The Dragonair looked over at the Cyndaquilb too. "Poor thing...what part would she usually play on your adventures? Is she your protege?"

”Protege? What kind of thing is that?”
{His gaze shifted towards the dragon type serpent with a confused look, having no comprehension of the term she used.}

"Pupil? Apprentice? Are you training her in something?"

”No. She trained herself. Literally, she’s actually scary in how powerful she can be. Even I would say she’s more than capable on her own. That’s why I’m not going to be worried when she’s awake.”
{His expression said it all. from the way his eyes widened to the gestures he made with his arms. It was clear he regarded this Pokémon’s strength in high regard.}
“She’s typically using range to hammer enemies while I’m acting as the vanguard. Pretty solid combination, really.”

The Dragonair giggled a bit at his explanation. "Sounds like the little one has quite a talent, then!" she replied. "It's be quite a spectacle to see her power when she evolves..."

”She chose not to evolve, unlike me.”
{The Samurott shifted his back back to his firearm to check the condition, not expecting it to have dried just yet.}

"I see. To each their own. I, myself probably won't evolve past a Dragonair. I'm quite fine with this serpentine figure..." she replied, giving a light smile.

”That’s not an uncommon opinion.”
{The water type returned with a small smirk of his own, despite trying not to smile. His eyes returned to the fire type, as he saw her begin to move. Though only a little.}

The snake looked over to the little Pokemon. "Sounds like she's coming back right as rain..." she replied, heaving a sigh. "Shouldn't be too long before she comes to..."

”I sure hope so. Got anymore berries available?”
{The Samurott turned his gaze towards the Dragonair with noticeable concern upon his complexion. His eyes reflected a desire to protect until the bitter end, conflicting the messages he had shown before with his more idiotic behaviour.}

"Plenty! I'll be right back..." she replied, slithering along back towards the bush that bordered the forest beyond.

{With the serpentine dragon off in search of berries, the Samurott turned to the now-waking fire type, gently stroking her as a means of comfort for her.}

It didn't take too long before Serena returned with a pile of Oran Berries held in a coil, watching the Samurott stroke the Cyndaquil as she got closer.

”... You’re back. Got berries?”
{Without even turning his head to gaze towards the serpentine dragon type, the Samurott spoke. his hand gently assisting the fire type in waking up, using minimal motions to prevent any startling.}

"Of course!" she chirped, bringing her group of berries towards the two and looking down to the Cyndaquil, keeping a distance. "Is she starting to wake?"
