And further to it, this Bee was not alone for she also had protection. One was a creature born with the tail of a giant snake instead of legs and gifted with the power of hypnosis and the other was a human who was skilled in the ways of combat. Together they guard the hive from anyone who wished to harm their queen or the hive itself but they allow in those who are worthy.

Jesse was in his study, flipping through books about magic and medicine. The surgeon was skilled in his work, but eventually harsh reality caught up to all physicians in the form of a patient they couldn't heal. In this case, it just so happened to be his best friend, Alice. She was coming down with a terrible case of necroneurosis, and every doctor she'd seen had given up on her. But not him. The time was approaching 2 in the morning when he found it: a legend about miraculous honey that was said to be able to heal anything.

A being that stands like a human stood in her room. In her hand was a silver goblet with fresh berry juice. She looked out the window in her throne room. Overlooking her land. It was flourished and the plan will soon be ready to put in motion. A plan she had been born to do. A normal honey bee buzzes into the room. Pollena holds out a finger for the insect to land on. It chirped little buzzes while flapping it's wings. "Ah that is good," she said, well understanding the bee's language while speaking perfect English herself. "They have returned as well?" The bee flies off her finger as she walks over to her throne that looked like a giant pond lily opening up. She has a seat before speaking in a clear voice. "Let them in." The doors to the throne room open and standing in place were Pollena's trusted subordinates.

Kalia and Anika stood in the room and when they saw the Queen, they bowed.
"Greetings, your highness," The two said together.
"No one has approached the hive all day but were keeping an eye out," Anika reported.
"Yepp, it's all good." Kalia continued. "We wanted to let you know before our dinner break."
A while later the two walked in the garden, the lamia doing most of the talking but soon noticed how quiet Anika was. "You know, you always look cuter when you smile," Kalia hinted.
"I thought I was," Anika said.
"Kinda looks like you're bored," Kalia said, then she smiled, slithered closer to the human's face and activated her hypnosis. "I know how to make you smile,"
Anika saw the spirals and covered her eyes before they changed. "No," she said sternly. "I told you a hundred times; not while we're on duty,"
Kalia stopped her hypnosis and giggled. "Duty,"
The girl's lips quivered before shaking it off. "C'mon Kali, we need to get back to our station,"
"Alrighty then," the lamia said following Anika back to the gate.

The next day, Jesse jolted awake as the plane had a rough landing. He stretched the 10-hour flight stiffness out of his muscles and went on his way. Outside the airport, he met with a guide who claimed to know the jungle well. Kenneth, he called himself. The Amazon was huge, and even though Jesse had read about the crushing heat and humidity, the intensity of it still caught him by surprise. Trekking through the dense undergrowth, he just hoped some tarantula wouldn't drop onto him or anything. The whole situation was dreadful. If there was anything less than Alice's life at stake, he wouldn't have come at all.
But it was, and so he found himself here, cutting through overhanging branches and chasing a legendary honey he could only hope was real.

Pollena was at her dinning room for lunch alongside her two guards that were outside her bee colleen: Kalia and Anika. For being in her guard the rewards were great. In exchange for aiding her in protecting her land and helping the plan, they are free to the spoils her bees create. The abundant food they have. They even have their own rooms in the castle. "Kalia, Anika," she says getting their attention. "The nursing combs are nearly ready for our new bees to arrive. Furthermore, the hive is nearly done with our supply. If I am right about this, we will be ready to execute the plan within two days. We are almost there where we can finally revive this dying world. I am grateful for your work in our plan. I will need to ask you to continue and be on guard while we get the final steps, and of course your part when we move out."

Kalia had no problem accepting the generous rewards for her job as a guardian of the hive. The lamia ate what she pleased (not too much that she'd lose her figure) and lounged in her room when she wasn't working. Meanwhile, Anika was grateful too but she was a little more serious than the lamia. When she wasn't working or spending with Pollena or Kalia like this, you might find her training or reading in her room. Most days though, Anika and Kalia would hang in either one's room and enjoy each other's company.
At lunch, Anika and Kalia sat beside their queen and listened to her news.
"You can count on us, your highness," Kalia said eagerly with a salute.
"Yes, we will not let you down," Anika said.
The next day, Anika stood to watch at the first gate, her spear tight in her grip as she scanned the road that leads to the hive.

