The Unova region, home to the largest diversity of Pokémon species of all. This included the Legendary Swords of Justice, a former trio-turned-quartet that protected the Pokémon of Unova and frequently trained amongst themselves. However, being renowned as Legendary Pokémon attracted attention, and not always the positive kind.
The group had decided to stay in a quiet, peaceful forest for the time being, away from the hustle and bustle of Unovan life. They had split up for the moment, an action that would unknowingly prove life-changing.
A small Mew hovered in a little clearing of the forest, the most unfitting of grins on its normally innocent face. For it looked down upon a pair of Pokémon with adoring smiles on their faces — Keldeo and Virizion, two of the Swords of Justice. They had seemingly fallen under this Mew’s control, ready to obey whatever it commanded.
“Well, that was easy enough... But there’s supposed to be four of you, isn’t there?” the Mew asked, tilting its head as it made the observation.

{The forms of both Virizion and Keldeo stood stiff as if standing to attention. Any semblance of free thought was absent from the minds of both Swords of Justice, leaving them only with unimaginable bliss, pleasure and obedience. Their minds took in the question as it reached their ears, their empty minds immediately searching for the answer through the memories. The two replied in unison, their voices monotone in cotrast to what it was normally.}
“Yes master.”
{Neither took their gaze from the smaller mythical Pokémon, their complexions reflecting joy in their mindless bliss.}

“You were supposed to tell me where the other two are... Ugh, it’s the worst when they’re still mindless like this. Never mind, I’ll find them myself. It’s more fun when I get to hunt them down,” Mew said with a little chuckle, starting to head away from its newly acquired slaves. “You two just sit there and talk about how much you look forward to worshiping me!”

{The legs of both legendary Pokémon bent to allow them to sit, the two soon bringing themselves down upon the grass. Their minds immediately filled with thoughts of what was to come, picturing themselves serving the Mew to its every whim. Their voices soon sparked with conversation, speaking to each other about those very thoughts. Neither could do much else, their voices gradually growing more emotional and breaking away from being monotonous in nature.}

Mew couldn’t help but stop for a moment as it listened to the words of praise and worship from these Swords of Justice. Something about this was different — Mew had always felt a rush of satisfaction after bending someone to its will, but this was different. These were legendary Pokémon, and they would now serve Mew as adoring slaves. With this in mind, the Mythical Pokémon giggled and whizzed away in anticipation, hoping to find the remaining two Swords.

{Neither Virizion nohr Keldeo took notice in the psychic type Pokémon leaving to find their comrades, remaining locked in their fantasies of servitude. So much so they failed to detect a pair of red eyes observing them, lurking within the shrubbery with a glint of affection.}

As possessive as Mew was over its newly claimed “friends,” it was so wrapped in in the process of actually hypnotizing them that it hadn’t bothered to look out for anyone who could interfere. It continued to search around, ready to check every corner of the forest to track down these other two Swords.

“Shouldn’t they be back by now? What’s taking them so long?”
[The gruff voice of the rock and fighting type legendary telepathically echoed out, resounding within the mind of the other Pokémon standing to its left side. The taller-standing goat-like legendary turned its eyes to the Cavern Pokémon, it’s face a stern glare of mild disapproval.]
“I do not know. . . However, I feel whatever is holding them may not be good. . .”
[Terrakion’s eyes shifted up to its leader as it replied before turning back towards the various bushes surrounding them. Cobalion looked up to the canopy above, its eyes narrowing with concern for its comrades. It gazed upon the softly swaying leaves, it’s mind debating what possibilities could have occurred that had delayed its allies.]

Mew almost blew its cover as its eyes fell upon the two Legendaries, nearly celebrating in delight as they were finally discovered. It gazed upon them firmly, wondering how to assess this situation. Keldeo had been naive and easily tricked and hypnotized, while Virizion had been a proper challenge for someone of Legendary status.
It became rather apparent that Cobalion seemed to be the greater challenge between the two. Calmer, and more composed, especially while they were worried about their comrades... and a will that was almost oppressively strong. After all, unknown to Mew, it was the Iron Will Pokémon.
Terrakion, on the other hand, seemed more emotional, more visibly concerned for its friends; perhaps more... easily manipulated? Yes, he would have to be targeted first. The opportunity had presented itself, as both Swords were currently looking in different directions. In a soft flash of light, Mew was no longer Mew, changed into a new form as it made its move.
While Cobalion was busy gazing upon the canopy and the swaying leaves, Terrakion would be presented with a new sight. A soft, pretty flame emerged from the bushes, swaying along with the foliage in a smooth, peaceful rhythm. It was a vigorous, earthy shade of brown, like a sturdy rock that refused to be weathered away — Something he could likely relate to. He wouldn’t have to stop and stare in one place to bask in its beauty, as it gently followed his gaze, like a guardian angel he could trust deeply.

[The complexion of the Cavern Pokémon lit up in mild curiosity as it’s gaze set upon the new object that emerged from the sea of green and dark brown. It’s thoughts immediately shifted to making attempt to figure out what was before it, its head tilting to the left in the process. It felt rather strange, as if the flame that danced before it brought a sense of comfort and relaxation. This inevitably only fueled its confusion and curiosity, keeping its gaze upon it. The colour mildly blended in with the shrubbery behind it, especially from the angle Cobalion would be able to look were it to turning its gaze to it.]
[The noble leader of the Swords of Justice lower its eyes to its right side, staring out into the short view through the forest. Its eyes remained narrowed, suspicion beginning to spread across its face. Something felt. . . off, about all of this. It’s eyes turned back to the rock and fighting type, noticing it’s confusion.]
“Is something wrong?”
[Terrakion continued looking into the flame as it heard the words of its leader, replying in honesty while still feeling somewhat confused to what the flame was.]
“A weird brown flame suddenly popped out the bushes. I dunno why, but it feels kinda warm. . .”
[The gaze of the Iron Will Pokémon shifted over towards the shrubbery, although initially failing to notice the flame. Although it only took a second for its eyes to track the movement, Cobalion’s gaze fixating upon the small flickering fire. It’s suspicion grew, feeling some degree of danger from the flame.]

