Amala helped her brother gather the small stones, and together they made a small circle. When Anika returned with the wood the two young arachne cover their eyes just as they were told.

After Anika was sure the children weren't looking, the girl grabs to rocks, scrape them against each other over the wood until there were sparks and then she blew on the wood until a flame erupted. The reason Anika didn't want them to see this was because fire was man's work and it was what separated the jungle life from man. The jungle girl didn't want to burden the arachne children with this dangerous knowledge.
"Alright you two," Anika said after hiding the flint amongst the rest of the rocks. "This can help warm us but don't touch it."

The two open their eyes and the moment they saw the fire they backed away a few half steps. Their parents have told them about fire. How it destroys whatever it touches. It could only be created by storms, yet man knows how to create it too. After a moment Amala felt the warmth coming from the fire. It sight still made her worry, but she was cold and her mind was telling her to come and get warm. Goan turns to Anika. "Is this safe?"

"I know it's a little dangerous but we're safe with the flame so small. Just hold your hands out like this." Anika said. The jungle girl held her hands out near the fire but made sure not to touch it. "When your hands are warm enough just brush them against your arms so the heat can spread."

Goan looks to his little sister, then to the red glow again. Being brave he goes first. Getting closer, he holds out his two human arms towards the glow. It was warm like the sun. He looks at Amala again and nods his head. Amala gets up and copies her brother. Anika was right it was warm and the chill was starting to leave the young Arachid's body

After a while, the jungle girl began to feel warmer and dryer by the firelight. She knew she'd have to put it out once she found a way to keep herself and the children warm.
"How are you two?" Anika asked the arachnes, "Any better?"

"Warm," Goan says. Amala sits down, dried now she pulls some more silk out and knits her hands through the sticky string. The two arachne were beginning to learn how to spin their silk. They had gotten down how to gather but their sewing skills were like a child's drawing. Goan looks outside the cave, it was still pouring out there. "What do we do now?"

Anika sighs as she stands and walks towards the entrance of the cave.
"We should wait out the storm for a while and see if it lightens up soon," The jungle girl grabs a large leafs and sets it to catch rainwater. "Until then let's just try to relax. You two can rest if you want and I'll keep watch."

Amala drops her silk and crawls over to Anika. She picks her little hand at the girl's leg before holding her arms up saying she wanted to be held. "Will we find mom and dad?" she asked.

Anika looks down her leg and sees the young arachne. She smiles, picks up Amala and holds her close.
"Of course we will," Anika answered.

Amala snuggles close to Anika. The human was seen as a older sibling to the three young spiderlings. The three hardly questioned why, they just accepted her. Goan settles himself on the ground near the fire as it was warm. He was a little tired from their near drowning experience. Their kind doesn't swim well not counting their were just children.

"Go join your brother, I'll rejoin you in a moment," Anika said.
Once the girl arachne goes back, Anika bent down and picked up the large leaf with both hands grabbing the ends. The jungle girl carries it towards Goan and Amala.
"Drink up you two," Anika said. "Whatever is left will be used to dows the fire."

Despite they almost drowned from the rapids, the two were indeed thirsty. They both come to the leaf and drink some of the fresh rainwater. After they were both full, they move back to their spot near the fire and sit down. Goan presses his body against Amala in comfort. She was younger than him so he felt the urge to be the big brother and keep her calm. Though with Anika here, Amala wasn't so afraid.

Anika gathered some more water for herself and brought the rest to dose the fire later. After placing the water securely away, the jungle girl joined Goan and Amala by the fire.
"All right, we'll rest a bit longer and then we will go and search for home together," Anika said. "No matter what happens we stick together, understand?"

Amala right away sits up from her spot and climbs into Anika's lap. Goan decides to move over too and presses his body against the jungle girl's side.
Far away up the stream two arachne and their child were able to escape the flames. They followed the stream hoping to catch up but the rapids were too fast they had lost the children that fell in. Arca was so worried. Two of her children have been swept away along with the girl cub she cared for like a her own. Gonter tries to keep himself from falling apart while comforting his mate. There is no telling if the three survived the ordeal. If they have, how could they find them? But they do have each other and their third child Antal. "Anika, Amala, Goan. If your out there I hope your alright. And we'll see each other again."
