This is something I've had in my head to make a thread about. These are a few songs that I have come across that hypnosis or seem to hint at hypnosis in them. The first of these are kinda folk-ish with fantasy/mythology elements to them.
1. Darkness by Blackmore's Night. A young maiden feels herself being drawn to the forest by an unseen supernatural force.
2. Coldrake by Heather Alexander. A song based on a book by fantasy author Mercedes Lackey, a troubled young mage happens upon a farm under attack by an ice dragon possessing a mesmerizing gaze.
3. I still Remember You by Blackmore's night. The singer describes her long missing lover. I, at least, can envision it as someone who had escaped a naga or a hypnotic snake, but still remembers bits and pieces of being under the spell.
4. Hushabye Mountain, covered by Eleanor Tomlinson. I shared this on a thread for motherly Kaa songs a few weeks ago. Maybe it's just the way the song is arranged here, it feels like it could be a hypnotic melody sung by some kind of hypnotic predator, like a lamia, snake, or even a siren.
These are all the ones I can think of at the moment. I might add some later. What do y'all think of these songs? If y'all can think of some, feel free to add some of your own.

"I Still Remember" sounds almost like a snake-charming tune.

"American Woman" by The Guess Who has a line, "Colored lights can hypnotize", but it's more analogy/metaphor. It was written during the Vietnam War, after all

I just remembered one;
"Biggie, Biggie, Biggie, can't you see? Sometimes your words just hypnotize me"

Jungle Book came out in 1967. American Woman was released in 1970.

I still stand by the "psychedelic inspiration" theory.

There are a couple of songs by a single artist that strike me as Kaa-like. Both are from a female jazz singer who goes by the name of Stacey Kent. I actually rather enjoy listening to her music. ^^ Anyway...
The two songs listed below are called Close your eyes, and Dreamsville. Close your eyes strikes me as a type of induction song while Dreamsville sounds like more of a lullaby to someone who is actually in a trance. I've known of these songs for a really long time, so they are nothing new to me. But, you guys might enjoy them. They aren't designed to be Kaa-like songs, but certainly have a hypnotic sort of tune to them in my opinion. You can be the judge for yourself. ^^;

For the Metalheads on this site. Somehow, I doubt anyone could sleep through this.

Well, that song is lyrically about hypnosis. But if you want something less heavy and abrasive but hypnotic, then try listening to Stoner Rock bands from the 90’s like Kyuss. Their genre is a unique blend of the trippy elements of psychedelic and the back-to-basic traits of doom metal. Think of it as the Jimi Hendrix Experience meets Black Sabbath.

I'm surprised this song never occurred to anyone!

Any Tool fans around here? They had put some out very hypnotic stuff like “Reflection.” The Indian inspired drumming, the constant drone, the distantly haunting vocals, and the philosophical lyrics makes this song so listenable that you could play it endlessly on loop. If rock and metal were ever needed for another adaptation of the Jungle Book, then Tool would be the band that fits the bill.

It was written during the Vietnam War, after all Funny, didn't Disney's The Jungle Book come out around the same time? I always thought Kaa's hypnosis was inspired by psychedelic drugs. The first Disney adaptation of JB was actually very 60’s, since it came out in 67 when the Hippie sub-culture exploded with psychedelic art and music back then, and it was very common to be an Indophile too. Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Cream, Deep Purple, The Doors, and the 13th Floor Elevators made their debut on that year. Some played live at the original Woodstock a couple of years later (Yes, it actually happened thrice). They even wanted the Beatles to voice the vultures for the movie, but unfortunately never happened. Can you picture how huge it would be for both Walt and the band?

Here's one I almost forgot about. I like the sci-fi atmosphere of it. It seems like its a hypnotist telling their true intentions or something like that.
