The Indian Jungle was a beautiful, tranquil paradise to those that visited it. For those that lived in it, it was a harsh environment that needed to be deeply respected in all aspects. Regardless of whether you were a visitor, or an inhabitant, there was no denying that both perspectives were true. The Indian Jungle was indeed a beautiful place, but also one that deserved everyone’s respect for the potential dangers found inside. Unfortunately…someone had just ventured into the jungle without giving it the proper respect it deserved. And that person was none other than a young Japanese girl named Emiko…
The events leading up to this moment actually started several years back when Emiko was just a teenager in high school. It was around that time that, through the schools foreign exchange student program, she met and befriended a girl from India about her age. The girl, Saira turned out to have a lot in common with Emiko in terms of their personality and as a result, the two girls ended up hitting it off right away. For the semester that she was in town, the two were almost inseparable and bonded quite strongly with one another. Like all good things though…it had to come to an end…
As the last day of the semester came and Saira was about to board her flight home, the two girls didn’t want their friendship to end with their parting. What they had was special and so the two of them agreed that they would do whatever it took to stay in touch as much as possible until the time came when that could meet up again. In the natural, that didn’t seem like it would be enough as the distance between them was sure to put a strain on their friendship. However, both girls were determined to keep their friendship alive, and that passionate fire would end making it last against all odds.
Over the next five years, Saira and Emiko’s friendship would not only survive the test of distance and time, but actually grow instead! The two stayed in touch frequently through phone calls and letters sent back and forth to one another. And each time the two girls spoke, it was as if no time had passed at all. They were able to pick up where they left off before and keep things moving along beautifully. While this was good and all, it wasn’t quite the same as actually being with one another in person. After all that time, Emiko was about to see her friend once again.
It took quite a bit of planning and budgeting to get up the funds. There was also the matter of needing Saira to make some arrangements to make the trip more financially possible, but after a while everything was all set! Emiko had packed her bags and was on her way to India for a couple of weeks where she would once more connect with Saira and spend time with her old friend once again!
It was certainly an exciting time and when the two girls met again at an airport in India, their reunion was one of tears of joy. They spent the entire hour’s drive to Saira’s home in a little town near the Indian Jungle talking about what had been happening to them in the last five years. True, they were already familiar with most of this stuff, but it was just nice to actually tell their stories again in person. Those stories would last not only for the trip home, but long after into the midnight hours with nonstop communication. After a while of catching up however, Emiko decided she wanted to talk to Saira about something rather serious. She hadn’t exactly come to India to only reconnect with her friend. She actually had something more in mind for the two of them…
Emiko had actually traveled to India in the hopes of starting a new life there. She had spent the last five years studying the culture of the nation and was prepared to do whatever it took to gain citizenship there. More than that though, she wanted to actually start something of a life together with Saira as the two of them were such good friends. However…Saira didn’t exactly feel the same way. She thought it was silly for Emiko to just pack up and leave without as much as a second thought and tried to make her see that. Unfortunately, this ended up causing a rather serious debate to break out that got so heated that it ended with Emiko actually running out of the house in both anger and sadness… In her frustrations just needing to ‘get away’ from things, she chose to run off into the jungle to cool off not realizing how horrible of an idea it truly was…
Emiko had only been in the jungle for half an hour before her frustrations with what had happened started to fade. Though she was still quite hurt by the fight she had with Saira and was questioning what she should do, she still had enough sense to know lingering in the jungle for too long was stupid… She had only wandered so far in and actually stayed close enough to the town’s edge that she should have been able to get back on her own. When she tried to, though…something ended up going horribly wrong…
Whether it was a missed trail, or something else, after another half hour had passed, Emiko had not made it back to the village. In fact, she would walk another half hour only to be met with the same result. It wasn’t until that half hour of walking turned into an hour that it really started to sink in… Somehow, someway Emiko had not only lost sight of the town, but had wandered so far into the jungle that she was now lost. As the realization hit her, a sense of panic and dread began to fill her soul…
She knew it wasn’t the smartest idea to come out into the jungle, but Emiko was just so upset at Saira… When she left that house, she didn’t feel like she had a friend in the world and couldn’t shake the overwhelming feeling of rejection from her friend… That though, while still in her heart took a back seat as the sense of fear took over everything forcing Emiko to push onward. Unfortunately, doing that was actually making her situation worse by pushing her even deeper into the wilderness…
While it was bad enough that Emiko was pushing herself deeper and deeper into the dangers of the unknown, she was not properly dressed or equipped for this terrain at all… Only expecting to go for a walk, the naïve girl had foolishly came into the jungle wearing only a short-sleeve, knee-length, white dress with pretty blue floral patterns spread throughout it. A light blue sash around her waist kept to keep the dress snug around her figure with a pair of simple black slip on flats protecting her otherwise bare feet from the terrain. Other than this simple, casual attire, Emiko was NOT prepared for this sort of trekking.
