The sun was high in the sky and blazing down on the jungle. It's rays gave off a heat most denizens of the tropical island were used to. Luckily, thanks to the lush vegetation and thick leaves, there were plenty of shady areas to rest beneath the canopy and escape the humidity. That and also the few watering holes and lagoons around the very green environment but one creature had a different approach to the heat.
Zee the 40 foot long anaconda was curled up high in the trees, his thick and scaly body coiled around the tree branches to ensure he didn't fall. Zee was a shy and timid snake, one who kept to himself and usually didn't meddle with the lives of others. But while the anaconda was secluded and wasn't one to approach you and start a conversation , he was rather curious about the resident jungle gals and dudes.
The other denizens of the island, besides the animals, were the humans who resided in the village nearby and sometimes traveled deep into the jungle. And whenever one dweller entered his territory, Zee would ponder speaking up and getting to know them. However, the one time the anaconda did gain the confidence to speak with a young jungle boy, his curiosity had gotten the better of him which led to an awkward and uncomfortable end. And on this hot and beautiful day all Zee wanted to do was apologize and prove to his could-be-man cub friend that he was trustworthy, kind, and caring. Little did the serpent know was that his second chance to prove himself was walking towards him as he sighed with guilt and sadness.

A stream gently trickled past the young Jungle Dude. Eating a fruit, the Jungle Dude watched it like he would be watching people pass by if he was still in his native Winnipeg, but Kainak of Pomaika'i didn't dwell on the past. In fact, he was taking in the endless present of life in the island's jungles, which was a lot better than how things had gone prior. A gentle breeze blew, which felt fantastic on his mostly-bare skin, and he closed his eyes to savor the moment. Moments like this were not rare; surrounded on all sides by one of the last virgin jungles on earth, he could hear the birds chirping and smell the mixture of trees and other flowering plants. He chuckled, while chewing the fruit. That old hag Hana might've gotten him kicked out of the Teo village, but in a way, he should thank her. He felt like he truly belonged here.
Kainak was a lean 18-year-old man, built like a gymnast, swimmer and runner. He swung among the trees, on the branches and vines. He swam in the rivers, chasing fish. And he ran through the jungle, chasing enemies and food. Or just for fun. His skin was slightly tanned, not just from the sun, but also from miniscule Cree ancestery. His hair was shoulder-length and well-groomed. Unlike some jungle people, he had the good grace to bathe once in a while. He carried a leimano, a club rimmed with shark teeth, the most common weapon on the still as-of-yet "undiscovered" island, the culture of which was Polynesian. In fact, it was still a tribal society, like the uncontacted regions in Brazil, and the bushmen of Africa.
As he watched the stream run past, he picked up a sound with his sharpened hearing. Looking to his right, he stood up, clad in his Tarzan loincloth and looked for whatever had made that noise.

Zee was unaware that very near his tree Kainak was enjoying the peaceful sounds and sights the jungle had to offer. The handsome jungle boy had met the overly eager serpent just a week prior, but their encounter had ended in a strained goodbye. As Zee lay coiled in his tree and pondered on how he could fix the first impression he made, his long and thick body shifted in the canopy, causing a few mangoes and coconuts to fall down to the ground.
“Oops. I hope no one was hurt. Now how can I get that man cub back to my tree...” Zee sighed, resting his head on his tail like he was thinking. The anaconda had no idea the loincloth clad stud was walking right towards him and his waiting coils.

Kainak strode towards the coconuts and mangoes and examined them. How did they get there? He looked up at the tree canopy, running a hand through his hair. Nothing caught his eyes, except the glimpses of blue poking through the foliage. He scrunched his nose and sat down at the foot of a tree to gather his thoughts before moving on.

The anaconda was about to get settled once again, maybe take a nap, when he heard a noise. Some foot steps and a bit of murmuring caught Zee's attention making him peep down below to the jungle floor. His eyes suddenly lit up with joy as the serpent was met with a sight of long, wavy hair, a loincloth, and tanned muscles and bare skin. It was Kainak! "I can finally make amends. But will he accept my apology...I suppose there's only one way to find out" Zee said.
His chubby tail slowly slipped down the side of the tree trunk, growing nearer and nearer to the jungle dude. Finally, it wrapped under Kainak's thighs and around his waist, lifting the man cub up into the air and into the canopy.

