"Alright. Well no more hypnosis for me tonight," Miranda said, standing up from her seat. "It is kind of strange though. I don't feel the least bit tired. That must have been some sort of deep R.E.M. cycle. It was a fun party everyone, but I think I'm going to call it a night."
"Yeah I'm starting to really crash from all that soda," Owen agreed that things were winding down. Cassie's experiment wasn't exactly the greatest party trick ever.
"OK well, perhaps we can do this again tomorrow?" Cassie asked. "I mean the hypnosis, not the party. Not that it wasn't a great party," she added hastily. The weekend seemed like a perfect time to get some things done without class interfering. Miranda made ready to leave. As usually she insisted on getting hugs from everyone. She went down the line starting with Jake and working her way to Alex and Cassie.
"Hmmmm...? Oh right!" Cassie snapped out of her concentration to stand up and give Miranda her hug.
"Alex. It was nice hypno-ing with you." Miranda said, holding her arms open.

As everyone seemed ready to go home, Jackson checked the time on the DVR set up at the front of the living room, to realize that it was way past curfew. “Jeez! It’s that late already?” He turned around to find Miranda with her arms stretched to either side. He smirked before wrapping his arms around her in a gentle hug, before sending her on her way along with the rest of the party. “Remember guys, next time we throw a party, it’s gonna be in one of your guys’s Rooms.” He chuckled before turning around to find that cass was still writing speedily into her notebook. It seemed she maybe planned on staying over simply to write while the info was fresh.
“Hey Cass? Do you have any questions you want to ask me before I head off to bed?” He sat across from the speedy writer, and smiled.

She looked up a him a little confused. Bed? Then her eyes went wide. "Oh! I am so sorry. I'll be getting out of here real soon! Ummm... let me see. So you never got to talk to this mysterious person under hypnosis? Oh wait! How did it feel to have your arm back? No no wait. Something of scientific importance... How about... How did you feel during your experience? Miranda felt trapped. How about you? I guess that goes back to the arm question." She hastily started packing her things away. All except the notebook where she was still taking notes.

Alex couldn’t help but laugh as Cassie frantically packed away her stuff. “No need to hurry Cass. You’re welcome to stay over if you want to. Anyways, when I went under, it was like... really quiet. I tried calling out for someone, but my echo came back. It was a little startling being there at first, but when Miranda showed up it was a bit more comforting, since I wasn’t alone.” I noticed she had immediately stopped packing up to take down the notes. “As for the other person, I don’t really know much about them. It’s all fuzzy... they never got close enough for us to start up a conversation. On and my arm?”he looked down at the prosthetic, I don’t know how to describe it. It was like it never left. There’s no other way to describe it.” He smiled remembering how he felt when he felt his hand running through his hair.

Cassie hastily scribed each little detail as he talked. When he had finished, they lapsed into silence. Her pen stopped on the page. She was obviously deep in thought again. Then she started underlining and boxing various sections. A side note here, an insert there. It seems she completely forgot he was in the room. While she had been hastily trying to leave a moment ago, it seemed like she had planted herself again. The simple notes section could take her hours with her level of concentration.

Alex simply shrugged to himself as he sat there watching Cassie starting to organize her notes. Hopefully she was satisfied with the information he’d given her. Whatever faux rem sleep Miranda had been talking about had worn off, and Alex felt more tired than he had been before the hypnosis. “Good night Cass.” He said, patting the top of her head gently before slowly heading back into his room and flopping down face first on the mattress he called his bed. Within moments, he was out and down for the count.

"Huh? Oh, night Alex," she said as she got to gathering her stuff once again. But she could work right here in silence...
She woke up some hours later with her head on the table, and her notes scattered all around. Where was she again? Oh right! She must have fallen asleep in Alex and Jake's place. Clearly the last thing she was working on were her scientific notes. She had no idea if she was the first one up or not, but it was clear that the sun was streaming through one of the windows. Maybe she would offer to do something about breakfast. After all, they did let her use their... table.

The young man who’d ventured into his bedroom was still fast asleep, tuckered our from the mental exercise he’d gone through yesterday night. Luckily, all of his classes were in the evening. He was a pretty deep sleeper, and this was one of those days where it would take a lot to wake him up. He lounged on top of his covers, not even having the energy last night to slip under the comforter. He lay there in absolute peace and comfort, enjoying his dreams.

She considered maybe offering the local waffle house. But there wasn't anyone to offer it to. Maybe she would see what they have. Normally, she wouldn't go rooting through people's fridges. Even if they were friends. The fridge was as empty as could be expected of college students. She did manage to find a package of bacon. Maybe she would just cook up that. Soon the aroma of bacon filled the apartment. Slightly burnt bacon, but bacon none-the-less.

Slowly Alex was woken from his dreams as the scent of bacon wafted through the air into his room. Slowly, the young man rolled out of bed and landed on the floor, before lifting himself to his feet, and heading into the living room. “Woah,” he said as he saw Cassie standing over the stove cooking some bacon. “That smells delicious,” he said. Deep down he praised the fact that she hadn’t burnt the bacon and lead to the dorm building’s fire alarm going off. That would have been a real blast.
“Did you stay all night?” The young man asked, surveying all the papers which were still spread all across the table. “Make any breakthroughs at least?”

"Good morning. No. No breakthroughs. I just reorganized the entire thing... and ultimately that meant re-writing the whole thing. I think I need to invest in a voice recorder so I can review those instead of... all this," she gestured to the papers scattered around the table. "Anyway, I figured I'd make breakfast since I got to stay here last night."

Though bacon seemed like a pretty delicious breakfast, it wasn’t exactly something one could eat on its own. He checked in the fridge and realized that it was all they had to eat. That party must have wiped them out of all their food. The man spun around and faced Cass, as she went on about how she needed to get a voice recorder.
“Well you’ve certainly got some drive, “Alex said, remarking at the fact that she’d literally re-written everything start to finish. “So, Cass... I was thinking...” he started, sitting down at the table with a plate of a few slices of bacon.

So bacon for breakfast it was. It wasn't unknown for college students to make a meal out of whatever was available. Cassie turned to look at him, "You were thinking?" she asked in mock horror. Cassie actually managed to make a joke. With a combination like that, the world might be ending. Owen would have been proud of Cassie right at that moment.
"I'm so sorry! I'm just kidding! What were you thinking, Alex?"

When Cass taunted him about his fragmented sentence, Alex couldn’t help but give her a look. It wasn’t an angry look, but it wasn’t a laugh either. He sat there for a few moments just staring at her before she started fervently apologizing. His facial expression immediately changed, and he let out a laugh, before saying, “No it’s okay, I know you were just kidding, but seriously, You were just channeling Owen or something!” He laughed a bit more before sighing. “Anyways, I was thinking... well... I want you to put me under again,” and he took a bite of the bacon on his plate.
Alex didn’t want to seem desperate, but he didn’t quite know how else to go about it. He chewed the bacon, and looked over at Cassie, wondering what her reaction would be. Hopefully Cassie would say yes. He desperately wanted to go back to having both of his arms. “So... yeah...”

She turned bright red at being called out for her unexpected quip. "You want to be put under? Without Miranda? Why would you want to do that?" It seemed like a strange request. There was something bothering her, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. It raised some red flags, but she was willing to hear him out. And she did need the data. For science. She took some of the bacon and chewed it thoughtfully.
