“That’s okay!” Said Muy, trying hard to remain positive. “I haven’t recognized a thing since I got here, so I’m probably not from here either,”. He cast his eyes around the market, looking for something to bring up with the Dusknoir, a form of discussion he could have while trying to contemplating the best form of interrogation in the back of his mind. He could not let this opportunity escape him, he had no clue how often travellers stopped by Tranquil Town, or how often Bilro even came out to the town though, now that he’d come once, he’d probably be able to make the journey himself, in even less time if he flew.
“You um…” he was desperate to try and keep Opheosis’ attention, to keep the conversation going at all costs. He had no idea what devious ideas were simmering in the Ghost-Type’s own mind. “Have you ever met another Mew? Are there places were there are lots of my kind?” He skimmed the surrounding market, half expecting to sport another tiny pink creature roaming the streets, or perhaps floating over the rest of the Pokemon’s heads. “I don’t suppose that would be the best way to figure out where I’m from; Pokemon don’t seem to settle solely with their own kind.” he frowned, frustrated, for a moment, before looking back over at Opheosis.
“Why do you travel so much?” Muy asked quickly, realizing that he’d been rambling for a few moments, and worried that he’d lost Opheosis’ interest.

“Well, I don’t know too many Mew, no,” Opheosis starts, shaking his head, arms going back up to fold in front of himself. The very question itself indicated of how little Muy knew even about his own species. The way he spoke as well as his gestures told the Dusknoir that this was not an act, told this Dusknoir - a worldly man capable of seeing and making falsities - that he was looking at an authentic freak accident.
“I don’t know where the nearest other Mew is at the moment either,” he continues, a technically true statement on its own. Opheosis didn’t ever meet an amnesiac person till now, but it would make sense to imagine how gullible they could be as a result. He sneaks a glance past Muy to check Bilro and Willis, and given their looks, none of the three had a clue just how significant Muy could have been. Excellent; that makes his job easier.
“But given enough wandering around, I presume it’d be only a matter of time before I run into another one,” he wagers, snapping his sole eye back onto the pink trusting midget. “I actually manage a few ragtag businesses around for some gold, but with how isolated they are from each other, I end up doing the moving to check on all of them. That, and I believe in helping others find a place where they belong to. The world is so vast that there is always a place for any one person to fit in."

“The other Mews,” Muy said quickly, the moment Opheosis stopped talking. “The other Mews you’ve known, what are they like?” The single eye stared at him, judging, calculating, but Muy hardly cared what the giant, metal Pokemon thought of him. Muy look at Opheosis, increasingly depressed as he listened very carefully to every syllable the Dusknoir uttered. Not to many Mews...that was troubling. How could he know who he was supposed to be without knowing of others like him. Thoughts soared through his head. Could he possibly be the only one of his kind? No, where could he have come from if he was the only Mew in the world?
“Oh, that’s interesting,” he said, at the knowledge of Opheosis’ method of income. Despite his amnesia, the Mew knew enough to still pretend to be interested in what the Dusknoir had to say. All he wanted to hear was more about Mews, why did he continue to bore him with these-
What was that?
Then he heard Opheosis mention helping other Pokemon find their place in the world. His tiny blue eyes lit up with excitement. “You do what?!” He asked. He continued talking, despite having asked a question. “Do you have any idea where I could fit in? Where I belong?”
This truly was a great opportunity for Muy. He could hardly believe his luck at having the first person he’d come across be the person who could, judging by his job description at least, perfectly positioned to help him. The poor Mew was so desperate for some sense of belonging, some understanding of who he was, that he hadn’t even considered that the Dusknoir might have had other, more sinister plans for him.