Out of view, Mew scowled and silently cursed as its plans were unintentionally complicated. Terrakion had taken the bait and appeared to have started the plunge into submission. The bulky Legendary only needed to reeled in, and yet that process was stunted when the Rock-Type brought Cobalion’s attention to the flame. The strong-willed legendary was proving to be a pain, just as expected. The flame had been almost personalized, in a manner of speaking, for Terrakion and Terrakion alone, and would have a much weaker effect on Cobalion. The leader of the Swords of Justice would need to be distracted somehow for the plan to be carried out properly.
The canopy that Cobalion had been observing so intently would suddenly give off a rustle — an odd sort of rustle, as if someone had been hopping across branches and made a slight misstep; perhaps... following them? The sound was loud enough for Cobalion to take notice... but just not interesting enough to create a reason for Terrakion to break its gaze from the flame.
Even if Cobalion’s attention was diverted for only a few seconds, it would be worth it. A few seconds would allow the Steel-Type’s companion to gaze upon its flame without any bothersome interruptions... Yes, this was Terrakion’s flame, for it, despite the distance, warmed the Legendary’s body and heart, and watching it seemed to inspire vigor and strength in addition to wonder and bliss.

[It was strange, why would a flame be brown? That couldn’t be right, could it? Cobalion’s thoughts were cut off when a noise from above. The steel and fighting type’s head twitched upon hearing the rustle of leaves, its gaze turning away and to the source. However, it’s gaze quickly fell down to meet with a figure hidden within the bushes after it had given a small whisper to attract the leader’s attention. The eyes of the Iron Will Pokémon widened back up to what it was normally, a small sense of reassurance coming form the figure’s brief actions before it fled into the greenery. Yet, confusion came with it as well, prompting Cobalion to turn back to its comrade.]
[The longer Terrakion looked into the flame, the better it seemed to feel. The sense of worry gradually faded away, replaced by confidence. It felt so. . . relaxing, so. . . comforting. The warmth of it draw it in, locking its attention to it. Yet, such things were strange to feel from looking at an oddly coloured flame.]
[For a single moment, the rock and fighting type briefly shook the effects of the flame as suspicion came into its mind. Why would a brown-coloured flame appear before it? And why was it making it feel that way? It was TOO suspicious. Unfortunately for Terrakion, it’s mind failed to figure out the answers, it’s eyes still locked to the flickering flame. It had only truly delayed the slow process of submission, even if its complexion hadn’t changed much whatsoever.]

Mew did not fail to notice the light disturbance caused by the figure that had whispered to Cobalion, yet it could not afford to pay any significant degree of attention to it. Whether it was a meddling individual sabotaging the plan, a gust of wind, or a simple coincidence, it had caused Cobalion to return its attention to its comrade, which was more than irritating.
The leader would feel a gentle prodding on one of its hind legs, as if a small figure was trying to grab its attention. It felt urgent, yet not hostile. It was not uncommon for the Pokémon of the forest to turn to Legendaries in hopes of solving certain problems; perhaps a Patrat’s friend was in trouble, or the like.
Meanwhile, Terrakion would feel its questions answered as it stared and deepened its focus. The light’s earthy shade was so because it was connected him — a strong, mighty Rock-Type. It felt relaxing to watch because the flame, or, perhaps, whoever had created the flame, must have sensed his earlier worry. There really was nothing to be suspicious about, was there? Was there really anything wrong with feeling relaxed, trusting, and appreciated?

[Cobalion’s suspicions grew with each passing second. The sight of its comrade gave off an unusual feel, as if it was distant, inattentive. It didn’t help that a sensation on one of its hind legs was felt. Given how soon it had occurred after the rustle, Cobalion suspected it could have been a Pokémon who had traveled by the trees to get to them. Yet, it couldn’t shake the feeling that is wasn’t. It’s head turned slightly to its right, eyes glancing back behind it.]
”Yes?”
[Terrakion remained within its field of vision, the leader not feeling entirely comfortable with looking entirely away, given the rock and fighting type had not looked away from the flame the entire time. Cobalion’s voice echoed out to its surroundings, hoping to prompt a response if someone really was there.]
[With the sensations of the fire bringing it answers to its questions as well as all of the positive feelings, the suspicious of the Cavern Pokémon were swiftly burnt away. It didn’t need to worry at all, not of a flame that was connected to it, helping it. The feeling of trust towards it grew, making it all the easier to keep its attention without anything being able to distract it. Not even the voice of the steel and fighting type shook it’s focus. It’s mind slowed, starting to lose focus on the surrounding world.]

Mew’s eyes narrowed in concentration, and a couple beads of sweat formed on its forehead. Multitasking like this, especially in a different form and while creating a flame powerful enough to capture the attention of a Legendary, was mentally exhausting.
Cobalion would be met with the sight of a small plant sprig on the ground, with no actual Pokémon in sight. Oddly enough, the tip of the plant had ignited to reveal a tiny, flickering flame. This may have been connected to the earlier oddity in some way... Perhaps a closer look?
Trusting... Yes. This flame inspired feelings of trust in Terrakion’s very heart. It could trust the flame to provide guidance, relaxation... and bliss. The Sword just needed to show the flame that it had that trust... all of it, and not a bit less.