If Emiko had anything going for her in regards to her outfit, it was the fact that her long brown hair had actually been previously tied up in a bun to keep off her neck so it was cooler in the humid climate. This, along with matching brown eyes that were strongly attuned to the path before her were her only saving graces. But...with all things considering, it wasn’t exactly much to save her, or even get her out of this situation…
Emiko would end up walking for a half hour more before suddenly realizing how hopeless this constant wandering actually was… It was close to 3 in the morning at this point and all she was doing was making her situation worse. And for the first time since she came out here, she actually did a sensible thing by planting herself on a tree root and attempting to figure out what she should do now… She was in a lot of deep trouble that was for sure, but at long as she didn’t exactly move, she couldn’t make her troubles any worse. Unfortunately for her…by being so careless and disrespectful to the potential dangers of the environment, Emiko had actually put herself in the most danger of all… She was about to discover just how far down the food chain she actually was now…

In the deepest, darkest part of the Indian jungle, where sunlight and moonlight could only partially pierce the canopy of leaves provided by the massive trees that grew there, dwelt an animal unlike any other. His name was Kaa. Upon first glance, the animal in question might appear to be merely a massive snake, albeit a creature that seemed somewhat bigger than nature should allow. The python was covered in scales of brown, tan and black with some hints of green. These colors formed in vaguely circular patterns along the creature's sizeable body. The colorful pattern led it's way up the animal's body to his head, where the most distinct physical feature of all, his eyes. Large and completely yellow, save for the black dots that were Kaa's pupils. And it was these eyes that were one of Kaa's greatest most surprising, most dangerous assets. At will, Kaa could change the color of his eyes, yellow changing into spiraling rings of blue, green, purple and yellow. And with these bright spirals of color, Kaa could hypnotize any creature unlucky enough to get caught staring into his eyes. The end result being a potentially easy meal for this animal, who ruled the jungle. The other most unique thing that set Kaa apart from all other animals was that Kaa could understand and speak the same way humans could. Although deep in the jungle, there was no one for Kaa to speak to other than himself.
Kaa sat high in a one of the oldest, largest trees in the jungle. His long body was coiled several times around a thick, powerful branch. Many years before, he could travel through almost any tree he wished. But as he grew larger, he had to be a bit more careful about where he slithered. On this night the bright moonlight shone in patches through the leaves. From high atop his perch and his eyes attuned to the darkness, Kaa had a good view of the the trees beside him and the jungle floor which . Kaa flicked his tongue into the night air, looking to sense anything that might be out there. But from the branch where he lay he couldn't see or smell anything.
It was a fortunate thing that even a snake as large as Kaa could go long periods of time between meals. It had been a bit of time since his last substantial meal. Most animals seemed to give this section of the jungle a wide berth. Kaa wasn't sure, nor particularly cared if the other animals communicated warnings amongst themselves or merely used a primal instinct that told them that it was dangerous to go too deep into the jungle. He just knew that this part of the jungle was his alone. Not to say that animals didn't sometimes wander where they shouldn't. He even had, on very rare occasion seen humans come into his domain.
These creatures walked on two legs, and whose language Kaa could understand, if not fully grasp everything that he heard them say. It took several encounters, but Kaa learned that these were "man" and they did not come from the jungle. Almost always these "man" traveled in groups or pairs, so Kaa mostly stayed hidden high in the trees, watching. However he had decided that if the opportunity ever came that he should encounter one of these outsiders alone, he would not miss his chance. There were many things about "man" that piqued his curiousity.
Kaa, readjusted himself on the branch a bit, settling in. He had given up on anything outside of the ordinary happening. A few more nights like this, he might have to venture outside of his usual section of the jungle to search for sustainance. So resigned he was to a night where nothing interesting was going to happen, he could scarcely believe his eyes when he saw a figure clad in white emerge from the low treeline at the other end of the jungle clearing and move in a direct line towards the tree he was sitting in.
Kaa flicked his tongue a couple of times, and slithered forward on the branch, leaning his head downwards and trying to be sure he was seeing what he thought he was. The figure was most certainly the same species as the "man" he had seen long ago, but looked somewhat different as he looked closer. The figure was smaller in stature than the others he had seen and was dressed completely different. As the figure drew closer, he determined that this one was a female. Kaa noticed that she also did not seem to be carrying any sort of weapon or seem to have any way to protect herself. The garments that this one wore were bright but looked completely ill-suited for the harsh conditions of the jungle.
Kaa briefly wondered if he were imagining the sudden change in fortune that his night seemed to have taken. He closed his eyes for several seconds. Thinking to himself that when he opened them, there would be no one there. His yellow eyes peered into the night, looking at the clearing and for a moment he thought he had indeed imagined this lone "man" had wandered into his home. He then looked straight down towards the base of the tree and recoiled a bit, the tree branch giving out a single creak at his sudden movement. The figure wearing the bright white and blue dress was sitting on a large tree exposed tree root, right below him. Uncoiling himself from his branch, Kaa watched the figure below him as he started to slowly slither down the tree trunk, preparing to go greet his unexpected visitor.

