Kaa untied himself from the trees, deciding to go for a swim. He slithered over to the riverbank, and dipped in. He floated along the surface of the water, slithering along and feeling the sensation of the water against his belly and the sun against his back. He swam up and down the river, as he didn't come here often and it was a good opportunity. Since Mowgli was here now though, Kaa thought that he might become less of a nomad and stay near this river. It was good for a food source, since the fruit trees could drink deep from the river, that didn't involve hypnotizing small animals to eat, which was something Kaa didn't want Mowgli to see, as she might either get scared or get angry with him for hurting other jungle creatures. She had been brought up in the jungle after all, so she probably liked the animals that lived there, having grown up with them.

Mowgli watched Kaa swim on the water's surface, as she waited for her hair to dry in the bright warming sun "how do you swim like that Kaa?" She asked curiously, even though she had her memories replaced for now there was stuff she obviously didn't know and naturally would be curious.

(Don't take this as fact, this is only based on my very limited understanding of snake biology)
Kaa was broken out of thought by Mowgli's question. "Hmm? Oh, well, I stop using my ventral scales, which let me slither on a solid surface, and I use my tail like a paddle on the water. It's not as effective as a water-snake, who don't have any ventral scales and have tails specially shaped like paddles, but it works well enough. I'm just pushing myself about on the water as I float. If you lie on your back in the water you can do similarly." He explained to her. He came back up onto the river bank, slithering up to where she was drying to let himself dry out too, turning over onto his back so that his wet belly was exposed. He looked up at her, now upside down. "Of course, I don't use my ventral scales all that often either. I tend to use my coils to climb from branch to branch, kind of like a monkey does but my coils are longer and are much better suited." He continued, sighing happily as he basked in the sun.

(XD you don't need to be factual)
Mowgli smiled "cool..." She said looking impressed, "your coils are awesome" she added reaching her hand out and stroking along his side.

He undulated them slightly so she could feel the space between the scale expand and contract, and feel the rectangular ventral scales pushing him along, using her hand as a surface. "Well you certainly seem to like them when I coil you up." He said in return to her compliment. "Speaking of that, do you want me to show you the colours? The ones that make you feel so relaxed and peaceful?" Kaa asked. Here was the moment of truth - would she have accepted that part of the story as well? He felt pretty confident considering that she had accepted most elements of the story so far.

Mowgli smiled then blinked at Kaa's words then smiled widely "YES!" She said in pure excitement "I love the colours they are so pretty and they feel really nice too" she added, which was just what the snake wanted to hear.

"Oh excellent, it seems you love receiving the colours almost as much as enjoy giving them!" Kaa replied eagerly. He quickly flipped over onto his belly so he was the right way up again, and coiled himself around her neck with the stretch of coil just under his head, so that their necks were intertwined and his head was connected right next to hers, and began spilling out his spirals out of his eyes. He didn't push them too hard, since Mowgli wouldn't try to escape them this time he didn't need to spin them too fast - after all, this time she was trying with all her might to give in, where as previously she was trying to resist. "Make sure you look nice and deep now - the deeper you look, the nicer you'll feel." He whispered, he was almost right next to her ear after all. It felt like it was for old time's sake too, when he used to have to coax her into accepting the spirals. Since the spirals made her more receptive to his words too, maybe hearing them would make her feel good as well.

Mowgli kept still as Kaa coiled himself around her neck so their heads were somewhat close, she stared straight into his eyes, seeing the spirals unlike the last two encounters she held no resistance and allowed her eyes to spiral instantly, hearing Kaa's words she sighed a blissful sigh her small smile not falling from her face as already the spirals affected her mind making her feel so nice.

"Let's get you coiled up, shall we?" Kaa asked, somewhat rhetorically as even as he said this he began wrapping his coils around her, squeezing her not-too-tight, but hopefully just right. He grinned wider seeing her smile, knowing that this time the smile wasn't just a side-effect of the hypnosis. "You know, Mowgli, once you're sufficiently entranced you reach a 'ping!' moment. After that moment, you probably won't remember what happens, so maybe you should resist me a little so it lasts longer. I'll take it nice and slow for you, unless you want to 'ping!' now, of course. I imagine it feels quite nice when it happens, judging by how much you smile when you reach that point." Kaa told her, leaning close so that their noses were touching, eyes mere centimetres apart.

Mowgli held nice and still for Kaa, not caring one bit about his coils surrounding her, hearing Kaa telling her to resist made her a little confused, she wanted to feel nice why would she resist? It didn't matter anyway, the closeness of Kaa was too much for her weak unresisting mind and with a *ping* her eyes widened with fast moving spirals and her smile widened.

Well, I guess those will be her last memories of the day. My spirals must be too much for her to handle. Kaa mused on this, still sending spirals through his eyes. "Let's go back to the tree, then." Kaa said, and began moving from tree to tree, being slow and careful since he was carrying Mowgli in his coils. He was eager to get back to try out the next thing he had in mind: seeing just how deep he could make a trance go. Since Mowgli had a more complex mind than most of Kaa's prey, such as mice, she could be brought into a much deeper trance. Also, a mouse made much less interesting company than the girl-cub, whom it would be a waste to eat, Kaa felt.

Mowgli watched the spirals happily in total bliss, unknowing of Kaa's next plan for her.

At last they arrived back at the tree. Kaa set her down in her cocoon on the branch, and leaned back against the trunk. He dragged the cocoon forward so that her eyes were closer to his again, and started pumping out his spirals faster. He looked at her with glee as he saw that her mind was already mush, and he was going to mash it even further into mushiness.
"Fall deeper, but don't sssleep." Kaa began, hissing his 's's to make a soft yet invasive sound that he often found conducive to hypnosis. "The deeper you go, the warmer you feel... But right now you're freezing. You feel like ice. You cannot help but ssshiver, you are ssso cold. You need to dessscend deeper to become warm again. You're ssso cold, you feel like your fingersss could drop off. Nothing could make you feel colder." Kaa whispered in a low voice, making sure his voice was soft and calm.

Mowgli continued to stare into the spirals, not that she had much of a choice, her body began to shiver, she was feeling really cold, all she wanted was to feel nice and be warm, so she continued staring her mind falling down, further and further, the spirals picking up in her eyes.

"Very good, little Mowgli. You are so sssmall compared to the endlessss deepnessss of the coloursss, of the ssspiralsss, but if you go deep enough you will at lassst feel warm. At the moment though, you have only just sssaved your fingersss from freezing off. Feel yourself sssssshiver, you need to plunge deep, deep, deep into the ssspirals to feel their warmth. You're at the cave entrance, you must go deeper. And deeper. And deeper. The world is darkening around you from how cold it is. Deep inssside thisss cave is a roaring fire. Keep going towardsss it, Mowgli. Go to the center of the cave, find the fire." Kaa went on, creating imagery in her head to help accelerate her descent. She was doing incredibly well, but he wanted to push her to go as fast and as deep as she could go. Once she couldn't get any further into trance, he could check it by seeing how she felt in terms of the imagery he had created: if she felt cold still, that would be as deep as she could go. And if she went all the way to maximum heat, he'd send her on a journey to cool herself off instead. If a second 'ping!' existed, this was how to find it.