Jesse noticed Kenneth was acting rather dodgy, and it only worsened the closer they got to their destination. He kept checking over his shoulder as if he were paranoid, and he muttered things to himself quietly. Jesse resolved to hire a different guide next time. Eventually Kenneth stopped. "The hive's about 20 paces over yonder, but I'm not getting that close." Jesse frowned. "They're BEES. You weren't scared of that jaguar earlier! What, are you allergic?" Being a surgeon, Jesse came prepared with all of the tools they might need-repellant(and lots of it), antivenins, epinephrine,-
"They're not normal bees," Kenneth said gravely, "there are... Monsters in there." Jesse rolled his eyes. "Everything's bigger in this jungle, ok? I saw that earlier. Those tarantulas were huge, and you didn't worry about those! Now, come on, I didn't pay you to just stand there!" But the man didn't budge. "Real monsters, Doctor, like cryptids. I told you I'm not getting anywhere near there."
Jesse folded his arms. "If you won't man up, then at least stay here so you can show me the way back out of this jungle when I'm finished." So saying, Jesse continued along the path. He applied extra repellent, just in case, and as an extra precaution he wore a suit made of a tougher material that couldn't be stung through by most regular sized bees.
He saw a clearing in the distance. What if the honey wasn't real? What if he'd come all this way for nothing? Nervously he straightened his tie, regretting wearing this hot outfit in the heat and humidity of the jungle. The legend was real, he assured himself. It had to be. He took a few more steps and reached the clearing, surprised at what he saw.

Meanwhile, not aware an intruder was one her doorway, Poleana was busy at work. All bees in a hive have a job and work, a queen too has those. Even further by the fact she was beyond any bee. She had most of the appearance of a human. She had the body of one with flawless skin kissed by the sun. Long amber hair that was styaled half up and the other half down in a braid. A decorative pin shaped like a flower held her hair in place. Her eyes were Brunnera blue and her lips were the shade of a pink rose. What showed she wasn't human were the transparent wings on her back with black veins, just like a bee. She wore a white sun dress that reached her knees, decorated with colorful flowers around the waist like a belt. Alone she stops at a well hidden chamber where she in fact stored the very honey people have tried to steal. The one that could cure the sick. This honey is made only by her hands. Nobody else in all the world had the ability. "Won't be much longer."

The home of Queen Pollena was well hidden so humans would not notice the massive hive and the only first hint of its existence was a stone gate that was currently guarded by the human guard Anika. The girl was 18 years of age. She had a tan and though she had a few battle scars, her face was without flaw and she was fit. She had long black hair that ran down her back, deep brown eyes, and full heart lips. She wears a tight blue top, an orange jacket, a red bandana around her neck, dark brown pants that showed her curves and black combat boots. She marches across the gate, keeping an eye out for any sign of movement.

At first he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the gate. What was something like that doing all the way out in the Amazon? Still, this was where the guide said the honey was. As he drew closer, he saw someone guarding it. Of course-if the honey was real, it would make sense that some corporation would hoard it; no doubt to turn a future profit. This was both discouraging, but also encouraging as to the legitimacy of the legend.
He walked out of the bushes and into the clearing, approaching the guard carefully. "Excuse me, is there any way you could open that gate?" He asked. "I need some of the honey for a friend of mine. If it's money you want, I can pay any price." It was always money with humans anyway, he thought. At least as a surgeon, he never exactly had to live frugally.
However, there was something about the way that she looked at him that he found... Off. His right hand hovered above his pocket, where there was a weapon if he needed it. Was he really desperate enough to fight someone over a myth? An image of Alice's frail body made it's way into his mind.
Yes, he was desperate enough to do anything.

When she saw the man, Anika pointed her spear at him, a warning to back off. Hering him talk about a payment for access to the honey made Anika roll her brown eyes. Living in the hive with the queen and Kalia, the girl didn't need much money.
"I'm not interested in your money, nor will I open this gate for you," Anika spoke sternly. "This is your only warning, turn around and walk away or else,"

He pulled a smooth metal cylinder out of his pocket, then pressed a button, activating the retractable blade of a scythe. Even though he wanted to settle things civilly, he knew he needed to be prepared to fight. He dozed her up. Those muscles weren't those of an amateur, that was for sure. The way she balanced the spear perfectly and seemingly without effort demonstrated her mastery of the weapon. Indeed she was formidable, but he had a few tricks up his sleeve as well.
"Look, I'm not here for a conquest or anything of the sort. I just need some of that honey for a friend of mine. She'll die if I do nothing. So please open that gate, and we can avoid any rash conflicts."
His grip tightened on his scythe. This was the part where she accepted-which even he had to admit, was highly unlikely-or where she attacked, and he had to be prepared to retaliate.

Unaware of the commotion just outside the gates of her own domain, Pollena was still within the one chamber only she had permission to enter. Where she stashed the special honey. Close by were some clay jars that were about two feet tall. They too were a part of her plan she was working to. All the preparations were almost complete. Just another day or so and they will move out. "Soon the world will be the way it was meant to be. Alive and beautiful."