The more Emiko thought about what she should be doing to try and get out of this situation, the more fruitless it seemed to be. Hardly being the nature survivalist or even enthusiast for that matter, she wasn't familiar with ANYTHING that could help her get out of this situation. Nothing she came up with would do her the least bit of good. It really seemed like the only way she was going to get out of this situation in one piece was for...someone to find her. Just how deep has she gone, though...? Would she ever be found...?
The negative, scary thoughts suddenly took a back seat as a crack from the trees above her spooked Emiko. She clinched up her entire body tightly with a nervous gasp before realizing that it was just the branches above making noises, most likely from the wind. Even though, that was a logical reason, she still had to keep reminding herself that it was all right and that there wasn't anything to be afraid of. It was true that she actually had a LOT to be fearful of right now, but if she took off running right now, she would just make everything worse...
It was the hardest decision for Emiko to make, and an even harder one for her to stay the course on, but she knew she had to just wait. She had figured that...surely Saira would have reported her missing when she didn't come back. Even if she waited til the morning, there was a really strong chance that someone would notice her missing and come searching for her soon. She just...had to be patient and wait out the grueling darkness to make it to morning. If she could do that, she was sure someone would come looking for her. At the very least, if she waited until morning, maybe she could even find her own way back when every inch of the jungle didn't look the same thanks to the darkness...
The best thing for Emiko to do right now was to just stay put where she was and wait, and that was what she was going to do. Unfortunately, she couldn't have picked a more worse spot to stay at and never even considered the fact that she might not be at that same spot in the morning... There was a long way til the suns rays of dawn spread over the jungle. And a lot could happen in that time...just as it seemed to be shaping up to...

"Cursesss," Kaa hissed quietly. If Kaa had been proficient in the very-human art form of profanity, it would have been put to good use at this moment. When he had shifted his body in preparation of making his slow descent down the tree trunk, his unexpected guest had certainly heard him. He saw her body tense up as the tree branch groaned and cracked due to his considerable weight. He paused, holding his breath, waiting several seconds to see if the noise frightened her enough to leave his tree. After about half a minute, seeing Emiko slowly start to relax again, Kaa let out his breath in a faintly audible hiss. He would have to proceed much more carefully. It had been a long time since Kaa had worried about approaching another creature so stealthily. Then again, it wasn’t every day that a lone “man” wandered this deep into the jungle.
Kaa slowly started his descent. His strongly coiled body winding its way around the thick trunk of the tree, while his smooth scales helped his body pass easily over the rough bark. He had been high up near the top of the tree, so getting to the base of the tree moving this slowly would take a couple of minutes. As he slithered, he kept his piercing eyes on his most interesting visitor. By the way she looked was looking around her surroundings, she seemed almost overcome with indecision. Kaa was almost certain that this one had gotten herself lost. As he thought of this, his thin mouth twisted into a smile. How unfortunate for this little one, he thought.
Kaa had never encountered another animal in the jungle like himself, which could understand and speak the way humans could. It occurred to him that his unique ability might also surprise the young female who had wandered into his domain. This was an exciting opportunity, so he had to be careful not to frighten her away. Since he had never had the chance to speak to “man” before, he had many questions for this one. He hoped she wasn’t too frightened by his presence, or too wary to talk to talk to him. If he greeted her in a friendly way, asking her if she needed any help and offering his assistance, she might actually stay where she was and talk to him. He could ascertain many things that way. Where had she come from, what she was doing so deep in the jungle and would anybody be looking for her? And if she was frightened or formed a distrustful opinion of him, As she should be, he thought to himself…then he could always use a little persuasion to help lower her guard. And if that happened, it presented many interesting opportunities.
Kaa came to a stop and slid his body onto a low branch that looked like it could hold him. This female was sitting on the large tree root perhaps 10 or so feet below him. From this height and the light from the moon, he could see her much better. The material covering the body of this person looked very out of place in the jungle. It stood out in stark contrast to all the colors in the surroundings. Most of her bare arms were exposed, as well as part of her legs. Taking this in, the python was more and more sure that this one was indeed lost, and more importantly, completely unprepared to be in the jungle. He shifted his gaze downward towards her feet and his eyes widened in surprise. Staring at her black, slip on flats, Kaa thought to himself, And what are THOSE? They looked completely ill-suited to be worn in the jungle. In fact, she would be better off walking barefoot he decided.
The thought of how unprepared this girl was, and how very lost she had gotten herself, brought another smile to Kaa’s lips. He had observed his unexpected “guest” long enough, now it was time to make his introduction. He lowered his head from the branch above Emiko as he began to speak.
“Hello little one. You look lossst. Oh please, don’t be frightened…other than myself, *I* have never seen a talking snake either. And that isss, as you can see, what I am.” Kaa tried to flash what he hoped was a friendly smile. “But if you like…you can call me…Kaa.”

