As she leaned back to stare into Kumi's eyes, Layla's forked tongue flickered gently against the girl's cheek. She blinked slowly, letting the hypnotic glow of her eyes reflect on the girl's again as her hands cupped and caressed her cheeks. Kumi's compliance caused a warm shiver to run up and down Layla's spine, both Layla's could feel it which only caused the Lamia's to curl in a slightly unsettling grin. Her tail kept coiling up Kumi's body, like a tender hug intended to restrain and support Kumi's body. "Feel your body relaxing... let numbness wash over your legs and arms. There's no need to go anywhere. There's no safer place for a little sleepy Kumi than my embrace" Layla's coils began to subtly cradle the sleepy girl. Back and forth... "Awake or asleep... you'll follow Layla. You'll follow me. It feels right to do as I say. It feels good~" A melodious chuckle left Layla's lips. "It's only natural. You're unexperienced after all. Layla knows much more about the world than you do so it's only natural to trust my words much more than your trust your own thoughts. Defying my words requires effort..." Another chuckle left her lips. Layla's coils moved to rest in a loose loop on Kumi's shoulders. "Defying my words tire your mind... Defying my words makes you sleepy"
The sudden sound of footsteps made Layla's ears perk up right before falling silent. Concealed behind the bushes she was sure it was unlikely any villager would interrupt them, all she had to do was let Kumi enjoy the pretty colours on her eyes and wait. She sighed, even though nobody saw them she was sure that her aunt would be back in the hut too. She and Kumi had little time left even though the night was still young. She glanced back at the path over her shoulder, thinking of her next move. If she wanted to be free she needed to be sneaky, surely her aunt won't be as easy as Kumi. Another sigh left her lips as she took in the sight of the girl in her coils. There was only one thing left to do with her... "My presence comforts you... My presence elicits feels of trust and compliance..." She kept pouring words into Kumi's ears, hissing and caressing... Making a backdoor for her to use later. "You'll remember the hissing... You'll remember my touch... Faint memories of a lovely dream you had. Even if you can't quite say what it was." The Lamia's coil moved up, the tip approaching Kumi's forehead. "You can't resist it... It's sooo easy to put you back to sleep. Whenever you're reminded of the dream... Whenever Layla tells you to be a sleepy little Kumi..." Suddenly, Layla's tail poked between Kumi's forehead. In perfect sync, a stronger ring of deep green lit her eyes. "... you'll go to sleep... You'll fall back into this lovely trance for me. Do you understand?"

As Layla's words described Kumi's body relaxing and numbing, Kumi's body responded, making the words real. Then the phrase 'little sleepy Kumi' - Kumi's mind absorbed these like a sponge, and it pushed out every last thought of her own. Everything Kumi was thinking now belonged to Layla, as did Kumi's body. "No defying... Sleepy..." Kumi agreed in a happy monotone. Then Layla started whispering in her ears, combined with copious caressing and hissing - Kumi listened with more rapt attention than she ever could have awake, an open blank book in which Layla could write whatever she desired. Every word that Layla spoke now, Kumi memorised. Then, the seal on her fate - 'sleepy little Kumi', the tail pressing on her forehead and crossing her eyes as she watched it, and the bright ring of gorgeous melting green shining onto her eyes... The instructions that mistress Layla had given Kumi, memorised to the letter, even the exact intonations that Layla used, were now etched deeply into Kumi's mind, and all these memories obediently locked themselves away in the singularly beautiful phrase of 'sleepy little Kumi'. Kumi nodded obediently as mistress Layla asked her if she understood. "Sleepy little Kumi understands, mistress. You comfort me, you haunt my loveliest dreams. I will trust you, I will comply with you - I'll remember the hisssssing, and the touch of the cool, smooth coils... I will be unable to resist. I will go to sleep when I am told..." Kumi repeated at length, eager to show how precisely she remembered - then her eyes gently closed, with an involuntary yawn. All the talk about sleepy little Kumi and sleeping and being unable to resist sleep had made the highly suggestible damsel quite tired indeed, and she was beginning to drift away into la-la land already.