“On the subject of the other Mews, I never got close to any of them. However, I found myself in the presence of one doing some freelance fighting,” the Dusknoir starts to explain, nonchalantly returning arms to his side, knowing deep inside he had the attention of the Mew. “I don’t remember his name, but he was a pretty popular person. People cheered and bet on him for many a fight.”
The man returns the hand back up to his chin, apparently having not a clue where he’d want them to be placed during the conversation. To be fair, there was not much else he could move in his expression, save for the fact his body was bobbing ever so slightly as he levitates over the ground. How should he go about with speaking to Muy? There was not the slightest sense of suspicion from any of the three, but he had to keep this story vaguely believable.
“I remember the city he was at, but I don’t know if he’s still fighting there; it’s been at least some moons. I’ll take you along. It’s my destination anyhow.”

Muy’s tiny eyes could hardly get any bigger as he stared up in awe at the Dusknoir. Here was a Pokemon who had seen a Mew, who’d fought in a freelance (whatever that was), and had been supported, loved even, by Pokemon. He HAD to meet him, whatever his name was, he had to meet the other Mew. Surely the Mews, judging by how few there were around here, knew each other, surely they all would have heard of one of their kind disappearing.
He resolved himself. He would go with this Dusknoir, he would find this Mew, and then, he could find out where he came from, who he was, where he belonged. This was the best opportunity he could possibly have expected from this trip to Tranquil Town. He had expected a long trail based entirely on rumors, a journey that might have taken him years to track down his home, before he’d lost his memory. Instead, he’d already a heading, and a guide along the way to this city, wherever it was.
He looked over at Opheosis, curious. It crossed the Mew’s mind that the gigantic, floating, metallic ghost with only one giant red staring eye might not be the most trustworthy pokemon in the world. Still, he needed to meet the Mew, he would know what would happen. Besides, what would happen if he didn’t go with him? He couldn’t spend another few weeks with Bilro and Willis, farming berries and gazing out over the beach he’d washed up on, listening to the waves taunting him, the reminder of something that he could not quite remember.
“I will go with you,” he said, firmly.

Willis blinked at this resolute declaration, staring at the pink enigma in confusion, quite unlike Bilro, the Croconaw having seeing this sort of turn of events to come in due time. The Mew had been long in pursuit to find out his origins, what he was doing in the world and what he should do. To know of a man that had possible answers to what Muy’s past, there was not a chance he wouldn’t go pursue this opportunity to understand more about himself.
“With me? Very well, I suppose you wish to move on to go find this man,” Opheosis concludes with a nod, agreeing to obtain a companion without having planned to. And a Mew, no less, quite the species to just pick up and try to put to use. He’s already placed his own bets on the wild card before him, and so long as he makes sure to stay on Muy’s good side, surely he had one less thing to worry about as to what could go wrong. Still, there would not be any reason to let the fellow grasping at metaphorical straws here piggyback even the trip to the city. “Just know that I don’t plan to allow you to come along for free. I know a few places I could house you at once we’re there, but again - not free.”
“Mister Off-ee-oh-sid,” Bilro interjects, hand up to further draw attention.
“It's Opheosis.”
“Whatever! Thanks for offering Muy a way for him to find his calling. But please look after him,” the Croconaw pleads of the Dusknoir, looking up and directly towards at the ghost, fine with Muy heading out, leaving him and Willis to get the answers he long desired. “Even if he ain’t the best around, he’s a hard-working and honest man. Don’t treat him poorly okay?”
Once Bilro catches the Dusknoir to nod, he would turn to the Mew who has been the topic of the conversation now. His sincere gaze breaks into mild levity, a smile to grow back on his face as he could give what parting words he could think of right now.
“It hasn’t been long, Muy, but you’ve been such a big help for me and Willis. Wherever you go, best of luck with your journey. If you want, there are berries you can bring with you, right yonder there. And you can always come back to live with us if it just didn’t work out. We’ll always welcome you to the farm.”

