[The gaze of the leader of the Swords of Justice scowled at the sight it was met with, annoyed that something else had distracted it. The small flame only created suspicion, prompting Cobalion to simply shift its hind leg and press it down onto it in attempt to extinguish it. Cobalion wasn’t going to take any chances, especially with how it’s comrade was already transfixed on a flame. Its eyes shifted back to the rock and fighting type, it’s neck leaning to stare upon the legend’s complexion. The face it was met with was no longer one of confusion, but of wonder and relaxation.]
“Terrakion, Look away from that flame.”
[Cobalion’s words fell upon deaf ears as the Cavern Pokémon remained enthralled by the flame. It put more and more of its trust in it with each passing second, adoring the sensations it was feeling from staring deep into it. Terrakion began to even smile, contrasting anything it had felt prior to finding this wonderful, little fire that felt so right to look at.]
[The scowl upon the face of the Iron Will Pokémon grew after its comrade ignored it. Now it knew something was definitely wrong. Only one thing could explain it; that flame. It’s eyes shifted to the brown flame, the steel and fighting type legend beginning to move towards it.]

“Can I depend on you to keep deepening your trust and loyalty, even when the flame goes out?” a telepathic voice sounded in Terrakion’s mind, a gentle and soothing whisper; somehow, it could tell that this was the flame finally reaching out. This was Terrakion’s chance — The Sword trusted the flame implicitly, that was without question, but now it could finally show the flame that it could trust the Sword. It was depending on the Legendary.
Mew started to worry, though it was confident that the loyal, trusting Terrakion would comply. The flame required far more concentration than simple telepathy, and it knew that it would have to be extinguished in order to start dealing with Cobalion. Meanwhile, the leader would be able to start approaching the flame unopposed, though it seemed harmless and insignificant.

[The words that echoed within Terrakion’s almost-blank mind prompted its lips to rise, creating a larger smile in the knowledge that it now had a task in which it required to complete. It’s mind replied through its own telepathy, unintentionally reaching the nearby steel and fighting type legendary.]
“Yes.”
[That single word caused Cobalion’s head to turn back towards its comrade in confusion to its compliance now as opposed to before, halting its advance and granting a few seconds more of vision to the flame for the rock and fighting type. Unfortunately it found itself to be mistaken, as the bulkier legend didn’t move its eyes away. The leader turned back to the flame after a few moments, now determined to do something about it and free its comrade.]

With Terrakion’s compliance, the earthy flame began to flicker, as if dying out. Smaller and smaller it shrunk... before suddenly springing back, twice as big and twice as beautiful. Now reborn, gone was the earthy ruggedness, replaced by a shining, resolute silver. All of this happened before Cobalion’s eyes...
“Thank you. Focus only on my voice and speak only to me. You have been captured by my flame. You are trusting and loyal, and you will obey my every command,” the voice softly commanded Terrakion, the Legendary now graced with its soothing words rather than the flame.

[As the flame shrunk, the complexion of the noble leader shifted to mild confusion. It’s mind briefly debated what could be causing it to disappear, being interrupted only once it sprung back before it. Cobalion kept backwards from the flame. The leader of the Swords of Justice was always quite afraid of fire, especially when it was of magical properties. This flame clearly was magical, fitting its greatest weakness. Not only was it weak to fire by type, but it also possessed low special defence. Any good magical fire type attack would always devastate it. A bead of sweat dropped down the side of the leader’s head as it regained its balance, feeling oppressed by the flame as opposed to comforted. It’s eyes kept on the fire, although failing to begin the process of submitting just yet.]
[Terrakion’s gaze shifted off into the forest in a blank manner after its flame disappeared, leaving it only with the soothing voice that worked the rest of its mind into total submission. While the commands it received would have normally sparked resistance, it was too far gone for that to occur. The words sunk into its mind, imbedding themselves in its head, the legend relaxing onto the ground and enjoying the voice.]

Fortunately for Cobalion, this fire didn’t seem dangerous at all. In fact, it was almost more Steel than Fire-Type with its wispy, silver glow. He had stopped approaching, and now that he had done so, he would likely notice that the heat of the flame never seemed to rise to the point of discomfort, no matter how close he came... Just soothing, comforting warmth. It even shrunk in size, so as not to appear imposing, yet remained just as pretty.
“Tell me your name, and address me as your master as you reply. After all, we can’t let that growing loyalty go to waste,” the pleasant voice commanded him... and oh, did it feel nice. Just being commanded would feel euphoric.