More shivers ran up and down Layla’s body, she could feel it… Just like Layla in her mind, Kumi had been pushed to the verge of mindlessness. A thrilling sensation that she was tasting for the first time. And then… “You will stand up for me… you will guide me to your hut… sleepy and obedient… dreaming of the pretty colours of my eyes even when you can’t see them. Your muscles will react to my commands, numb when commanded, normal otherwise.” Gently, Layla allowed Kumi’s feet to rest on the lush of the jungle again. Her tail began to unwrap from the girl’s body soon after. “Smile… sleepwalk for me little sleepy Kumi. Your hammock misses you~ and you loooove obeying…”
Layla’s tail moved back to rest on the ground, stretching a bit. She glanced at the moon, it was really beautiful, it made her smile… it made her think of all the nights she had spent in the city. A deep sigh left her as she began to follow Kumi, suddenly struck by thoughtfulness, her mind filled memories of all those times she felt out of place. Even among her friends, even when she was supposed to enjoy herself and the party, club, bar or whatever place she was in. That feeling would haunt her. Why was saying ‘no’ so hard… She had been looking for something for a long time. Something that had eluded her but for some reason what happened that night gave her a small glimpse of what could be what she had been looking for. The sight of the hut nearby made Layla snap out of it. She looked around as if to make sure it was safe to proceed into the hut. She stepped in, allowing Kumi to guide her towards their room. Layla slithered under Kumi’s hammock and from the other side, she beckoned at the girl with her tail, helping her to hop on the hammock. She smiled and her midriff hoovered over the girl.
“You did wonderfully tonight little sleepy Kumi… Now you can relax again… you’re sleepy and soon you’ll be dreaming again.” The tip of her tail fixed Kumi’s hair and then a barrage of hypnotic rings lit Layla’s eyes again. “You will dream of my eyes… you will dream of out little encounter…. The memories leaving your mind as soon as the dream is over just to start again with Layla staring into the red moon… The dream will loop, soothing your little sleepy mind… brainwashing you further and further… you will only wake up once Layla’s phone alarm goes off.” Layla began to cradle Kumi and the hammock, smiling while still staring deeply into the girl’s eyes. “When Layla asks about her glasses you will hear it… my voice, calling you… making you a little sleepy Kumi again. You will hiss just like me… you will take Layla back to the place where we met so she can find her glasses… those glasses are important. You know it now, Layla’s eyes are sooo pretty… soo hypnotic. Staring into them puts you back under a lovely trance of Layla wants so…. Only the glasses will protect you from Layla’s hypnotic gaze. Do you understand?”

Kumi nodded obediently as she stood, and began slowly putting one bare foot in front of the other. Every muscle in her body bound itself to Layla's words like strings on a puppet. As Layla said to smile, Kumi smiled, and as she smiled, she closed her eyes. "I love to obey you..." She moaned, only half awake, as she slowly sleepwalked her way back to the hut. As they got near the hut, Kumi raised her arms, walking like a zombie - but it was so she didn't bump into anything. Kumi nodded again at the beckoning of the tail, understanding the simple, wordless command. As she lay herself in the hammock, Kumi opened her eyes again to stare at Layla's midriff, the navel bobbing and weaving along with Layla's snakelike motions in a manner that was passive, but still highly hypnotic to the already brain-drained Kumi. Kumi gasped as the spirals began anew, trying to lift her face closer to the spirals at first, but as she was told to be sleepy, she lay back down reluctantly. She listened extremely carefully to her instructions, memorising all of them in exact detail, and felt pleasurable chills making butterflies in her stomach as she felt each instruction wrap tightly around her mind, squeezing tightly like the coils of a snake, tighter and tighter until the instructions sank so deeply into her subsconscious that only the Lamia could get them out again. "Sleepy little Kumi will wake up when Layla's phone alarm goes off... Sleepy little Kumi will awaken when she hears about the glasses, and guide Layla to them, to protect me from her... I only want you as my mistress, sleepy little Kumi will protect herself from Layla..." Kumi repeated back to the Lamia in a half-whispered murmur. "Sleepy little Kumi... Underssssstandssss..." She hissed at last, her eyes closing shut again.