The minutes that passed by felt like an eternity to Emiko... She wasn't exactly that fond of mother nature, and had a deeper spite for the darkness in general. Being stuck out here though with both of these things present around her was proving to be a nearly impossible thing to handle. She was already beating herself up mentally for how stupid it was for her to venture out into the jungle alone at night, but being lost in the wilderness at night and NOT running away to try and escape it was proving even harder. Honestly speaking, she wasn't even sure at this point if she'd be able to last until morning!
It wasn't long after this that she suddenly heard a voice in the night speaking to her. At first, her heart leaped for joy thinking that someone had actually found her so far into the jungle! When the voice she heard though didn't sound like it had came from around the area, it puzzled her... Emiko glanced around the area trying to find the source of the voice only to see darkness and jungle as far as the eye could see. There...was no one on the ground that had tried to reach out to her, so...where had the voice came from...?
She continued to glance around a tad longer until Emiko's attention finally looked up hearing someone talk again. When she looked up and saw a snake directly above her in this old tree, her eyes went wide in shock and a gasp escaped her lips in astonishment... Up in that tree was the biggest snake she had EVER seen in her entire life and worse than that...it started talking to her! Emiko couldn't believe what was before her eyes and playing out in her ears at that very moment!
She stared up at the python in disbelief for several moments unable to offer anything more than a shocked expression... Even as the snake encouraged her not to be scared and introduced himself as Kaa, all the poor girl could do was stare at him in shock. A part of her was starting to wonder if this wasn't some sort of trick of her mind, her tired and scared body suffering from delirium from what had happened. Whether or not the snake was really there, it didn't change the fact she was shocked out of her mind...
As a result of her nervousness, Emiko could offer Kaa nothing back in the form of a conversation... The words...they just weren't there to speak even if she wanted to. Unfortunately, it seemed that this foreigner wasn't only ill prepared for the jungle, but didn't seem to know how to handle its inhabitants either...

Kaa’s eyes never left the young woman sitting beneath him as he lowered himself and began to greet his visitor. He saw the confusion exhibited by her as he began to speak, she looked in every direction trying to find the source of his voice. In the shadows, he could even see what looked like a hopeful look on her face. Containing a chuckle, it brought him no small amount of satisfaction realizing that she had absolutely no idea what kind of perilous predicament she had put herself in. Kaa continued his introduction to his “guest” when finally she looked up at him. Internally Kaa thought to himself, that her reaction to seeing and hearing a creature as magnificent as he was, was appropriate. The girl’s eyes opened wide in surprise and she gasped as he lowered his head closer to her as he continued to introduce himself, telling her that there was nothing to be afraid of.
Introductions completed, Kaa tried as best he could to look non-threatening and friendly. This, as one could imagine, was a difficult if not impossible prospect. Several seconds went by, as the python stared at the girl, waiting for her to respond. It dawned on him that his sudden appearance, the fact that he was indeed a huge, talking snake and coupled with whatever misfortune brought her here might have been too much. She stared at him, shocked expression on her face and a frightened look in her eyes that Kaa had seen many times, with many different creatures. As the silence hung heavy in the air, he had an idea. He squinted with one eye and stuck out his forked tongue as he shifted his coiled body up in the branch. After several more second his tail was free, and he lowered it down from the tree.
“Sssoooooo….” Kaa began, drawing the word out until his tail was behind but level with the frightened girl. “You mussst have come very far to get here. It is not often that “man” venturessss this deep into the jungle. And never have I seen one travel alone. But there is nothing to worry about,” as Kaa said this, he used the tip of his tail to brush across the girl’s bare arm. “You are very lucky that you wandered into my…home. “There are far-less friendly animals in thisss jungle than I…and you look like you need assisss-tance. ” Kaa watched the girl’s face closely as he spoke, waiting to see how she reacted.
Patience was not one of Kaa’s virtues. The girl still stared up him with a mixture of surprise and fear. Kaa brought his tail gently across the small of the girl’s back, in what he hoped was a comforting way, also looking to distract her a bit as he brought his face closer to hers. As he moved in closer, he tried to catch the girl's eyes with his. As he did so, his yellow eyes sent a single colorful spiral through them. “Lisssten...I just wish to ssspeak to you." For now, he thought to himself. "Now let’sss try again...what is your name? And what bringsss you here this late in the night?

Emiko was frightened beyond all reason when the snake loomed over her. She was so paralyzed with fear that she could do nothing other than sit and stare. It was hardly her intention to be rude towards the giant predator as much as it was just...natural instinct for someone like her. That fear only grew more intense as the python gently brushed along her arm to make itself known that he was all all around her in the area. It was at this point where hysteria started to really set in on her body...
With the snake coming every loser to her face, Emiko started to whimper quietly feeling as if she were about to get hurt or worse. Her soft whimpers were accompanied by a nervous, almost hyperventilating breath all of a result of fear. And it took everything inside of her not to let fearful tears run down her quivering cheek. The snake tried his best to console her that everything was all right and that she looked like she needed help. However...his words fell on deaf ears as she just...couldn't look past the simple fact that she was staring at a huge, talking snake while being hopelessly lost in the jungle...
