"You ask many questions. You are one curious human. But you are making me curious too. I have not seen a human for as long as I've been alive." Haro walks back over to the hemal. She lifts a foot and slams it down near the animal. She drags her clawed toes along the rock. Small slashes half an inch deep in the rock. Haru steps back as a poof of steam escapes out of the cracks. Haru uses her foot to roll the hemal on top of the steam. "But a human here I do not believe will survive well. Though my mind tells me that being a hunter of demons your not gonna be scared off. Normally I don't bother with things that aren't mine. But you've caught my interest. So I think I know something that can work. "The way I see it you are in need of two things and I think I can provide them both. But I don't usually do things out of the goodness of my heart. I ask for a small compensation. I'm not asking for coins or crystals. No my terms are different. First, I believe you are in need of shelter. Everything on this island bites, claws, and poisons. A constant survival. My cave is safe, nothing can come in unless they can fly. I can allow you to stay here. In exchange you cannot lay a finger against me. I'm strong but I would like to be able to sleep in my cave without someone trying to kill me."

He folded his arms and thought about it for a few seconds. She did have a point, but hadn't he come for the sole purpose of eliminating demons? Still, she was clearly different from the rest. She was more intelligent... In fact, her mental capacity was identical to that of a human. She didn't seem unnecessarily malicious, either. She said she'd never seen a human before, so she couldn't have eaten any. Of course, she could be lying, but she hadn't tried to attack him either. "Very well, you have my word, but I have a term of my own. If you ever see another human, you can't harm them unless it's in self defense. Fair enough?"

"I don't think I will have to. As I said, I have not seen another human. Till you. Now here's the second. Your curiosity. The questions. I will answer them to the best I know. In exchange... you are to be my servant. Meaning you will do as I tell you."

Jesse raised an eyebrow. "If I do accept, then my second term is that you have to answer all of my questions honestly. No tricks, you understand?"

Haru arches an eyebrow. “I didn’t plan to. Hmm. I think our agreements are fair.” Haru holds out her hand. “Do we have a deal? Of course I believe a hunter of demons, you know what happens when you break a deal with a beast, for either sides?”

"A little too well," he said, extending his own hand. It felt strange, someone like himself making a PACT, but he wasn't selling his soul or anything... It was only temporary, not to mention his best course of action to gather information.

Haru takes his hand and interlocks their fingers. Her fingernails lightly pierce the first layer of his skin. But the wound was nothing, a scratch could be worse. "I swear by every drop of my blood." As she swore her oath, a tingling sensation buzzed through their palms. At the base of her throat the pigmentation of her skin darkened to a gray. A normal occurrence when making an oath between a beast.

Jesse swore on his own blood, gasping at the electric sensation flowing into his body. He hated it and wanted to pull away, but he forced himself to stand his ground. This was it. No turning back now.

Haru lets go after seeing the gray on Jesse's throat. She gives her own a rub knowing well she'll have one too. "Done," she said. The gargoyle gets up and goes back to the hemal that was cooking under the hot steam. It's color had darkened which meant indeed it was cooking. "Still not finished."

He felt a sudden pain in his neck-literally-but nothing too serious. He looked quizzically at the hemal for an instant, vaguely wondering about the taste but not caring altogether too much. Not one to waste time, he thought about where he should start with his questions."Are there other demons that think intelligently like you do, or are you the only one around here?"

"Many. There are plenty here on this island who are sentient like me. One thing to let you know. I'm not so much as a demon, I prefer to be called a beast." Haru starts using her toe claws to cut the Hemal into smaller bits.

"Alright, I'll remember that. And the others... What are they like?" He asked, curious. "Are they all gargoyles? Or something else?" He wondered if there were types of demons he'd never even heard of before, and if so, how he'd deal with them. Salt, silver and iron were pretty standard tools, but one could never be too sure...

Haru keeps one ear to his questions as she has just agreed to answer them. At the same time she kept going on preparing her kill. "There may be some other gargoyles. There are also Arachnes, trolls, Py-ons. Am I in need to list every one of them?"

"I suppose not. For now, anyway. Which ones are the strongest here? Are there any in particular I should watch out for?" He didn't like the idea of how long it would take him to settle things at this forest. With a horde of creatures like that, no wonder the town was abandoned.

"I could not say who is the strongest, as I never go there. This mountain and the close part of the forest is my territory and hunting ground. The ones I mentioned are strong but not as I am. But I know well enough not to venture too far. I'd rather not push my luck. I went hunting one time passed my domain and almost lost my tail." Haru lifts her tail to show a scar about three inches long in the middle of it. "I didn't see much of it. But it seemed to be a creature bigger than I was. It grabbed my tail and I only got away by my quick movement." Haru turns back to the cut meat and was satisfied. "It's ready. Since you are my servant I have my part in seeing to it you are well cared for. Which means sharing my meals."
