In the deep Indian jungle a baby girl was abandoned, the panther Bagheera took her to the wolves who raised the young cub as their own. The cub known as Mowgli began to grow up and the wolves knew it was time to send her home.
So Mowgli gladly agreed even though she would miss her family, and so Bagheera agreed to take her as far as possible, they travelled through the day until night came. "Come along Mowgli, we can climb this tree to rest" Bagheera said, Mowgli smiled "okay, I can do it" she said as she carefully climbed the tall tree to the nearest branch, Bagheera jumping up "I'm proud of you Mowgli, you've grown up so well" he said as he yawned and laid down, Mowgli snapped off a nearby twig "thanks Bagheera" she said as she began fiddling with it, the two unknowing of the danger that lurked in the same tree.

Higher up in the foliage of the tall tree, sleeping under the light of the moon, was Kaa, snoring peacefully. Or at least he would be, were it not for the murmurings going on down below. Kaa stirred, not being able to make out what was being said, but annoyed all the same. He shook himself awake and peered down at what he assumed would be some impertinent creatures daring to make noise at this time. His angry expression quickly shifted gears to surprise as he noticed an uncommon creature indeed. A female man-cub, sitting on a large outbranch of the tree. In his eagerness to investigate he almost rushed down recklessly, but just then he noticed Bagheera. Ah well, Kaa thought to himself, he's not a threat to me. And so Kaa continued down, lowering himself to about head height with the girl-cub. He cleared his throat. "What have we here?"

Mowgli looked over to the new voice to see the snake, she had never seen him before, she knew better than to talk to strangers. With Kaa closer he could see her dark skinned body she wore red briefs and a short red top, her short black hair looking almost messy. She tried to ignore the snake by looking away.

Kaa was a little put out at being ignored. Anger he could deal with, niceness, although rare, was always welcome, but being ignored was new.
"It's impolite not to say hello, you know" He said in a conversational tone, placing the tip of his coil around her head, trying to coax it around to face him. In case she decided to lash out at him, he secured himself along the branch by wrapping himself around it, so he would be braced for a sudden impact. He rather hoped she wouldn't be so rude as to hit him however. "Come on, I'll introduce myself. I am Kaa, the mighty python! Who might you be?" Kaa continued, feigning manners as an excuse to try and ensnare the girl-cub.

Mowgli just swatted at the tail tip not wanting the strange snake to touch her, she didn't wish to be rude but he was a stranger and her mom told her to never talk to strangers, "go away" she said in a quiet tone not wanting to wake the panther and though it didn't wake him, it was loud enough for him to quietly reply "I can't leave Mowgli...Just go to sleep" he said unknowing of the snake.

Kaa giggled at the response the panther gave. "What a silly old panther, eh?" He chuckled, looking over at the tired jungle cat on the other end of the branch. He pulled his tail away when the girl-cub swatted it. He'd expected a fiercer outburst if anything, but who knew, it was a strange man-creature after all. Having failed to make her look at him, he took the other approach and swerved his head round to face hers. He didn't start sending spirals through his eyes yet, he didn't want to alert any suspicions she might have, depending on how much Bagheera had told her about the various dangers of the jungle. "Look, see, we can get to know each other." Kaa said, still pretending to be like a friendly neighbour inquiring in on a new arrival to the neighbourhood. It was just to try and get her to lower her guard, of course, but Kaa always found a fun role to play.

Mowgli turned around on the branch to face the snake "I'm not allowed to talk to strangers" she said quietly, she didn't have much of a guard up except just being annoyed that the snake was disturbing them.

"We don't have to be strangers, girl-cub." He chuckled softly. He began sending spirals through his eyes now, swaying his head back and forth, so that even if she turned away he had the momentum to follow her. He didn't try moving his coils nearer to her yet, he'd wait till the spirals distracted her and then move in. "We already know each other, now. You're Mowgli, and I'm Kaa. It's nice to meet you." He said, still going with his little charade. It didn't have much of an effect, but what the heck, he was having fun.

