Mowgli felt herself slide down now on her back she stopped walking, her mind was confused on how this happened but it decided it was better to not question it, she stared out at nothing her mind a happy blissful mess, hearing Kaa tell her to close her eyes and rest, made her mind very tired, and so she obeyed, her eyes closing as she was starting to fall toward a deep sleep, still smiling happily but still open to any commands.

Kaa was thinking about how he had enjoyed conversing with Mowgli earlier. He didn't often talk to entranced victims, so he was curious as to what sort of things they might say without him telling them specifically what to say. He pondered on what he could get Mowgli to talk about. I feel like some praise at the moment, he decided. "Mowgli, tell me, what do you think of me?" Kaa asked her, gently swinging the coil from side to side like a hammock. He plucked her arms up by her wrists and placed them on her stomach so that they didn't hang off the sides, which he thought would feel quite uncomfortable - even though Mowgli wouldn't mind, he felt a little obligated to make sure she felt comfortable, since she was being so nice and doing everything he said (even if she wouldn't necessarily do so normally, Kaa added to himself mentally).

Mowgli hearing Kaa asking her what she thought about him she replied with the only truth her entranced brain knew "your nice...You keep me safe, I trust you and depend on you..." She replied feeling herself being rocked which only made her more sleepy causing a small yawn to be released from her mouth.

Kaa smiled at this. It was rare that a denizen of the jungle said anything nice to him or about him. Why he hadn't thought of getting his mesmerized servants to compliment him before, he couldn't tell - it felt so good! But already Kaa was on to thinking about the next thing. Could he alter a victim's memory outside of trance? If he could, it would be extremely useful. So, he turned to talk to Mowgli again. "Thank you very much, girl-cub. Now then, why don't I tell you a story, hmm?" Kaa cleared his throat. "Once upon a time, a little girl-cub met a big, kind snake. She was being forced to go to the man-village by a nasty black panther, who was old and mean and didn't know what was best for the little girl-cub. But the big snake came and made her forget all her stress, and was going to take her away to live in the jungle. But the panther stopped the snake's nice spirals, and the girl-cub, deprived of the truth the spirals gave her, was tricked by the mean panther into kicking the snake out of the tree." Kaa cleared his throat again, preparing the next part of the story in his head.

Mowgli hearing Kaa telling her he was going to tell her a story, she paid very close attention, she absorbed his story, she remembered their last encounter, Bagheera was quite mean for hurting Kaa and this made her feel really guilty for pushing him out of the tree.

"The girl-cub was so upset that the evil panther had tricked her into hurting the kind snake, that she ran away from the nasty panther to try and find the snake again. Luckily, she did, and the snake was willing to forgive her. When the girl-cub came to his tree, she asked to be brought up into it, she trusted the snake immediately, and she asked the snake to show her the pretty spirals again. She trusted him completely and wanted to stay with him in the jungle forever. The end." Kaa finished. He would wait for her to wake in the morning, when the trance should have worn off, assuming it wasn't much deeper than he thought it was, and see if she trusted him without needing to be hypnotized again. Of course he would hypnotize her again, he wanted to keep playing with her mind, but this time if all went well she'd give in willingly. So, the next step was to finish what he started last night and put her to sleep.
"Now that you've heard the story, girl-cub, don't you feel so sssleepy? With every swing of my coil, it must get harder and harder to stay awake, mustn't it? Why hang on to the waking world when a peaceful world of sssleep awaits you, Mowgli? Embrace it and sink deep, deep down into ssslumber..." Kaa suggested to her, swinging further but still slowly and gently.

Hearing the end made Mowgli happy, finding Kaa again was the best thing to happen to her, she absorbed his story as truth, her trust in the snake growing, feeling even more tired than before she yawned again at the mere mention of sleep, her mind didn't resist and with a quiet snore coming out of her mouth showed she had fallen into a deep slumber.

Kaa smiled, and threw a few loops of coil over her like a blanket. Having given such a story, he felt quite protective of the 'little girl-cub' that he'd talked about. He leaned down and kissed her on the forehead. "Sleep tight, little Mowgli." He whispered to her. Then, yawning himself, he went to lie in his tree. The day wasn't over yet, but he had gotten him and Mowgli under the shade of the tree, and seeing her so sleepy had made him feel quite tired himself. He fell asleep a little while later, his coil bed on which Mowgli was resting still gently swinging from side to side.

Mowgli slept peacefully until tomorrow came. The morning sun rose and casted light in Mowgli's eyes, she groaned as she opened her eyes and saw the coil hammock she was laying on, she yawned as she sat up stretching her arms, thanks to the story she truly thought Kaa was her friend.

Kaa felt the movement on his coils, and got up quickly, eager to see if his experiment had worked. He plucked a couple of bananas from a nearby tree and started making his way over to Mowgli. On his way, he picked up a large bit of bark that had fallen to the ground with his tail, and set one of the bananas on it. Still moving towards her, he tried to peel the banana with his tail, but he could feel that it wasn't going to work. He didn't need to peel his, so he didn't have much practice peeling bananas. He reached the coil bed where Mowgli had awoken, and presented the banana on the bark platter to her. "Hello Mowgli. Feel like breakfast?" He asked, watching her closely to see if his story had worked and changed her memories.

Mowgli smiled seeing the food "thank you Kaa" she said happily taking the banana and peeling it, starting to eat, it seemed so considering she showed no fear to the snake.

Kaa grinned. She had looked straight at him, and had smiled at him too. Both things she hadn't done before without rings spinning through her eyes. This was about as much confirmation as he needed.
"You're welcome, little Mowgli." He said, ruffling her hair, now knowing that this time she wouldn't shy away from him. He popped the banana into his mouth whole, and swallowed it down. Humans were such weak creatures, having to peel off the skin of the banana before eating it - thinking that just made him feel more protective of Mowgli, though.
"You're hair's a bit rough, do you want to go to the river to wash it?" He asked. He was fairly confident that all of his story had sunk in, but the nail in the coffin would be seeing if she agreed to be hypnotized. He'd do that after she bathed if she wanted to go to the river, otherwise he'd ask her now.

Mowgli giggled when Kaa ruffled her hair, she blinked at Kaa and felt her own hair "if you think so, sure" she said with a smile.

It would be a little awkward to try and carry her all the way to the river, so once she was finished Kaa swallowed her banana peel and gently set her down on the ground. He switched from tree to tree, moving his long and complex body through the forest ceiling, but despite threading himself through many various twists and turns of branches and leaves, he kept his head down at Mowgli's level, as if he were walking along with her. Soon, they reached the river, and Kaa tied himself between two tree trunks to rock himself like a hammock, relaxing while he let Mowgli go to the river.

Mowgli walked toward the river she ran once she saw it, taking a deep breath she dunked her head into the water, she only had this pair of clothes so she couldn't afford to get them wet, she took her head out with her hair wet, using her hand she began to brush through her hair to make it slightly less tangled and rough.