“Ah,” said Mew. He had been hasty in his decision, he had not really given much thought to money. “I don’t really have anything in the way of money, but I’ll try to pay you off best as I can once we get to…” he paused, when he realized that he was not entirely sure where they were going, or, once he got there, how he would be able to pay Opheosis. Would the other Mew pay the Dusknoir? Would he find out that he had money? He brushed these questions aside. Now was not the time to worry about finances, now was the time for adventure!
Mew smiled and the Croconaw and the Oshawott. Bilro and Willis, they had helped him in his first few days. He might very well have not survived that day he’d washed up on the beach had it not been for their efforts. They had kept him alive, they’d fed him well, they’d made sure he was back in good condition and, just as he’d started wondering about life beyond the farm, they’d taken him here, to Tranquil town, to meet Opheosis, the person with whom he could begin his journey, his quest for self-discovery.
“Thank you,” he said to Bilro. “For Everything. I probably would have died had it not been for you.” He turned, back to Opheosis. “Are we leaving now, or do you have other business in Tranquil town?”

“Ah, yes, that’s right,” he softly exclaims, remembering why he wandered down this part of town. With that, he takes his eye off of Muy and over to the wooden cart of berries. After checking out the contents briefly, he rotates ever so slightly on an imaginary axis, crossing his arms as he addresses Bilro, now back in the mood for some real business. “I was on the search for food to bring carry on for the trip, since I was running low. How much do your berries go for?”
“A silver each.”
“I’ll take six,” the Dusknoir would request, unfolding the arms as he agrees to the deal, reasonable enough without a need to attempt to negotiate the price. From the jagged yellow lines of his midsection, his body opens up like a jaw, his right hand reaching into the pitch darkness that light could not venture forth (or was it that light could not escape once it enters?), immediately withdrawn back into sight, holding half a dozen of the small silvery coins. The gap that formed in the front of his body shuts as he offers the coins, a mildly perplexed Bilro taking the currency with mild hesitation.
But the trade smoothly proceeds, the Ghost type receiving his goods - stored in predictable fashion at this point - and facing Muy after that short process.
“We can leave now, as I have no other business in Tranquil Town.”

Muy looked over at the Dusknoir, Opheosis, his travelling companion, and smiled. He was excited, so excited that he ended up unconsciously lifting himself off the ground with Psychic as he turned to go. Now, after days of recovering and resting at Bilro’s farm, with nothing but the field of berries and the quiet taunts of the sea as it brushed up against the coastline, now he could finally begin his adventure. He wondered what this other Mew would be like. What would he be able to do, what could he have to tell him about where he had come from? Would he be friendly to another Pokemon of his kind, or would he consider Muy a threat, another Mew coming to upset his position, for Muy assumed that, for Opheosis to have heard of him, that this other Mew was one of the best fighters in the city.
He paused, realizing he was not yet sure which direction the Dusknoir had come up, or which direction he intended to go in, and thus kept turning, to face Opheosis again. “Um...which way?” he asked, awkwardly. He looked over the Dusknoir once again. The bulky, ironclad (or was that his actual skin) figure did not inspire trust, with that single glaring red eye. However, it would have been utterly ridiculous to reject this daunting figure’s generous offer. How fortunate he had been to meet such a helpful Pokemon!