Layla leaned closer, to plant one last goodnight kiss on Kumi's cheek before leaning back. She stretched her arms and tail, it seemed like despite not being sleepy, her body was growing more tired by the second... It was only normal, Layla still wasn't used to it. She smiled before chuckling and mumbling for herself.
She just needs some practice. And fortunately for us... there's plenty of time for that~
A chuckling hiss left her lips. For a second, her eyes moved to the window as thoughts of all the fun things she would be able to do once free from the villagers filled her mind. She approached the window... entertaining the idea of hunting down another villager. Perhaps her aunt would be next on her list. With her out of the way, enthralled just like Kumi exploring the rest of the village would be much easier. As Layla approached the window she could feel exhaustion growing even more... Perhaps the way Layla had to resist the Lamia's influence.
Whatever the case it was, Layla moved to lay on the hammock which was a tad too small for her. Her midriff rested on the soft cotton of the hammock while her long tail remained on the floor, drawing a wide "S". She yawned, resting her hand on her arms. It was more evident that she wouldn't be able to stay awake much longer. And just like that... The Lamia fell asleep. A wide, satisfied smile adorning her face as she peacefully drifted into slumber herself. Eventually, the tail and the transformation would revert by the morning and considering how deeply asleep Kumi was nothing could go wrong...
The first sunbeams of the day caressed up Layla's left leg which was hanging from the edge of the Hammock. Her messy hair and smile showed off how pleasant her slumber was, if not for the familiar and mildly annoying tone of her cellphone's alarm she would have slept all morning. Upon hearing the alarm, a frown drew on her face. Her eyes slowly opening just to meet the blurry image of the ceiling. She stretched her arms and legs and for a few minutes, she would allow herself to enjoy the last bits of drowsiness. She rubbed her eyes lazily before glancing at Kumi's hammock. Even though she hadn't enjoy the festival as much as she would have expected it certainly seemed like Kumi had a great time. She giggled before leaning back to glance at the ceiling once more, her legs kicking playfully as her mind wandered to all the fun things she and her cousin could do that day.

As the goodnight kiss landed on Kumi's cheek, her fate was sealed and she drifted off into enchanting dreams. In her dream world, the red moon was as mesmerising to her as it had been to Layla. She murmured softly in her sleep as the dream played over and over in a loop, beginning anew each time she and the Lamia reached the hut and left Kumi with her instructions and put her to sleep. Each time the dream repeated itself, it became more abstract and detached from reality, each time Kumi became more obedient and eager for the hypnosis, until she regularly asked Layla to hypnotise her before Layla had even transformed. As the alarm clock rang, Kumi was coming to the end of another dream loop, just as the Lamia had instructed her, muttering 'sleepy little Kumi understands' as the alarm clock woke her, just as the Lamia had ordered.
Stretching and yawning, Kumi turned to sit on the edge of her hammock. "Ahhh - I had the most beautiful dream." She sighed happily and looked over at Layla. "That naga... Uh, well, I guess a Lamia for you, she was very pretty and wrapped herself around me and made me feel good." Kumi said, almost to herself. She'd forgotten that the Lamia was Layla - after all, in her mind, her mistress was trying to protect her from Layla's hypnosis. Still, saying 'feel nice' was a necessity for Kumi, for despite everything she'd been through, she didn't really understand what hypnosis was, nor was she particularly familiar with the word, unlike Layla, who was more familiar with the modern urban world of therapy and stage magicians.

The familiar sound of Kumi's peculiar morning routine made Layla's eyes move towards her cousin. She hid a chuckle behind her hand while observing the stretches and yawns and if not for the strange question she would have chuckled for another couple of minutes. She raised an eyebrow at the strange comment.
"Naga? Lamia?... I have heard those before. Does she mean those snake like creatures?..." "Cluelesss?~"
The puzzled expression that had already taken over Layla's face changed suddenly as if a thought of hers just had startled and snapped her out of the brief contemplation. The strange hissing in her head reminded her of the snake... Instinctively, her left hand reached to the bandage as memories of the snake's coils flooded her mind. How could Kumi speak of the experience as something enjoyable.
"Could it be that Kumi?..." Her eyes moved to inspect Kumi's body closely, trying to spot any injury. She sighed deeply after failing to notice any. "No no... That couldn't be"
Trying to leave the matter behind, Layla wouldn't comment much on Kumi's dreams, instead, she would hop off the hammock and let her mind wander to the idea of having breakfast with her family. Once her both feet touched the floor, Layla stretched again. Lazily, she headed towards the spot where her luggage rested. The lack of furniture in her relative's hut meant she usually kept her stuff in the luggage, including her glasses. Upon reaching the colourful luggage, she began to browse through the neatly folded clothes, searching for her glasses. She glanced back over her shoulder before casually asking.
"Kumi... Did you see my glasses? I can't find them. I'm sure I put them somewhere in my luggage but..."

