"Honestly, I guess it just came to me." He said with a shrug, taking another sip of water, before perking up at the thought. "Actually, there was this one time when I was ten, and we actually managed to go on a trip to the museum and I looked at an exhibit of how people where able to make some sort or sweet ice cream from just the simplest of chemicals and...I'll admit it's a silly way of sparking a calling."

"Well, if you were into oxidized reactions at the age of ten, you'd be here long before now," Amy replied with a smile. "And that's not much more different than me," she added, leaning in before muttering. "You might say the Spider-Man was my calling card. Or Spider-Woman now, for that matter." A man walked by, and Amy felt a twinge in her head as her gaze snapped to him. he was shaky as he approached the middle of the restaurant, seeming to be looking for something in particular.

He couldn't help but laugh at that. He didn't think he was the only one that thought of spider-woman as a great inspiration. "That, I have no doubt." He said, wondering what she said about her being Amys calling card. It just seemed to mark his interest and all, but such thoughts were cut off when he noticed her looking at the guy approaching the middle of the restaurant. Judging from the narrowed eyes, She seemed...tense.
"Are you okay?" He said with a worried gaze.

Snapping back to reality, she turned back to him. "Hmm? Oh, I'm fine. Would you excuse me for a moment, though?" she said, taking her leave to the nearby restroom. The guy in question checked behind him over and over. A young male with glasses approached the register, curious of the man as well. "Can I help-" he started, only to be cut off as he looked to the man's waist, falling silent as the perp motioned with his hand into his coat.

Jason nodded as Amy went to the restroom, wondering what caused her to go suddenly to do her business. He suppose that if she had to go....but that happened after she gave the man in the middle of the place a narrowed-eyed glare. Why would she do that? Did she know the guy and they had some bad history together? Seemed like it in a way.
With a curious frown, he leaned over and look at the guy checking himself behind him over and over. Judging from the nervous look in his eyes, he seemed as if he was trying to look for something. But what was he looking for? Then his eyes looked at what the man was ushering at to his waist, and he froze, instantly moving a hand slowly to his pocket. This did not look good at all.

The poor soul behind the counter fumbled for cash from the register, spilling it all over the floor. "Come on! Really? Why you clumsy little-" the perp stalled as all eyes in the restaurant turned to him. "Alright, alright, nobody move!" he said, turning a pistol around the room. "Nobody move until this sorry sap gets the money in the bag and I am on my way." He slapped the kid with the bag as he stooped down, frantically scooping at the money.
Amy smacked against the stall door, falling out in her suit. "Great, another small thing to ruin my day. That's the fifth time this week!" She cracked the window open and webbed her work clothes high on the wall. "Now to lie in wait as soon as he comes out. Now, what's gonna be a good one liner as I catch the guy?..." She hated not being herself around others, though a hint of it came out with the new addition to the force.

Jason froze in shock as he saw that the man was another sort of robber. Welp, New York city always had some thief running around, and he had his fair share of dealing with such people. He could just wait for spider-woman to come around and stop him as usual, but there was no way of telling how long it would take for spider-woman to get here. It was fortunate that the robber wasn't looking at him at the present moment (partly because the young man was smart enough to stay glued to his seat), because he figured that now would be a time to test out another chem-ball of his.
Quietly sipping his glass of water and looking at the menu, one of his hands went to dig into his pocket to pull out a light blue ball. It wouldn't really do anything, unless he put a bit of pressure on it. His thumb-nail gently broke the surface of the ball, and it slightly hiss as he quietly rolled it from under the table and to the feet of the robber. With any luck, it would create a mini-pool of ice that would keep him stuck in place until the hero arrived.

The perp had more of a smile on his face as the cash was gathered, turning towards the door, only to hear the hissing. "Alright, who's the wise g-" he started, only to slip with a crash to the floor, scrambling on the surface. He was flustered. "Alright, who thinks they can pull a fast one on me," he said, staggering to his feet and pointing his gun around. "I know you're in here, show yourself!"
Amy heard the crash, followed by the yell. "Oh, great, I was hoping he'd casually walk out here. Now what's going on?" She lowered herself upside down from the rafters, peering through the thin window above the entrance. She didn't remember ice being in the place. Her eyes rolled and her palm reached to her forehead. "Of course. Bright young chemist is getting his feet wet... or is it cold feet? No... that's not working either...." She saw the man struggle to stand, and couldn't help but stifle a giggle. "Well, he's certainly got him on thin ice. Ok, get your game face on, girl.." she said, only for her senses to fire all at once, followed by a gunshot. "Uh-oh."
"Come on, who's the wise guy?" The man was almost frothing at the mouth out of anger as he shot straight at the ceiling. "Who said anything about a guy?" Amy called, Swaying into the room. "What? I thought you needed to cool off, seeing as there's all this ice everywhere."

Jason made no attempt to look at the guy at all, or at least do anything that would indicate that he did it. But he did flinch when a bullet went through the roof. He really hoped that the man didn't realize that it was him, even with a beat of sweat moved down the side of his face. She should be here any minute by now...
As if on cue (and much to his relief), spider-woman just so happen to come in to the picture, and now he can sit back and watch the struggling robber make a fool of himself.