“Not a problem. I can just lead the way,” Opheosis simply lets Muy know, turning to face down the road he would likely walk along. With that, the ghost levitates away, having acquired the goods he originally sought. He would be leaving with even more than he had expected, but he hopes that Muy would be worth the trouble. Well, decisions were made, and now they walked as a pair. As they moved on down the road, leaving town to the promised land.
Actually, wait. Opheosis’s hand reached up as he stops moving forward, the ghost quickly pausing in thought as well.
“While we’re going over to the city, it would be nice if you learned of the law over there. It’s nothing too drastic, but people would definitely see very poorly of you if they just get broken in plain sight. Anyway, here.” The bulky Dusknoir retrieves out a tome, offering it to the fellow Mew for reading. It was not too large, easily held in the comfort of two hands, thin in pages overall. The yellow tint of the cover and the paper within hinted at its old age, wrinkled textures as Muy touched it. In the bold black indents, the title read “~Sacred City Laws~”. From there, the contents within were markedly short and as follows:
There shall be NO killing.
Brutality and other offensive actions such as bullying and name-calling are prohibited.
Mention or discussion of the former outside the realm of lawful disputes is taboo.
Because of the past historical reputation this holy land has received from neighboring powers, it has been deemed necessary that the above three statements are paramount to cleaning the tainted names bestowed upon us. In addition, mention of the unfortunate past events that have taken place are strongly discouraged.
As we strive to be considered above barbarism while maintaining tradition, the following limitations to our conduct is listed below: - Arguments may only escalate to the verbal level. - Honorable fights for the sake of settling disputes (claims over titles, bets, and rights to property or privileges) can take place. - Various formats over such fights can be allowed so long as they follow the restrictions listed. - Moderate violence in these fights are tolerated. - Knockouts can be done to conclude fights.
Upholding the divine tradition of our land is crucial to a brighter future for all. Failure from any one demon can result in repercussions that would lead to tighter laws, a fate no being would desire. Act reasonably. In the event these laws above and below are unclear, see the Council of Law for clarifications.
Only one name per citizen is allowed. No one is permitted to be known as more than one name. Once you have become known by a certain name in the land, you are not to change it. If an exception is strictly required, see the Council of Law to obtain one.
Do not speak of other lands while within this one. It is acceptable to bring possessions originating from foreign locations. However, mentioning such origins is not permitted if it violates the policy mentioned.
Do not speak negatively of others or instigate disputes publicly. If personal offense is caused, it must be dealt with in a private and civil manner. Likewise, do not speak of topics that are prone to causing such disputes.
Personal information is important and can lead to clashes and undesirable disputes; it is recommended that one does not reveal about oneself in an excessive degree.
Do not interfere with fights between other people without first obtaining permission from all currently involved in such fight. Create fights of your own accord with fellow partner and respectfully only observe all others.
GUIDELINES FOR FIGHTS: - Fight with true honor and respectful means. - Utilize reasonable moves, strategies, and sportsmanship. - Present your moves in a decent manner. - As a note to the above, if a move can be done in a way to enhance honor and respect, it is recommended to do so.

From the moment Muy saw the first law, he found himself doubting this entire endeavour. “Sorry….No Killing is the first law here?” It wasn’t that the law was not to be expected, but there was something in the phrasing of the law that made it sound only merely irritated at the killing that must have been going on in the city that necessitated the law in the first place. Its prominent placement seemed to strike an odd beginning and set an odd tone for the laws. Not only that, it made Muy wonder how safe the city Opheosis was taking him to truly was.
“This is a..a very fight-orientated city we’re headed to,” said Muy quizzically as he skimmed through the rules. “I guess these fights the other Mew was in were a big deal over there.” Sure enough, with few exception, the town’s rules revolved around the fights. Not entirely sure how long the journey would last, he looked a little closer at each of them.
Muy was an admittedly slow reader, and it took him a few minutes to get through the rules and understand exactly what each of them meant while simultaneously keeping pace Opheosis, floating with the Dusknoir using Psychic as Opheosis floated along using his own, unknown means. As the two floated along to the city, Muy peppered the Ghost-type with question after question as he deciphered the meaning of each Sacred Law.
“What’s with the name rule? That seems kind of weird, do people just change their names out of the blue?”
“What exactly is a moderate level of violence...sounds kinda ambigious,”
“Speaking of other lands? That seems like a bit of an odd rule”
“Is saying that I have amnesia and can’t remember my life revealing to an excessive degree?”
Muy hardly expected answers for all his questions, nor did he entirely realize he was talking. Eventually, he fell silent, mulling over the town, and his decision to visit it, albeit temporarily, in order to meet and talk with this other Mew. It seemed like an odd sort of place to live, a town that entirely revolved around fighting.
He was still mulling over the rules in his head when they came to a halt. The road dropped down to the city, giving the position Muy and Opheosis now floated over a view over the entire city. The city was built atop another hill, with a single great Classical building overlooking a long stretch of plains. Several small houses were set up around this magnificent, colonnaded facade. Above this pediment, another, slightly different second floor loomed above the Classical building. This floor was a tall, thin, turret-like building, with a great balcony overlooking the plains. Muy’s eyes darted from the massive building to the plains below. He gaped in surprise and awe. The plains below were filled with five massive arenas. From this distance, he could not quite make up what was in the circular arena’s themselves, where the other Mew among with countless other Pokemon must do battle, but he could make out the dozens of rows of stands surrounding each fighting ring.
Muy stared down at the arenas in stunned silence. Even the rules, that had focused nearly entirely on fighting, had not fully prepared him for this town. Looking down at the rows of stands, and felt something, some emotion stirring inside him that he could not quite recognize. There was a certain nervousness to it; that must have come from looking down at the imposing city, but there was more to it than nervousness, a kind of fondness. He did not quite know why he would feel fond of the town unless...He felt himself smiling. Surely he must have remembered the town facing him, yes, that must have been what he felt. Perhaps he’d come here before, he must have met the other Mew. This was excellent! If he remembered the town, surely the other Mew would remember him!
He turned to Opheosis, eagerly. “What is the name of this place,” he asked, turning to the Dusknoir, and then swiftly back to the arenas, unable to keep his eyes away from the view, still exploring the emotions it evoked from him, still not entirely understood.