It was about this time that the fight or flight instinct was about to really kick in, especially when the snake trailed his tail up along her back. She was honestly just about to give the snake a punch in the snout and take off running into the dark when suddenly...something ran through the snake's eyes. It was only a single, hypnotic flashing ring of color that Emiko couldn't comprehend at the moment. When she saw that lone ring though, it changed her demeanor considerably...
She was still quite frightened after everything she had just been exposed to, but a wave of blissful relaxation swooped in and spread throughout her body significantly diminishing her fears. In that moment, her body began to loosen up and fall back to a normal state of being or...at least a state out of hysteria. When the python insisted that they try this whole thing again, Emiko strangely felt compelled to answer his questions where she hadn't necessarily before...
"...M-my name is...Emiko..." She softly whispered in a somewhat shaky voice. "...I...I just came out to the jungle to...to cool off after a fight with a friend... B-but...I got lost and...I...I don't know how to...how to get back..."
It was an amazing change inside of the nervous girl to go from a hysterical state of being to a small crack of openness that allowed her to communicate with the snake as if it were nothing. And honestly speaking...Emiko didn't understand herself why she was suddenly feeling much calmer and able to speak to Kaa without the slightest hint of hesitation... She just felt...like a connection had magically established itself even though what really happened was much more serious. That one lone ring...changed everything. And it was certainly not the last she would see this night, that was for sure...

"That'sss better. Emiko...what a charming name." Finally the barrier of silence had been broken. It hadn't been without a bit of coercion on his part. Prior to letting loose with a single hypnotic spiral, Emiko had not responded to his efforts at conversing with her. And what he thought might be a reassuring touch with his tail, seemed to frighten her even more. As naive as Kaa had assumed this girl to be, her basic instincts seemed to not be failing her. Kaa *wasn't* exactly harmless, and deep down Emiko seemed to sense this.
So when that single, colorful spiral spun through Kaa's eye, much to his satisfaction, he saw an immediate change in the girl's demeanor. Her voice was still a little skaky, but as he had hoped, she felt compelled to answer the snake. He continued. "As I said before, my name is Kaa...and thisss is my home. You mussst have gotten yourself quite lost to wind up here. We are very deep in the jungle." Thinking that Emiko might be a little less frightened by his touch, Kaa touched the tip of his tail across her left shoulder and ran it along her back all the way to her other shoulder, as her continued to speak.
"You're very lucky to have run into me, it was very dangerousss to run off alone. there are other...things in this jungle to be wary of. But I am quite unlike all those other sssavage creatures." As Kaa spoke these words, he let a couple more colorful spirals pass through his eyes. He felt it was important that Emiko lower her guard even more. "I have ssseen and observed your kind before in this jungle. They called themselves 'man.' But you are...different then they were. And I have never have had the chance to ssspeak to one before. This was an unex-ssspected surprise on this night"
Hoping that she was now even more susceptible to his words and actions, Kaa pressed his luck even further. "If you don't mind me sssaying," Kaa used the end of his tail to touch Emiko on the shoulder, and run it down the side of her dress. "You don't look as though you came prepared to be out here. Thisss...thing that you wear, does not seem sssuited for the jungle." He lowered his head to look as her feet, clad in her black flats. He flicked his tongue out before raising his head to look Emiko in the face again. "Especially not thossse things on your feet."
He felt Emiko was lowering her guard, he hadn't done anything other than speak to her, apart from subtly using his eyes to make her a bit more open to suggestion. "You sssaid that you had a fight with a friend? It mussst have been bad to make you come this far into the jungle. You know, I *could* help you find your way. But firssst, I want to hear about your friend." As Kaa was speaking to Emiko, he had moved his face to bring himself roughly eye-to-eye with her. At this moment, he let his yellow eyes spiral with their hypnotic colors for several seconds as he continued to speak to Emiko while staring into her eyes. "Tell me all about your friend...and isss there a chance they might come looking for you?"

Emiko was still quite frightened by the snake's sudden and unbelievable appearance to a point where she didn't quite take the compliment to her name as anything special. Her fears had washed away enough with that single spiral to not feel the need to take off running, but her emotions were still quite high as was that adrenaline flowing through her. Given time though, these things were sure to fade even more with the inevitable coming spirals the python was sure to send her way. And the saddest part of all of this was the fact that Emiko was none the wiser about what had happened, or what was about to happen in the times to come...
When the python went on to reintroduce himself and explain that this was his home, Emiko's expression didn't necessarily change all that much. When the python pried into the fact that something bad must have happened for her to be THIS deep in the jungle, a new emotion started to creep into her body in the form of sadness. Being suddenly reminded of HOW she came to be in this situation only made her feel worse than she already was. She was honestly so distraught and miserable that she didn't seem to care when the snake rubbed his tail along her shoulder and down her back. While she didn't necessarily care...at least she wasn't scared of it showing...modest improvement?
At this point, Emiko wasn't exactly sure how she was feeling between being scared of the snake before her and the sadness of he intense fight she had with Saira. Initially, it didn't help matters much when the python went on to explain that there were many dangers in the jungle she could have run into that could easily end her. Things suddenly changed yet again when the snake sent two rings through his eyes into the emotional girl...