[The Cavern Pokémon couldn’t help but feel a short rush of bliss from listening to that voice telling it what to do. That feeling drove it to obey and reply without hesitation, not thinking of any repercussions of its actions whatsoever.]
“My name is Terrakion, master.”
”Master?!”
[Unfortunately, it seemed none of the four Swords of Justice possessed quite the same control over their own telepathy as some other legends. They weren’t exactly psychic types either, which probably didn’t help that they were also rather vulnerable to that type. As such, the words of the rock and fighting type reached its leader, prompting shock from the Iron Will Pokémon. Cobalion’s attention immediately turned away from the flame and to its comrade, breaking any sense of comfort it had brought. The way Terrakion looked so blissful, the flames being coloured in such ways, the warmth the flame gave off, it all made sense now. The expression of the steel and fighting type contorted with rage as it whipped its head around, glaring into the surrounding area in attempt to scan for the culprit of this rather foul hypnotic attempt.]
“Who is behind this?! Show yourself!”

This time, Mew was ready for some sort of negative reaction. It had had enough of Cobalion’s defiance, and would put a stop to it. The heat... no, the warmth enveloped him no matter where he ran, as if attempting to comfort him.
“This is getting tiresome. Tell your friend that you were just joking. We can’t have him running off,” it commanded Terrakion, hoping to use the Sword to help stall time for Cobalion to be affected by the warmth of the flame... whether he liked it or not.

[Terrakion once again obeyed without question, although it didn’t help its complexion to change, making it rather unconvincing.]
“I was joking, Cobalion.”
[The noble steel and fighting type legendary ignored the words it’s comrade said. Words alone wasn’t enough, not with everything else suggesting otherwise. The warmth did envelope the leader of the Swords of Justice, although it went ignored by it, the legendary instead glancing towards the flame with full intent on putting up as much resistance as it could. If it could just get rid of that flame, it would be safe. At least, until I could find who was behind this. It’s body tensed up to prevent relaxation, aiding to block out the warmth.]

“Don’t talk anymore, Terrakion. Just let your Master’s voice put you at ease. Smile and let your loyalty deepen further and further...” Mew commanded, figuring that attempting to use his help would only further complicate the plan.
To Cobalion, fighting against the flame would feel odd and... pointless. This wasn’t like any hypnosis he had experienced before; he wouldn’t feel sleepy, and he wouldn’t feel any desires of obedience... merely, the silvery flame seemed to inspire a sense of justice.

[The rock and fighting type legendary simply relaxed and smiled, allowing the voice to soothe it and bring it further loyalty.]
[Cobalion had expected to feel some sense relaxation or some degree of power to remove its ability to think. Yet, when it was met with the sensation of inspiring justice, it felt only confusion. Such a sudden difference to what it had expected caused it to become mildly curious, allowing it to look to the flame longer than it had originally planned. The rage upon the complexion of the leader faded, although resentment still lingered.]

“Hmm... You look very strong. I think you’ll make a nice bodyguard. Would you like to serve and protect your master, Terrakion? Nod but don’t speak, please,” came Mew’s command, a bit more casual now that it was fully confident in its control.
What was there to be angry about at this magnificent flame? It was practically the embodiment of justice itself, like a secret fount they had stumbled upon by chance. It swayed and shimmered, but didn’t flicker or waver one bit... just like his own iron will. The fact that a Sword of Justice was actively attempting to resist this feeling was just ironic.

[Without a moment of hesitation, the Cavern Pokémon nodded its head in response. It felt enjoyment in the thought of protecting its master, even more so in knowing that it was looked upon as being strong.]
[The eyes of the noble leader of the Swords of Justice squinted in suspicion towards the flame. The feeling of it felt. . . right. As if it was not something to be resisting. But Cobalion was no fool. It knew that such a feeling was a trick; to hide the true intention within something it could trust. Clever to have used a sense of Justice against it, but not quite enough. After all, it wasn’t that a few moments ago: why would it be any different now? Not to mention it seemed to control Terrakion in some manner. Cobalion pulled its gaze away from the flame and towards the shrubbery to its right, exposing only its left eye towards the fire.]

“Very good... Show me how good it feels to be good for your master, Terrakion,” it said in that soft, soothing tone, continuing to strengthen its already absolute hold over the Sword. He would swear he could even feel a gentle patting on his head.
Upon looking away, the flame just... didn’t do a single thing. It didn’t strengthen in an attempt to recapture the lost attention, or shift to hold his gaze. It merely sat there harmlessly and swayed, sharing its inspiration with him even while his gaze was averted.

[The Cavern Pokémon relaxed further, adoring the sensations flowing through it. The feeling of the small patting aided to make the experience all the better, causing it to close its eyes and raise its head up as if to meet with the sensation.]
[The Iron Will Pokémon only found greater confusion in the behaviour of this flame. It didn’t react as if to try to reacting its attention. No, it did nothing. Cobalion briefly glanced back towards it, debating approaching it. The chances of it doing something else was there, but was it really safe to try? It slowly stepped away, looking over towards its blissful comrade. It had to figure out some way of getting them both out of this mess. . . But how?]