“Hm?” the Dusknoir begins to the last question Muy posed. Throughout their short trek across the plains to the realm of gentle hills, he had been primarily dismissing the Mew’s mutterings. He hadn’t exactly been ignoring them, but his responses throughout the time had ranged from “Not a clue” to “It’s just the law” and even an “I guess” somewhere in the set of replies. However, to this inquiry about the town’s identity, that got him to actually pause and think. Well, not physically pause, as he already stopped walking for the two to just gaze over the landscape of the many buildings in this odd-yet-familiar civilization.
“This place? It’s a bit confusing I think. Confusing, uh,” the Dusknoir attempts the answer, a hand up a bit as he turns around to face from Muy, as if he wanted to get even the slightest bit of privacy to think of the right answer before facing the asker. “Confusing? Is it Confu- Confor- no, no… Oh!” With that, he whirls back around from the same direction as he addresses their conversation (if they could call it one).
“Aanakiak. It is called Aanakiak, yes,” he would finally announce, crossing his arms as he looks over Muy’s head and out into the view, dignified as he almost bellows such important information. “The pride and joy of the people living in the plains here, and where no part of the plains could possibly compete with. Let us find you a place to stay before we go get to some real business.”
Without giving Muy a chance to press for more information, Opheosis moves on with haste, hovering his way down the sloped path from the hill they stood on. The two make it to the bottom as the road flattens out, a small wooden fence to outline the borders of the city. Towering to their left and right would be cylindrical rock pillars, a small wooden door at the bottom for each, vertical slits at the top of the twin defense greeting them. As similar they looked, the sights were not identical, for the right side supported - at its peak - a Flareon. The canine was leaning against the stone indent atop, forearms crossed together for her head to rest upon, as if napping. However, she opened her eyes as Opheosis and Muy walked in, her gaze sideways to catch sight of them. She did not greet the two, her reaction kept only to a mild twinge in the corner of her mouth before her entire face returns to what it originally was: restful and apathetically disregarding.
This moment of tranquility finds itself disturbed, cheers erupting from the depths of Aanakiak. Boisterous cries and intelligible shouts originating from one of the arena. The noise takes time to die down, but the enthusiasm lingered within the air. On that note, the very road within the city they strolled along laid barren, not a soul to be caught in plain sight.