"Aw, well that's just great. Perfect!" The man stormed about, which looked more like flailing on the ice. "You- you stay away from me, you hear?" "Oh, I remember you. I caught you at an ATM just last week," Amy said, scratching her head with a finger. "Now what was your name? Dennis? No, no that's not it. Patrick. George?" She flinched as a shot fired right next to her. "Oh, I know now. Ryan, Ryan trigger happy Ryan. You know you shouldn't play with that." A thwip locked the gun against the side of the counter. "First a machine, now you're ruining other people's meals? Now that is the worst crime you could commit in my book." The man struggled up, only to fall back down again. "No, no no need to get up, you've done enough. But, tell you what, I won't kick you," she said, spraying a net down on top of him, "while you're down. But, Ryan, if I catch you again, it'll be much worse for you, and I'm not talking from me, though I could have my fun."
She turned to the crowd. "It's alright everybody, no need to panic, I just need someone to alert the authorities and we can get you all back to the bon appetit you all deserve. Now...." she paused as she passed Jason's booth. "Wait, now hold on a minute... now I don't think that ice rink just sprung out of nowhere. Oh, now fancy meeting you here." She slid in the booth across from him. "Why do I get the feeling this isn't just coincidence?"

How did Jason respond to all of this? He simply shrugged and casually took a sip of water. "You asked it, not me." He said as he looked at her. "Nice work, as usual. I guess you had to break the ice sooner of later." He said, chuckling at the pun before coughing a bit. "In all seriousness, I just reacted to a guy who was stealing something. Funny how the world works."
Meanwhile, back in the Oscorp building, a particular office in the third floor was being occupied by a man, tall and sleek as they came in his back suit and navy-blue tie. His tanned face had sharp, mint-blue eyes that were looking at a blue pen that he was twirling as he had one ear covered with a black phone. He was also rubbing his growing facial hair on his sharply-shaped face as he leaned back into the call.
"Yes? Yes, I'm sure it's going well for us." He said casually, as his hand left from his hand to tapping the head of the oak-brown table. "You did make sure they were all accounted for? Yes.....what?" A frown grew upon his face. "That's a problem, but a minor one....I'm trying to make sure this isn't as bad as it looks, and as long as YOU double-check and make sure, it'll stay that way. Listen, if we're missing one thing, I'll make sure it's retrieved. I do expect them all in the lab by tonight."

"Well, it seems you can hold your own," she said. "There's just a teensy weensy thing that I'd.... recommend. Not that I want to criticize what you're doing or bring you down, but," she paused, searching the place as several murmured toward her and the boy. "There were a few innocent folk in the line of fire. Luckily I've tangoed with this guy enough he keeps his attention on me, but it's not just my neck I'm looking out for." She leaned back in the booth. "But in the spirit of things, you did good. Now..." she looked down at her own plate of food, then to his. "Ohhh, I wondered why you were here alone, but you're not even here alone, are you?" Her voice was like a best friend was playfully making fun of him for going out with a girl. "I take it my recommendation went well, eh? Already caught the eye of my contact, haven't you?"
All the while she spoke, she occasionally leaned to outstretched notebooks and arms, signing signatures and taking photos, but all of her focus was on him.

Oh, that certainly did put a big damper on Jasons little victory dance in his mind. He completely forgot that the robber was more than willing to harm the people here, more so when he pulled off that little stunt with the ice ball. He should've considered the possibility of someone getting shot, including himself, and maybe he should've done that after she came into the restaurant. Judging from how angry the guy became when he threw that ball to his feet, he seemed more than ready to kill some people if he didn't notice that he was the one who threw the ball.
"Yeah....gotta work on that." He said quietly, before he noticed her eyes looking at Amys plate, and then to him, and he blushed lightly. "Yeah, but we're not dating. It's just a friendly dinner to get to know each other."

She placed a hand on her cheek and leaned closer. "It always starts with a 'friendly' dinner," she teased, using her fingers for air quotes. "And perk up. Even this wasn't always perfect for your friendly neighborhood Spider Woman. Now, while I'd love to stay and keep you company, I'm sure your other company would like to get back to this. Hope to not see you so soon... again. Alright everybody, you've been quite the crowd, but I must take my leave. A city to keep safe, and very little time to sit around. Ta ta!" she said, disappearing in camera flashes out the door, exiting like a cowboy out of a saloon.
As if it were like magic, Amy stepped out of the bathroom, stalling as she took a few steps in, seeing the police come in and apprehend the man on the ice rink, a gathering snickering and freaking over how close they were to the spandex clad individual. "So... something tells me I missed something grand, didn't I? I regret having that Mexican last night it always turns to misery on me at the best times...." she said, sliding into the booth again. "We used to meet all the time and now my luck has drastically changed. Maybe it's because I spend all my time in the labs."

*Jason watched as the spiderwoman just leaped out the same way she came in, leaving him to think on her little tease. It was a cute thing, but he didn't have time for that sort of companionship currently. Besides, it was a little tease from a heroine famous for such puns and all, nothing major. He whipped his head around to see Amy stepping out of the bathroom, letting a grin crawl over his face. "You missed the show and a good signing." He said jokingly. "She managed to find the robber on some sort of ice-show, and I bet that eating italian's better on the tract." He leaned back and shrugged. "Sounds like a good deal to me. So uh, what do you usually do after lab-work?"
