The koa warrior panicked at first, but then gathered his wits, raised his leiomano, and wacked his attacker with the flat side of said leiomano. Kaitan was on the attacker in an instant, wrestling with him until he successfully subdued him. Then the rest of the koa gathered around and helped Kaitan tie the intruder up, while teasing their comrade about how he freaked out. Kaitan, however, was glaring at Chris.
”Oh, please, take your time, we don’t need you or anything,” he said with dosgruntled sarcasm.

Chris rolls his eyes in front of Kaitan.
"Ha. Ha. Ha. You think you're a funny kid." He said, shaking his bulky straitjacket. "I was about to get that son of the b*** when I've instantly noticed one of you guys was screaming and stuff him in this bad boy."

Kaitan wasn’t impressed, and neither was Hilo. However, both looked at each other and silently conceded that they wouldn’t have known what might’ve happened. So Kaitan got off the assailant and rejoined his koa comrades while Hilo walked up to their guest. He looked in bad shape. He was gaunt, as if he hadn’t eaten in days. His eyes darted around. His knees trembled. But it was hard to tell if the man was scared or not.

Chris began to breathe quietly, still feeling upset about the situation he's in now. He cares about his reputation, and doesn't want anybody to see him as a joke. He looks at Hilo and the jungle girl as they walk towards him.
"You're the only person who knows I'm telling the truth." He said to her.

"I'm sorry, what?" Huli asked. "I just... met you, how do I know you're telling the truth?"

“You don’t look too angry about this unlike the tribe and your monkey boy friend.” He said still looking how different Huli’s reaction is compared to the others. “I hate having bad days.”

"Okay then, I do hope you're telling the truth," she said, "Because if you're not, I'd join my boyfriend and my tribe's warriors in..." She went over to the permit and examined it. After reading over it for a few moments, she too broke out laughing derisively at him. "You're f***ed!" she laughed.
"Some with us, son," Hilo said, gesturing with his hand, "We're taking you to the haole learners. And if your story doesn't check out, then just hope they won't give you over to us for dinner."
"Hilo, is that necessary?" Kaitan whispered.
"If the haole are going to see us as savages, might as well play along," said Hilo, "Unless it gets out of hand."

“Oh, I’m being truthful, kid.” He said. “I can call my friends with my phone to pick me up when I’m done with this Haloe thing, which I’ll accept to kill some time.” The hunter is actually kinda curious about the island, since he had visited many villages and experienced different cultures at many jungles worldwide.

“He means the scientific expedition currently camped not too far from here,” said Kaitan. “They’re the people my girlfriend came with.” Julie flashed a thumbs-up sign.

“All right then.” Said the giant hunter with a grin, folding his thick straitjacket. “I’ll meet those guys over there for a chat. But first, I’m gonna put this jacket in my backpack, and bring it along with my tranquilizer gun in case I get any crazy encounters.”
Chris went back in his tent to put one of the restraints in the backpack, and carries it and his gun, coming out of the tent after a couple of minutes. “Let’s go - I’m ready to meet them.”

They didn't run into any problems. It was a smooth trek from Chris's campsite to the research expedition's base camp that lasted about an hour. While they didn't begrudge Chris for being prepared, and they were themselves prepared, the koa warriors couldn't help but feel a little smug about it. Hilo did not, though. He kept a professional demeanor the whole time.

While they were walking to another campsite, Chris had taken a few pictures of certain animals with his smartphone. “Gotta show ‘em to my family.”
When they’ve finally made it, the giant hunter was looking around the tents, wondering which one is used for researching. A few scientists and even another jungle girl who wore a bikini-looking two piece like Huli but younger went out the biggest one of the campsite, starring at Chris in curiosity rather than anger.
“I guess these are the guys I’ll be chatting with.” He said walking towards them for a discussion. “Hey, it’s not what cha think it is; I maybe a hunter, but I’m not a poacher.”

"Who's he?" the younger jungle girl, a Japanese-Australian teenager named Kimi Fujioka asked.
"He's a haole who came here on his own," said Huli. "He needs a daypass."
"Is this another one of your friends?" a dark-haired woman in ther 30s asked. "Or more trouble you attracted?"
"You tell her," Huli said to Chris. "Her name's Gina, by the way."

“I was ordered by one of my friends from a special organization I work at sent me here to protect villages from any danger.” The giant said to Gina and Kimi, placing his backpack down onto the floor in case he has to show any of his restraints, including the bulky jacket inside to them. “I am a very special kind of hunter like no other.”

Gina glanced over at the snickering Teo, then back to Chris. "My name's Gina Robinson. I'm a biology professor at the University of Auckland."
"Which means it's my turn to speak," said another Polynesian man, standing up. "I'm John Tamou, former Australian Army lieutenant. And your name is?"