Muy looked out over the hill for a few moments longer, before whizzing down the ridge, speeding along only to catch up to Opheosis, slowing down significantly once he’d reached an appropriate distance from the Dusknoir, looking around at the green landscape as the two of them made their way towards the city’s aged gates. He stopped in front of them, and, after making sure he had good view of them, frowned, squinting carefully at them, searching his thoughts for some memory of them, hoping that he had in fact once been here, had one visited the town. Nothing came to mind. He sighed, and instantly set about reassuring himself. Perhaps in his travels he’d never truly stopped and stared at the gates as he had now.
He realized, with a start, that, somewhere on the gates, someone had been staring back at him. He looked a little further up and saw, perched lazily on top of the gate, a bright orange fox-like Pokemon with a bright yellow fur around her neck, on top of her head, and for her tail. She watching the Dusknoir and him with mild interest. He paused, and smiled up at the Flareon ...yes, Flareon, he thought to himself, that was what this vibrantly colored Pokemon was called. He was about to speak with it until he noticed that Opheosis had continued along his way down past the gates, and Mew flew off to follow him, sparing the Flareon another glance before flying down the path, quickly catching up with Opheosis.
Muy floated through the entrance gate and found himself and Opheosis on the road Aanakiak. It was a wide, well-worn road, once straight and even but now sloping and rugged after however many years it had been by the thousands of Pokemon who had passed down this road, up and down from the vast stadiums even now roaring their enjoyment as Pokemon did battle.
The road itself, however, was oddly quiet, dwarfed by the massive arenas that stood on both sides of it, making the small Mew feel even smaller as he floated behind Opheosis. While the Dusknoir kept his path straight, moving determinedly towards his destination, whatever lodging he knew about to find for him, Muy’s path was far less focused. He darted from edge of the road to edge of the road, not daring to stray off the path, trying to take in as much as possible. He could see, despite all of his attempts, nothing of the fight itself, but he listened carefully for the sounds of whatever Pokemon doing battle sounded like, but to no avail, the roar of the audiences far eclipsed the sounds the Pokemon fighting must have made. He darted from the edge of the road closest to one stadium to the next, but he was never quite able to make out the sounds of battle. He floated back over to Opheosis, and continued on their way to the city, still very curious about the stadium, throwing glances backwards at them every opportunity he got.

The Dusknoir would turn around and look behind him, seeing Muy trail behind for some time, wandering around the main road they walked on. Admittedly, the sight irritated him, Opheosis having expected Muy to just follow right behind like a simpleton. It doesn’t matter in the end, but he never liked people who don’t do only what they’re told. Those sorts of folk tend to be bothersome and get in his way all the time, and Aanakiak was notoriously stacked with such demons. Still, the amount of coin he could gather with the noble events held in this region provided him the mettle to tolerate such rebellious rascals running rampant right into his many meticulous machinations for success.
The hovering being halts before a door to a wooden construct, towering over the two of them at perhaps three or four stories high, possibly by necessity, as a lodge like this can be relatively considered a beanpole with its lacking girth. The exterior hinted at the long absence of someone to keep it maintained, a board here and there splotched with rot. Even the door had no indication of being secured in place, easily swinging open thanks to the light pull of the gray hand that was Opheosis’s. It would be at that point, Muy could definitely see it had no lockset or even a latch bolt.
Having opened the entrance, the Dusknoir goes in first, but he need not hold the door to let Muy come in as well, given that the hinges were not springed to yank the door back to its original position. From there lied a moderately bare lobby, only a table and a few chairs to serve as the common area. They would be the only two standing within the space until another joins their company, hauling a full bucket of water close to its chest, a mop curled up in a slender striped tail, red orb dangling at the end. This woman looks towards them as her rear appendage sets the stick to lean against the wall, a toothy grin showing up as she walks over before them.
“Opheosis. I see you’re back once more. With a new acquaintance no less,” her greeting comes with the thud of a lowered filled bucket onto the floor. However, as she does this, her line of sight doesn’t move from them, the Electric type glancing up as her body bends down momentarily before she resumes her speech. “He’s kind of cute to boot. Are you expecting me to house him?”
“Aye. There’s room here, right? The same rent as last time for the previous guy.”
“No way,” she immediately answers, patting her cheek lightly as her eyelids lower. Something about her tone indicated she doesn’t take the Dusknoir seriously in the slightest. “The last lackey you brought in here didn’t even last a month, and that took so much of my time setting up the place. Also, the rest of the places here are also getting more expensive, so I too have to-”
“Charge more? For this place?” Opheosis growls, arm sweeping around him to direct to their surroundings. “There is hardly anything here, thanks to all that you haven’t done for this lodge. At least the other places have some sort of actual caretaker-”
“That so? Then go speak to them. You’re not going to find anyone willing to go for three pieces of copper a night,” she interrupts, the grin elevating at the corners as she leans forward a tad, the other hand now resting at her waist. “Or even seven, where your other-”
“Shh! Shh! Okay, okay! I get it!” the Dusknoir exclaims, his hovering moved forward as his hands defensively go up to get her to quiet down on the matter. “Three a night! I’ll start off with an advance of fifteen from my sack.”
“Aye, those be the magic words~ I’ll get a room for the handsome lad here. Hey,” she calls at Muy, back to standing tall once again. From her cheek, her hand reaches out to the levitating critter. “This is your first time here, right? Welcome to Pocket Inn. I’m your caretaker Amalyria. Pleased to have another one join my motley crew here~”