Kumi hummed softly to herself as she changed out of yesterday's clothes and into fresh ones. Strange that I didn't change into nightwear last night, Kumi thought. But then again, she couldn't remember last night fully - just the festival, then the dream. Still, Kumi wracked her brain - she usually had a pretty good memory, so it bothered her that she couldn't remember something. She was about to ask Layla about it, to see if she remembered what happened last night...
But as those words of Layla's floated in the air and into Kumi's ears, the poor girl would soon be deprived of her own will yet again, after barely a few minutes of freedom. For a very brief flash, Kumi was still in control of herself yet could feel the trigger take effect - for that briefest of moments, Kumi remembered everything, knew what had been done to her, and dreaded what was coming next... Then she was snuffed out again, memories gone from normal, everyday Kumi. Kumi the ordinary village girl went to sleep, and with a soft smile and closed eyes, 'sleepy little Kumi', devoted slave of the Lamia, was back. Of course they were one and the same, but since the memories were separate, this was more or less how Kumi saw it, at least in that brief second of awareness. "Your... Glassssssesssss?" Kumi hissed, speaking now in a very odd, lilted tone. It sounded as if she was talking in her sleep. Turning around on the spot slowly, eyes remaining closed, she faced Layla. "We musssst find them, to protect from the eyessss..." She whispered, opening her eyes and gazing for a moment into Layla's eyes as if caught by them, before tearing her eyes away. "I know where we can find them... Follow." She droned, taking slow, deliberate steps out of the room without waiting to see if Layla was following her.

Not many things were going on in Layla's head besides finding her glasses. Not even the question that she seemed to have asked absentmindedly... The small instinctive reaction of asking when you can't find something. She was unaware of the power behind the words she spoke. She scratched on her neck as if trying to recall herself where did she put her glasses last night. Oddly enough, those memories weren't there. All she could remember was walking back to the hut with Kumi, stopping briefly to glance at the moon... she even remembered adjusting her glasses as she stared. The memory caused a shiver to run down her spine, it made her lose focus on her thoughts for a second before she could resume the movie playing in her mind. After having stared into the moon for a few seconds she remembered she and Kumi walked back to the hut, neither of them saying much, not even after they got into the hammocks. She wasn't wearing glasses when that happened but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't recall her taking them off.
Her contemplation was cut short as the voice of a stranger made her startle and snap out of it, briefly, the memory of a certain snake would come back to her mind after hearing the hissing. Layla's eyes darted to the source of the voice only to find it was Kumi, she bowed just a bit, seeking Kumi's eyes as a puzzled expression grew on her face "Y-You know where they are?..." Her eyes followed Kumi as she walked towards the door. "Aren't they in the room?..." She didn't know how to react or feel about the sudden change in Kumi's demeanour. Still trying to process it she began to walk behind her cousin, it was true that Kumi was the closest person to her in that village but... Perhaps it was just a side of hers that Layla hadn't seen. Maybe that was what happened after villagers spent the night 'partying' "That was a uhm nice festival eh?..." She forced a small laugh "Are you feeling uhm okay this morning? Are you tired perhaps? Still sleepy?"

Kumi didn't respond to Layla's question about the glasses not being in the room, just kept walking slowly, deliberately, robotically. At least, until Layla said 'sleepy', which made Kumi tremble as she felt intense tingling along her spine and butterflies in her stomach in response, like her insides were being tickled softly but mercilessly. With a soft under-her-breath moan, Kumi turned around to face Layla as though being pulled against her will, and stared right into Layla's eyes with a disturbing intensity. "No... Misssstresss, I mussssn't fail you..." She murmured, and with what looked like a great effort, she closed her eyes and turned away again, continuing to lead Layla on to where the glasses had fallen.
Just a few minutes later, they had reached the bush where just the night before, the Lamia had emerged out of Layla and hypnotized Kumi. Kumi pointed to the bush to show where the glasses had fallen, then stepped gingerly into a particular spot and took a particular pose. She was standing herself right where she'd been first hypnotized, to try and remember more of it to feed her spiral-addicted mind.