Like the first ring, Emiko felt a wave of peace and bliss run through her body numbing her to the mixed feelings she was experiencing. When that second ring was added to the mix however, the dulling of her emotions were doubled making her feel almost...normal again. At the very least like everything was ok and safe. With those rings, Kaa was able to instill into her being that she was lucky to have found him and that he wasn't like the savage beasts of the jungle. Those two little rings...so simple in nature were enough to change Emiko's entire feelings about the snake...for now...
The potency of those rings really came into play when the snake was able to stroke along the side of her dress without the slightest fidget or hint of resistance. She didn't even feel all that bad when the snake commented on how silly it was for her to be out in the jungle dressed as she was. Though...honestly she was still beating herself up a bit over that. And just those few rings actually allowed the snake to come in close to her eyes where she looked back curiously, but still showing some signs of fear and sadness in her eyes. Her body wasn't quite reacting to those emotions now, but her eyes certainly were. And that...was about to change yet again...
When the spirals returned in Kaa's eyes yet again, this time with a few more in number, their effects were immediately profound. Emiko felt drawn to look deeper into the snake's eyes as if she were magnetized to them or something. The rings flowing before her body made her feel the strangest sense of peace and bliss... She...honestly didn't know what was going on. In fact, she didn't even seem to realize that there was something out of the usual with the snake's eyes as they made her feel all these different emotions at once. Instead, she treated it as perfectly normal, having her conversation with the snake like it was no big deal. Though...the conversation did take a bit of a bitter turn when Kaa asked about her friend...
"...I...I don't want to talk about her or the fight..." Emiko said, surprisingly defiant despite falling into the snake's hypnotic eyes and words. Still...her reasons following this assured him as to why. "...It hurts to much...Please...I don't even want to think about it... I don't know...if anyone is coming for me or not... I feel...so helpless and alone..."

As Kaa talked to his "guest," he closely watched how she reacted to his words and how she responded when he used his tail and ran it across different parts of her body. He observed Emiko's natural reactions, and then how those changed as let loose with first one hypnotic ring, then two. She seemed far less frightened and open, acting as though conversing with a large, talking snake was a normal thing. And she hadn't acted fearfully or with disgust at his touch. He received a bit of a surprise when he pressed further, asking about her friend and how likely it was someone would come looking for her. When Kaa stared into Emiko's eyes and asked these questions, he let loose with a couple seconds worth of hypnotic rings. While Emiko's eyes did seem to lock onto his, he had expected her to be even more susceptible to them. He had expected her to answer him without much hesitation. Whatever happened with Emiko and the fight with her friend must has have upset her greatly. And her words about not knowing if anyone would look for her and feeling so alone made her sound so sad. Had Kaa any real sense of sympathy he might have been moved by this exchange with his visitor. However, the great snake put his wants and desires far above anyone else's feelings.
"Oh...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up such a sssensitive subject. I only wished to lend an ear." He chuckled at his own joke, "So to ssspeak." He thought to himself that Emiko wasn't consciously aware of what he was doing to her with his eyes, and he wanted to keep it that way. At that moment he let a couple more colorful rings pass through his eyes as he looked straight into hers. "But I'm sssure your friend is worried about you. Does ssshe live near the jungle?" Kaa had a few ideas in mind. While the appearance of Emiko's friend wouldn't entirely be unwelcome, he had no desire to see her on this night. He had plans for Emiko.
"It'sss actually almost impresssive that you found your way here, not many do. And far fewer find their way out again. But you know, you're not alone. You have found me. And I know we have just become acquainted, but we could sss-certainly become friendsss." Kaa let some more spirals loose when he said this. He wanted those words to sink in with Emiko. He had briefly considered trying to overwhelm Emiko with his hypnotic gaze, as he did with other prey sometimes. He certainly had never passed up the chance for an easy meal. But Kaa was enjoying this game and how this girl was slowly started to fall under his spell...and she was far more interesting than he had expected.
"You know, you seem awfully upssset." He slid his tail up around Emiko's shoulders, as a friend might put an arm around a friend's. "I hate to sssee that. And if we are indeed friends now..." Kaa let a couple of rings pulse through his eyes as he tried to catch Emiko's gaze yet again. "...I could try to sssee if I can help you with that. You see, there'sss more that is special about me than just the fact that I can ssspeak. I am very ssskilled in the ways of calming and sssoothing those who are upset." Kaa moved his head from side to side a bit as he brought his face closer to Emiko's, seeing if she kept her eyes on his, trying to gauge how powerful a hold he had already gained. Bringing his face close to Emiko again, and trying to keep direct eye contact as he spoke, Kaa let loose with the strongest pattern of hypnotic rings yet. He wanted Emiko to ask for his help, but he was not above influencing her decision. "All you need to do is asssk and I could help you relax, little one. You can trust me."