He didn't notice the tail descending towards him until he felt something curling around his midsection. It was a snake's tail, and he wondered how a snake could be intelligent enough to do such a thing, when he remembered the island's hypno-pythons. Another memory came to mind, that of an encounter with a hypnotic snake that didn't go well. His whole body clenched as he grabbed the snake's tail as it lifted him into the tree.

Zee clenched his teeth as his tail nearly reached the canopy, holding the handsome prize in its grasp. The anaconda knew he shouldn’t be nervous and if he explained himself, then all would be well right? Surely the jungle boy would see reason and want to be the serpents friend...right?
Finally, the jungle dude was brought face to face with Zee. The shy snake smiled and blushed as he eyed the handsome man cub, from his shoulder length hair to his cut and lean loincloth clad body. Zee heard all around the jungle what a courageous and heroic stud Kainak was, and very much wanted to be his friend.
“Kainak! So nice to see you again! It was nice of you to drop by” Zee giggled, trying to give off his most friendly grin and peaceful greeting. The coil around his thighs and waist gave a gentle to squeeze to reassure the jungle dude he was in no danger.

Kainak fell backwards, but Zee's grip on him stopped him from completely falling. "GAGH!" he shouted. "I know you! ... I think!"

“Yessss man cub” Zee giggled, before clearing his throat and trying to regain himself. The anaconda didn’t want to come off too strong and scare the jungle boy away to early. Before they even had a chance to reconcile.
“Oh careful there” the snake held Kainak tightly in a coil seat, steadying the stud when he leaned back too far. But the coils around Kainaks lean thighs and cut waist were not squeezing too hard or uncomfortable, but rather gentle and nurturing. Kainak was being held suspended in the air, with his bare feet dangling a few inches above the branch so he was in no danger of falling.
“My name is Zee. We met a few moons back (meaning weeks) and I’m afraid I came off a bit too...forcefully. But I was hoping to use this opportunity to reintroduce myself and get to know you better. In the hopes of...being friends” the anaconda said softly, blushing and showing his shy and timid side. He was nervous of Kainaks reaction and hoped the jungle dude wanted to stay.

“Zee?” Kai tried to remember that name. Let’s see, there was Kaa, Dante, Oua… no Zee yet, but the name rang a bell. The problem with meeting more than one touchy-grabby hypno-snake was that a lot of them just felt the same, especially in terms of personality. This one appeared different. Kainak could tell he was nervous and trying to hide it.
“Dude, are you okay?” he asked.

“Truthfully? I am a bit nervous. I don’t want to seem to forward but...I’d like to get to know you better. And apologize for our previous encounter” Zee confessed, recalling the last time the pair snake. But if the jungle dude didn’t remember it maybe it was the anaconda making it a bigger deal than it really was.
“Do you not remember me?” Zee asked as he gently lowered Kainak onto the branch so both his feet were on the rough bark. The timid snake didn’t want to get to touchy too fast.

"I've met a few talking snakes," Kainak answered. "Some bad, some good, some neutral. You'll need to be more specific."

"Oh..." Zee replied, a little upset. The anaconda had hoped that he had made a bigger impression on the jungle dude, but maybe this was a good thing! If their previous encounter was a blur to Kainak, maybe Zee would get that do-over he wanted!
"Let me look at you. If you don't mind of course" Zee giggled as he slithered his large head closer to the loincloth clad stud. While the anaconda was usually shy and timid, he was growing excited once again to reintroduce himself and potentially make a new friend. Zee began to circle Kainak and eye his lean and muscular body, not in a creepy way but one of awe and admiration. Clearly this man cub was skilled and fit to live in the jungle.

"Oh, no you don't!" Kainak replied, probably not to Zee's surprise, pushing against the snake's head. "Man, I know how this works! Oua and Dante do this to me a lot!"

Zee was gently shoved aside, Zee wide eyed and confused. Oua and Dante? The anaconda of heard of such names but never really interacted with the other serpents of the jungle. Had they also tried to befriend the jungle dude?
“You don’t want me to look at you?” Zee asked, a little sad by Kainaks rude remake. “Then...you look at me” the anaconda giggled and smiled, using his tail to wrap around the studs head an turn it gently to Kainak was looking straight into Zees big, yellow eyes.
