"And I thought I overthought stuff. Eh, it doesn't matter much You'll probably hear my real name when Cyndaquil wakes up."
{His eyes simply kept upon the Dragonair for the time being, his face beginning to fade from the insane look he had before. At least he didn't seemed to have completely lost it. His eyes glanced around every so often, seemingly avoiding eye contact occasionally. This hinting to a sense of shyness within him.}
"Anyway, I believe Cyndaquil and I weren't the only crew to have gone overboard during that storm. I just don't know how many since I was keeping Cyndaquil alive. I kinda just had to swim. hope they'll be fine. Depending on who ended up taking a swim."

"I suppose I can get a bit carried away..." she replied, giving a light giggle. She became even more curious as he seemed a bit shyer than before, making her tilt her head a bit. "Hm...I hope so, too...maybe, if the storm brought you to this direction, they aren't too far. For now, you need to focus on resting, though..."

"Why's that? I still got a fire type to protect 'ere. Makin' me leave her is the last thing I'll do. Let alone rest. Besides, I was resting when you found me. I was just using my hearin' to find stuff."
{The water type Pokémon appeared as if he seemed almost insulted. Yet, he did certainly seem at least remotely thankful that concern was being shown/ His eyes darted around during is speech, avoiding eye contact simultaneously. His eyes often glanced towards the Cyndaquil , as if constantly concerned for her safety.}

"No, I never said to go looking for them while she's still resting," she said with a sigh as she continued to observe the Samurott. "Are you sure you're not still tired at all? It would seem like being washed ashore would take any energy from you..."

"And I wasn't intending on resting until she's awake. Ya know? It's kinda literally scary trying not to freak out when protecting someone important like this. Hell, I don't even fully trust you yet. Then again, I'm so laid back 'cos I'm confident in my abilities to keep myself safe."
{His arm came round towards the back of his head for a moment. One small detail that seemed to have alluded the gaze of the serpent was the sight of a flintlock pistol upon the Samurott's form, seemingly wet and not usable at the moment. While it didn't seem fully functional at first glance, it was still a firearm. He could very well still be capable of using it despite the water dripping from the holder.}

"I suppose if you say so," she replied, looking off a bit as he said he didn't quite trust her. "I suppose the device you have there helps from time to time...I don't think I've really seen anything like it..." Her gaze seemed to be focused on his firearm.

{The Samurott blinked twice before he realized what she meant. His eyes swiftly moved to the pistol he wore, carefully extracting the firearm from the holder with two of his claws.}
"Oh for the love of Arceus... I forgot about this thing. Should've expected it would get wet when I jumped into the water."
{he sighed as he laid the weapon upon the sand to dry, beginning an explanation as to what it was.}
"That's my personal pistol. It's a type of firearm used by anyone with a military status nowadays. It's a flintlock, so it has only one shot before I have to painstakingly reload. They're common weapons, but only so useful. Manly why swords are still used, one shot isn't always reliable."

"A pistol...a human weapon, right?" she asked, inspecting it from a distance. "I've never heard of a Pokemon wielding one...Aren't your kind known more for swords?"

”Well, yes. Of course we’re sword users. This is literally my last resort weapon. Only for specific situations. often when others have guns too. Because guns are kinda OP and need a nerf.”
{His eyes remained on the firearm for the moment, his gaze directing itself occasionally to the Cyndaquil to see if she may wake. He seemed almost uneasy about the fire type’s condition, also seemingly to lack the knowledge to check vitals.}

"I suppose that's fair...still a bit odd, though..." she replied, looking back over to the Samurott. "And I wouldn't worry about the Cyndaquil. She's breathing normally and should wake up healthy after the berry juice I gave her." Serena still looked concernedly at the Samurott, feeling he might be too stressed. It may be a risk, but...

{His sigh only further reinforced the ideology of his concern, yet the formidable Pokémon simply took a step towards the fire type, placing his hand on her face for a moment before returning to the pistol, skating it and attempting to see if it was functional without firing.}
“That’s reassuring. I should probably get this to work, never know when I’ll need it.”

"I...understand why...I'm just not too sure you sure fire here..." she said, clinching her teeth a bit. "I know a few others here and...well, firing a weapon like that might give the wrong impression. It could cause a bit of a stir..."

”Wet gunpowder doesn’t ignite. It’s currently a mush. I’m going to have to dry it all out before I use it.”
{The samurai otter sighed in annoyance for the situation of his firearm, beginning o find a method of drying the powder without it scattering.}

"Hmm..." she looked down as he tried to dry the gunpowder. "Do you need a leaf or something?"

”I think I’ll just leave the gun out in the sun for a while, along with my ammo pack. The heat should eventually dry it, even if it’s in the pistol.”
{Punctuating his statement with action, the water type Pokémon laid the firearm down within direct sunlight alongside a medium sized pouch likely containing the rest of his ammunition. As he worked, however, his ears picked up a faint groan from the fire type, prompting his gaze. yet he saw nothing different, allowing him to return to getting the gun and ammo to the sunlight.}