Emiko truly was as helpless as a lamb, and she was so oblivious to Kaa's eyes that he was getting away with feeding things into her mind without her even noticing. Sure, she occasionally took notice when the snake's eyes shifted colors. However, the feelings the colors left her with were so intoxicating that any wonder or question about the python's eyes would fade with the moment. She couldn't keep her mind suspicious or aware of the colors flowing through the snake's eyes even if she wanted to. As was the case...she certainly didn't want to right now.
That said...anytime Kaa inquired about Saira, Emiko was defiantly resistant not wanting to talk about it. Her facial expressions showing angst were more than enough to show her displeasure even if the rings flowing through the snake's eyes brought about any sort of peace. That fight...it was so intense that just the mere thought of it was enough to ruin the hypnotic effects the snake tried to employ. If her face didn't show her displeasure, her words certainly did...
"...N-no... She lives in the village. She..." Emiko tried to explain, trying so hard not to cry. "...I just...don't want to talk or think about her... I can't..."
Emiko was honestly so upset that she was just about to get up and leave when the python suddenly changed the subject about how she had impressively made it so deep. Curious, she listened on as the snake insisted she was lucky to have found him and that the two of them could certainly become friends... At that response, Emiko was about to quietly speak out against the idea when those rings flew through his eyes once again... With her mind elsewhere instead of the fight with Saira, those rings sand in hard and deep taking with them the very idea that they could certainly be friends...
Almost right away, Emiko started to feel a lot more at ease around Kaa. It was powerful enough that she didn't jump or flinch when the snake gently curled his tail around her shoulder happily. This, followed by a couple of more pulsing rings set in the idea that they were friends. Starting to feel quite dizzy now from the onslaught of colors, poor Emiko started to sway a bit showing the hypnosis was starting to impact her body in more ways than just mentally. Though...her words were quite encouraging to the snake as well as she uttered a positive response...
"F-friends...? I...I'd like that...to be...friends, I mean..." Emiko softly replied as she started to sway with Kaa's eyes not able to take hers off of his for an instant... "...Y-you...can help soothe and relax me...? I...I could really...use some of that after tonight... If...it's not too much...trouble...?"
She had taken it hook, line, and sinker... Emiko could keep herself from asking for the very thing the python helped to instill into her mental being. His powerful rings had reduced the frightened, heart broken girl to a calm, swaying girl with an idle curiosity about the snake. To her in this moment, she felt like Kaa was her friend and just wanted to relax and forget about everything... As long as the snake stayed away from the topic of her fight, she was sure to go along without any sort of resistance... The ball was ultimately in his court with her at his playful mercy...

Kaa was delighted with the way things seemed to be playing out. Well...*mostly* delighted. Emiko was every bit as innocent and naive as he could have possibly hoped for. For the entire length of their conversation, he had subtly been chipping away at her resistance and implanting suggestions with the help of the rings of color from his hypnotic eyes. The girl seemed to be much more relaxed now than when she first laid eyes on the python. She also conversed with him without hesitation, as though meeting a talking snake was the most natural thing in the world. However...not everything was going entirely perfectly.
Kaa cared very little about the specifics of the arguement between Emiko and her friend. But he *was* interested in how likely Emiko was going to be missed. Anytime he pushed for details about her friend, Kaa was shocked at the change in his young visitor. While Emiko otherwise seemed rather helpless and malleable, when he mentioned her friend or their fight, she seemed to grow resistant to his influence. She wouldn't hardly speak of it, and her face contorted with subtle signs of anguish as she fought back tears. Kaa had never encountered anything like it. And if he didn't know any better, she looked as though she had thoughts of actually walking away. He was in a way, impressed. But seeing this reaction from her made Kaa realize that he needed to abandon this line of questioning.
Kaa realized the angle he needed to take right now, that he needed to offer this girl what she was currently lacking...a friend. Before she could object to the notion of being friends with a creature like him, Kaa used the colorful rings from his and his soothing words to try to allay any doubts she had. When she didn't react to him wrapping his tail around her shoulder, Kaa finally started feeling more confident in the direction of their conversation.
"Yesss...we could certainly be friendsss. You are quite far from home, and it is unlikely you would find another creature in thisss jungle as...errr...friendly...as I. It might be nice to have a friend looking out for you." As Kaa spoke he kept his eyes locked onto Emiko's. And he was very pleased to see that when he swayed his head from side to side, Emiko also swayed with him. This brought a wicked grin to his face.
"Why yes, I could absssolutely help sooth your worries and help you relax. It would be no trouble at all. This sort of thing is a kind of a ssspecialty of mine." His eyes reflected blue, yellow and green as he sent a few more rings through his eyes. "It's a technique that I've perfected over the yearsss. Now it is very sssimple." Kaa made sure to slide his face directly in front of Emiko's. "Just take a deep breath and try to empty your thoughts." Not that *I* won't be taking care of that for you, Kaa thought to himself. "Now...look into my eyesss. I'm curiousss Emiko...what do you sssee?" Kaa waited a couple moments for Emiko to actually look into his eyes as they were naturally, and possibly formulate an answer. Right then, the python let his eyes fill with rings of color. The rings flowed through his eyes fairly slowly, but they filled his eyes. Unlike every other time so far tonight though, Kaa continued to let the rings spiral through his eyes.
