“Well...” said the young man. He felt a bit sheepish now as she was starting to question him. “Well... it’s because...” he let out a sigh, taking another piece of bacon, and chewing it, wanting to think through why exactly he wanted to go back under. “It’s because... when you put me under last night... in that place we went, it was like I’d never lost my arm. I... I wanna feel that again... I know that we don’t quite understand what happened last night, or if I’ll ever get to go back, but... I just wanna try...” he said, coming up with a full explanation for himself, and for Cassidy. Alex ran his hand through his hair, before looking down at his prosthetic limb. After his experience last night, it was almost as if he’d lost his arm all over again.

Cassie frowned a little at this. "Alex..." she started to say, but stopped herself as she tried to phrase what she wanted to say next. Bacon proved to be a good excuse for this, and suddenly there was a lot of thoughtful munching going on. "Alex, I can't give you your arm back." She decided to be blunt about it with him. "You of all people deserve the chance to have that time. But it's just a dream. You can't live like that." She thought about how to express this.
"You know that wizard movie? The one with the magic mirror? Something about 'It doesn't do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.' But I'll do it. I just can't do this all the time."

The girl’s blunt attitude hit Alex like a bullet train. He knew he’d never have his arm back, but he wanted to feel like he had his arm, even for just a few minutes. As Cassie started retelling the scene from one of the Harry Potter movies, Alex simply rolled his eyes. ‘Not everything can be explained away using fiction,’ he thought to himself, almost zoning out until he heard her say that she would do it. As soon as those words left her lip, Alex stood up and walked over, before wrapping his arms around her. He was more than grateful that she was willing to do this for him. He let out a happy sigh, and said softly, “thank you.”

"Never underestimate the wisdom of Dumbledore." She returned his hug warmly. "Of course my friend. Now when the bacon is finished, we can begin. I'll give you half an hour before I wake you up again. That's almost twice as long as you had before. The bacon is almost out, then we can begin." So they finished off the last of the bacon. Cassie had him sit down on the couch once again.
"Do you remember how this goes? If you remember how it felt last time, try to recall those feelings. I want you to sit comfortably, sit up but relax your posture."

Despite how unhealthy it might be, Alex scarfed down some of the bacon, eager to get under way. He felt bad that his roommate hadn’t woken up yet, so he saved some for Jake. Alex stretched his arms out to the sides, letting out a quiet groan of satisfaction at the meal he’d just enjoyed. He had to admit, Cassie was an astounding cook.
When Cass finally finished her bacon, she lead me over to the couch. I was getting quite anxious, and excited. Thoughts ran through my mind, like, ‘what if I don’t go back to this place? What if I just fall asleep for the next thirty minutes?’ He pushed thoughts like these to the back of his mind, and sat in the couch, trying to get back into that position I’d been in last time. I sat up just like cass told me to, and relaxed my joints and muscles.

Cassie started to remove her pendant once again. She wondered if perhaps there were other ways she could put people under. Alex had been under once before, and in theory meant he would be more suggestible than the first time. Street magicians often used mental tricks to get people hypnotized. But she decided since it worked once, she should go with the tried and true method.
"Alright. Focus your attention on this. Remember how it made you feel before. Stare into the depths."

Alex nodded slowly, and stared into that pendan she swung before his face. He looked directly into the rock, and felt his muscles going numb once more. He couldn’t help the smile that was starting to tug at the corners of his lips as he sat there on the couch. He stayed quiet, as talking would only make him think, and he knew thinking would keep him from going under. He had to keep his mind blank. It took all of his effort to not think about anything. But that was the problem. He was putting too much effort into it.

Cassie noted that there was a smile creeping up on his face. That was good, her process was working. But something was holding him back, and she wasn't sure what. But asking would break the spell. Well they had only just begun, maybe she could iron it out.
"Make sure to keep your mind blank. Just push out any stray thoughts. As clear as the crystal. Just let your eyes trace the contours and bends within. Nothing outside the gem. Only the shapes and the reflections."