As they passed the stadiums and stepped into the city, a flurry of residences sprung forth to greet them. Large, wide houses, each one close to the other, each looking like respectable buildings, the great Classical Building towering over all of them. Muy looked carefully at each house as he followed Opheosis on his way towards the building he was looking for. Once he found it, he gave it a long, analytical stare. To say that was dissatisfied with the quality of the inn would have been an understatement. The house was shabby, poorly maintained (if at all), especially when compared the buildings on the main road he’d seen. Muy didn’t even try to see if he remembered this unsavory building, there was no way he could have possibly come from a place like this. Still, this would be a welcome discomfort if it meant rediscovering his identity. He would be willing to spend time in these poor quarters, if it meant meeting this Mew, and finding out about who he was.
He looked in dismay at the piece of wood somehow connected to the wall that could only barely pass for a door, and floated past it. There he found himself in the dilapidated entrance hall. He floated above the little table, watching as the landlady, a tall, yellow, Electric type, walked over to them, its long tail clasping a mop. She looked him over, and he shied back, a little nervous.
He blushed as she called him cute. This Ampharos was not exactly what he’d call cute. She had a certain lazy, slovenly look to her, though perhaps that lay in the fact that she was clearly mid-mopping as she haggled with Opheosis. He kept quiet as the two of them argued, he himself having no idea how much money anything was worth. He wasn’t sure if this intense a haggling was simply the custom of this particular town, or if Amalyria and Opheosis simply didn’t get along. Deciding that it would best to let Opheosis do the haggling, Muy set about looking at his surroundings. There was very little to them. The bare table he hovered over had aged terribly, with great cracks through it so deep he could see straight through them, cracks that seemed oddly unnatural, as if some great tooth had been dug through it. The stark chairs looked as though they had been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt by an increasingly shoddy builder. No, this did not seem to be a very safe part of the city, or a particularly reliable establishment. But, he supposed, Opheosis trusted it, and he trusted Opheosis.
Amalyria turned to Muy and offered her a fingerless arm, who was taken aback for a second. Then he realized that, as he’d been pondering the room and haggling customs of Aanakiakians, Opheosis and Amalyria had reached a deal. He reached out, his tiny hand barely able to clasp the Ampharos’ arm, and shook. “I’m...looking forward to spending some time in this town,” he said, trying to sound happy about living here.
