This next story is one that i remember for my first DnD character, she was a half elf named.
Sasha, the One Armed Bandit.
Yes i was about 15/16 when i made this character, and yes she was a gimmic character.
Her gimmic was she was missing her left arm, her primary weapon was three spools of mithril wire, she carried strapped to her belt. (yes She was bassed on that character from Hellsing, i was not very original when i was younger)
We even had a home brew rule, on a critical hit when trying to lassow an oponant, i could roll a strength check, on a 17 or higher, i sever the linb or bobject i've lassowed.
This was amazing and pretty badass when it worked.
But when it failed.
You had a one armed, half elf girl, being dragged around by her target.
Yes that happened once.... ONCE!
It was the after school DnD group, we had a Human ranger, a Dwarf fighter, my half elf(also ranger), and our cleric(can't remember what race he was some kind of elf i think).
The adventure involved us having to clear out a cave the a Minotour had made home, he was attacking neerby villiges and rainding farms, so it was down to this team of level two GaggleF**ks to put a stop to him.
Long story short we enter it's cave a begin battling, naturally it comes to my turn to go.
"I'ma Grab this bull by the horns!" i said. so i roll to lassow the Minotour by it's horns, i roll a 17, success, "make a strength check to try and hold him in place" said our DM.
Natural... F**KING... ONE!!!
...
"You're pulled off your feet and flung around by the Minotour's emence strength"
Now it's the Dwarfs turn, his aim was to try and catch it un awares, while it's bussy trying to play Ball cup with the one armed half elf. the Dwarf tried to smash the thing from behind with it's battle axe. So he Rolls to hit, natural 1, missed the Minotour, flys past the Minotour, "okay your headed strain for Sasha, roll to avoid" and... he rolled a natural 1, so he hits me okay rool for damage... HE ROLLS MAXIMUM F**KING DAMAGE!, Sasha is pancaked onto the cave floor, by a one tone warhammer. I litirally face planted on the table, but we did have a good laugh about it.
DM did ask if i wanted to have her revived but i decided to roll a new character.
An amusing end to my first character and my first gimicy character.