As Cassie urged him to leave his mind blank, the young man couldn’t help but obey. All of the thoughts in his mind began slowly slipping from his mind. He his jaw dropped open slightly. Alex stared at the crystal, feeling his gaze being pulled directly into the rock hanging in front of his eyes. The young man went completely numb.
His fingers started twitching just like the night before. In a few more moments he would be under, but he needed one final push. The college student’s toes curled slightly as he felt his mind starting to slip away, and he let out a shaky breath.

"Sleep Alex. Sleep. You can dream again about using your arm. Just allow yourself to give in. Let your mind float away. " Well at least she didn't smack him with the pendant again. She reached out and gently placed a pillow behind his head for comfort and support as he slowly fell under the spell.

Cass’s urging for him to sleep was too much for him. His eyes he’ll shut as the effort he’d been putting into keeping them open was just too much. He quickly fell under...no. Asleep? No. Definitely under... but was he really? This was different than last time. His eyes slowly fluttered back open, and his eyes connected with that pendant once more before his eyes shut down again. His muscles all went limp and his head fell back a few degrees as well. This blankness was different from the last time. It was dark. Just dark. Within a few moments, light started to slowly shine into his mind, and within seconds, everything was awash in bright light. And by that, it meant that nothing was being lit by any blinding light. It was all just white. Pure white.
Alex took a few moments before finally sucking in a deep deep breath. He ran his hands through his- wait.. Alex looked at his arms, and saw that his arm was back. He let out a sigh of both relief, and happiness. The college boy couldn’t help but let out a celebratory whoop of excitement! He was back in this strange place. Hopefully, if he was lucky, Cass letting him stay under for thirty minutes this time would allow him to fully enjoy and appreciate having two arms.

And there is was again. Way off in the distance was a single black dot. It made the rough silhouette of a person against the empty whiteness. Was it in the same place as last time or was is completely different? It was just about impossible to tell without features or landmarks.
Scarlet stood there surveying the emptiness around her. A prisoner in her own mind. And then it happened again. There was someone else far off. This hadn't gone well before, but maybe she could make contact this time.

Alex felt as if there was something tugging at the back of his mind, willing him to turn around. It wasn’t like, an instinct. It was like something was compelling him to turn. He spun around, and looked off into the distance, and spotted a silhouette way off in the distance. It seemed as though this silhouette was back the same distance it had been the first time he’d spotted it last night.
The young man cupped his hands around his lips, and bellowed out a loud “hello!” In hopes that his voice could reach her. His words echoed around throughout the massive expanse of nothing.

The sound of something faintly echoed off the emptiness. Scarlet realized that it was the first sound she had heard in this place that wasn't her own. But what was it? Most likely it was that other person so far away. She couldn't tell what they said, but it sounded friendly enough. She attempted to wave back at him, but it was hard to tell if the message would be visible enough either. These last two times she had been here, she was starting to realize that she might very well need help. Hopefully this other person was feeling generous. It was time to start walking. Last time she had her bicycle, but it hadn't seemed to help much. Well, she would get there when she got there.

As the figure way off in the distance seemed to move slightly in reaction to his voice, Alex knew he needed to investigate. Still. He couldn’t help but smile as he felt the sensation of his left arm brushing against his clothes, the cloth gently stroking back against his skin. He began walking, barefoot across the unknown material which made up the floor. Ever so slowly, he drew closer and closer, the journey towards this person taking much longer than it needed to. It seemed to him like he’d been walking for the same amount of time that he originally had he and this mysterious figure were now about fifty feet away from each other, and he could finally make out more details about who this mysterious person was. Now that they were this close, each step he took seemed to bring him the normal distance a step usually would.
“Are you okay?” He asked, taking note of her disheveled appearance. Her white clothes were somewhat dirty, bringing a stark contrast between her and Alex. “W-what’s your name?” He asked, absentmindedly stroking his left arm gently.