If the strange behaviour her cousin bore wasn't enough to made Layla freak out, what happened after she spoke made a cold shiver run down her spine. The hissing was there again... It only caused more memories of the creepy snake she met fill her mind. Kumi's intense gaze made her freeze in place. Unsure of what to do or how to react, all that Layla could do was stare back and force a smile. "You're not uhm failing me... It's okay, Kumi... that's enough!..."
Noticeably more worried, Layla's voice was tinged with panic. After Kumi closed her eyes she sighed, relieved to know those eyes weren't on her anymore. Her eyes would inspect Kumi, looking for any sign of fangs or wounds on her skin, it was futile... Having no other choice but follow Kumi, Layla left the hut still in her pjs, wearing sandals and a rather messy hairstyle. She looked around, wary of any movement in the nearby bushes as she was guided deeper into path back to the 'plaza'. Even though she could recall the path, she couldn't find any connexon between it and her glasses, strangely enough, walking it again elicited memories of the reddish glow of the moon...
Distracted by her own thoughts, Layla snapped out of it only after Kumi stopped to point at a nearby bush. She was scared, asking her cousin wasn't an option after what happened but... the sight of the bush made her fear something might have been lurking. Hesitantly, she removed her left sandal before tossing it at the bush. She approached shyly, until a gleam of sorts caught her attention. She bowed and barely a few inches away from the bush's roots she found her glasses, stained by the morning dew but in perfect condition, fortunately for her. She wiped them with the fabric of her T-shirt and once they were back on her face she approached Kumi.
Layla rested her hand on Kumi's shoulder, her expression seemed blissful in a way that gave Layla creeps. "Kumi... it's okay... I found my glasses. Uhm thanks for guiding me here. Are you okay? Did you lose something too?" She waved her hand before Kumi's eyes, hoping for a reaction to reassure her. "We should head back to the hut... Aren't you hungry? I mean, I'm sure there are still some leftovers from the festival... If you don't hurry up and go back to the hut I'll eat them all..."

Kumi smiled as she saw Layla had her glasses on. "Misssstresss, I sssucceeded... Layla'sss eyesss can't affect me anymore..." She whispered - then, having completed her task, sleepy little Kumi closed her eyes, and went to sleep. Just a second later, normal Kumi opened her eyes, stood entranced for a moment, then blinked, gasped, and yelped. "Where am I?" She asked, worriedly. "I was JUST putting on my shirt in our room - then I blinked, and... We're here?" Kumi was pondering anxiously to herself. She clearly saw Layla wearing her glasses, but didn't react at all - as Kumi had never even learned that the glasses were missing.

Filled with concern, Layla thought of shaking her cousin for a moment as the hissing gave her more creeps. Layla's eyes sought Kumi's, fearing that after closing them her cousin would drift deeper into whatever that strange state of mind was, her grip on her cousin's shoulders tightened as she gathered the strength to shake Kumi...
"KUMI! ! !..."
The sight of Kumi's eyes made Layla bring her close into a rather tight hug, her left hand stroking her cousin's nape as she spoke with a still concerned tone
"I thought the creepy snake might had gotten you... I'm glad to see you're safe and sound..."
After a few seconds, she reached Kumi's hand, pulling gently.
"Let's go back home... You mom might be waiting for us so we all can have breakfast"
And just like that, without explaining much, Layla began to drag her cousin with her back to the hut silently. Even though there was a lot to talk about, she was still trying to make sense of what had happened. A deep sigh left her, hoping that breakfast would help both of them to find the words for when the moment of talking about that came.

"The creepy snake? What creepy snake?" Kumi asked, confused. Layla's concern was infectious, and Kumi regarded Layla suspiciously with furrowed brows. "Please just tell me what happened... How did we get out here?" She begged as she followed Layla back to the hut, but Layla didn't seem keen to talk, so Kumi left it at that, hoping that she was simply waiting before explaining. The events - or lack thereof, that she could recall - of the morning had disturbed her, and so once they got inside and found leftovers on the table placed there by Layla's aunt (who was displeased that the two had dashed off into the village so early in the morning, and so hadn't wanted to wait on them before having her own breakfast), Kumi didn't have much of an appetite. She merely nibbled at the corners of her food.

Similarly to Kumi, Layla barely ate that morning. While still lost in thoughtfulness, she would fidget the spoon between her left hand fingers while resting her cheek on her right palm. Occasionally, her eyes would move to glance at Kumi, many times it seemed like she was about to speak but she always ended up falling back to contemplate things. The chirp of a bird flying pass near the window made Layla snap out of it, her eyes moved to the window and then as if that was the small push she needed, she finally spoke again.
"So... how do you feel?... Aren't you tired because of that happened tomorrow?"
*Slowly, Layla's eyes moved back to meet Kumi's. Even though she did her best to sound the closest to normal, her eyes revealed the concern hiding in her mind. Once more, she scanned Kumi, looking for any sign of an attack but it was futile. Layla sighed, entertaining the idea of telling Kumi about the snake she met before... how to tell her without sounding like crazy herself.
"You... didn't leave the hut last night did you? You didn't run into any kind of uhm snake?..."
