We have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! We're going to be hosting our first every KainaCon!!!!!!
But Mini, what's that? Well, dear member, I'm glad you asked! KainaCon is going to be a virtual Community Day for everyone to hang out, chat, get to know each other, and talk about topics that are of interest to many of us. That's right, KainaCon will feature lots of different activities in the form of panels! This is a chance for you all to shine, as we're opening up panel submissions to everyone who is a member of Kainakaa, both he Discord and the Forums. The bulk of the Community Day activities will be happening on our Discord Group. (Why? It's just so much easier and faster to do things in real time on Discord) If you are currently not a member, now is a wonderful time to join. discord.gg/2Xc5VW )
Panels will be 30 or 60 minutes in length. Content MUST be pg-13. Depending on the panelist, they may be 100% text based or they may also have some audio/visual aspects to them. Nobody will be forced to do or participate in anything they may not feel comfortable participating in (i.e. if a panelist is hosting a panel where they will be talking via voice chat, you do not have to turn on your audio in order to participate and the panelist cannot force you to do so either. Similarly, if you are interested in hosting a panel, you do not have to use any audio or screen-sharing options if you do not want to).
What kind of content can a panel include? That's the great thing - they can be about whatever you want! We're a nerdy bunch, so as long as the panel content makes sense to be discussed within the walls of our humble little slice of internet, feel free to submit your idea. (Example: While I love and am super passionate about professional football, I understand that not everybody here feels the same way, so a panel about how amazing the Pittsburgh Steelers are might not be the best idea of content to submit. However, many of us are anime fans, so a panel highlighting Oldies But Goodies series would be a better idea of content to submit) Please note that ALL applications will be reviewed by the moderators.
We are not 100% settled on a date yet but Saturday, October 3rd is our tentative date at this moment in time.
If you're interested in submitting a panel, please use the link below to fill out the application. Panel submissions will run through Sunday, September 20th.

We hope you all are just excited for this Community Day as we are. Here's hoping that many of you will participate, submit panels, and help make this the first of many successful KainaCon Community Days! And as always, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or any of the other mods with any questions you may have.