Mowgli glared even when Kaa's eyes began to spiral, she obviously had no clue what they were, her pupils began to shrink as she followed his swaying head, she was a little confused on what the snake was doing, it wasn't long below slow moving spirals appeared in her eyes "Kaa?" She repeated his words did speak a sense of truth, they did know each other now.

"Yes, very good. I'm Kaa." Kaa said to her rather patronizingly, nodding exaggeratedly to make her head bob along with his as if they were nodding in agreement. Now that her attention was focused on his eyes, he shifted his coils a bit closer. He reached out with the tip of his coil, arching it around so as not to obstruct Mowgli's view, and gave an experimental ruffle of her hair. Being in the jungle where there are no baths or haircare to speak of, Mowgli's hair was a little rough, but Kaa wouldn't know that. Compared to animal fur, it was quite soft, and Kaa found it quite intriguing that it should be so long, as he tried twirling strands of it. He moved the more trunklike portion of his coils up along the tree branch, trying to gently push them underneath Mowgli's feet. "It's getting quite late, Mowgli." Kaa said, addressing her by name to seem more personable, as opposed to 'girl-cub'. "Aren't you feeling tired? Maybe it's time you start thinking about sleeping." He suggested. It would take a bit of time for the suggestions to sink in since she wasn't under yet, but might as well start now, since Bagheera was nearby.

Mowgli followed Kaa's head bob, she didn't seem to notice Kaa's tail tip ruffling her hair, her only attention was the spirals as continued spinning and twirling such pretty colours. Hearing Kaa's words about it getting late and asking if she was tired started making her feel sleepy, she moaned weakly in reply.

Kaa giggled at her weak moan, but maintained eye contact. He moved his tail tip down from her head to her toes, and tried to pry them up to let his loop of coil in underneath them. He'd start coiling her from the ankles up, now that her attention was averted from the rest of reality.
"Sleep is endless and bottomless. Like a deep pit. Imagine if you could see a succession of rings, all converging on a single point, sinking down forever... Wouldn't that be like the long fall into sleep?" Kaa began monologuing, becoming less ambiguous the more Mowgli's consciousness drowned in the endless whirlpool of his colourful spirals. He craned his head further forward, angling his head downward so that there was less of his head in the line of sight between her eyes and his, the only tunnel of vision that appeared to be of any interest to Mowgli at the moment.

Mowgli kept very still as Kaa lifted up her feet, not seeming to notice or care as she continued staring, it was made so much easier by Kaa coming closer to her face, his talk of sleep and sinking only made her feel more tired, the spirals in her eyes picked up slightly in speed as her mind was falling pretty well.

Kaa stuck his coil in underneath her feet like a door-wedge, and moved up his coil-tip to hold her chin, wondering how she would react if he kept on weaving to and fro with his head whilst he held her head still. He noticed the spirals pick up speed in the girl-cubs lit up eyes, and took that as his cue to start coiling. He pulled the coil tip away from Mowgli's chin temporarily to unwrap some of the loops of coil around the tree branch and begin making the first loop around her legs, leaving the single coil loop under her feet and moving the coil tip back to Mowgli's chin.
"Time to leave the waking world behind, Mowgli. Time to lazily drift off into the land of sleep, serene and peaceful, silent and welcoming. You are such a good girl-cub, you will sink down into a slumber for me, won't you Mowgli?" Kaa continued, talking in a soft, low and flat voice, to coax her into a deep, sleepy trance. Just a little more, Kaa thought, and she's mine.

Mowgli didn't seem to notice his coils starting to wrap her up, with the eyes so close she didn't have to weave her own head but her eyes followed his every move, the bobbing action made her more sleepy, her eyes drooped at the sound of sleep again, they closed only for them to reopen half way wanting to keep the spirals in her sight.