Testing how effective his efforts were, Kaa ran the tip of his tail along Emiko's ankles, his smooth scales brushing against her soft skin. And he began to cool his tail loosely around the bottom of her legs, going just up to her knees. "Just relax...and look deeply...and give your thoughts and worries a ressst. And he longer you stare, the better you ssshall feel. You can trussst me."

Emiko couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and delight when the python informed her that they could most certainly be friends. The hypnosis that he had sank into her being made her at least open to the possibility before. At this point when the snake went so far as to actually confirm it along with the fact that he was the friendliest one around, it just seemed to fill her up with joy. It distracted her so much that...she didn't even seem to notice the wicked grin on the snake's face as it came into clear view in a display that should have greatly alarmed her...
The colors in Kaa's eyes began to flow once more in the most soothing way as three long, powerful rings flowed through Kaa's eyes. As they did, Emiko was once more transfixed and magnetized to their sight feeling the effects of those colors wave over her body like a splash of cool water on a hot summer's day. She felt so relaxed and at peace seeing those colors, REALLY seeing and noticing them for the first time since this all started. And his words...that it would be no trouble at all to relax her and that it was a specialty of his. His next question to her though about what she was seeing made her realize something unusual... She...WAS seeing something in the snake's eyes...
For a brief moment, Emiko seemed to realize that the snake's eyes were actually changing colors and flowing with rings of color. She didn't necessarily put two and two together that she was feeling quite relaxed and at peace because of the colors, but just the strange, shifting colors alone was enough to make her realize something wasn't right. She was honestly so stunned by the realization that she hadn't noticed this until now that she couldn't answer the snake initially as to what she was seeing because...even she didn't know. Any thoughts she had of concern or worry were just as swiftly washed away as they came when the snake let his eyes fill with the spirals nonstop this time...
As the rings gently flew through Kaa's eyes this time in full force, Emiko was captivated in a way she hadn't ever been before... Her eyes gravitated to the python's eyes and all of a sudden, the most wonderful feelings of bliss and peace began to fill up her being in a way she had never felt before. It was so intense that even the slightest touch of his coils as his tail gently brushing against her legs felt like heaven. When a gentle moan escaped her lips at the feel of his tail on her ankle, it might have been obvious that Kaa struck a rather weak point on the naive girl...
While Emiko seemed to accept the hypnosis and even Kaa's touch without much reservation, it was nothing compared to how powerful his words seemed to be. At just the suggestion to relax and look deep, Emiko's body limply fell into bliss as she moved forward just a little to take in more of Kaa's hypnosis. Her thoughts seemed to empty of all thoughts leaving her to just stare and openly accept everything that was happening without the slightest hint of fear or worry. And then, he uttered a very powerful phrase that seemed to strike a cord with Emiko... He said that she could trust him... And for some reason, just that phrase was all Emiko needed to blush and even smile a little showing how nice it was to have someone to trust in...
"...Y-yes... I would...like that..." Were the only words she could respond, the only thoughts in that currently pretty, empty head of hers...

When given a proper chance to take hold, Kaa's hypnotic eyes had never failed him yet. He was pleased to see how well Emiko was responding to the effects of them. His words were also helping to wear down the resistance of his "guest." Assuring her that he could help her and that he could be trusted, these suggestions seemed to be sinking into her mind. Kaa could see on Emiko's face and with her body language, how much more relaxed she was. And if he was not mistaken...she actually looked happy, as she gazed into his eyes. This might be easier than I had thought, Kaa thought to himself
It was that feeling of overconfidence that almost cost Kaa. Feeling as though Emiko was perhaps a little more captivated than she was, he asked her what she could see as she stared into his eyes. He had expected her to helplessly try to describe the rings of color that were passing through them or how she they made her feel. But at that moment, the briefest look of doubt appeared on her face. As Kaa looked into Emiko's eyes, for the first time he saw uncertainty, as though she realized something was wrong. For a fleeting moment, Kaa wondered if had made a mistake. Perhaps this naive girl was a little stronger than he thought. At seeing her momentary bit of resistance, Kaa decided that independent thinking on Emiko's part was counterproductive to his plans. The serpent then let hypnotic rings of color flow through his eyes freely.
Any question of the effectiveness of his power was erased as he watched Emiko as she gazed into his endless, spiraling eyes. Her own eyes were glued to his, and her face wore an expression of pure happiness. As he observed his handiwork, he brought his tail and used it to slide across he legs and coil around them a little. A first test to see how she responded, he had big plans for this careless girl. To his surprise, as Kaa's tail brushed across Emiko's ankle, she let out a soft moan. Kaa was not exactly an expert on human behavior, but it had sounded to him as though she has liked the touch of his tail and feel of his scales. How unexpected and...interesting, Kaa thought to himself. As Kaa continued to let his eyes try and further hypnotize the girl, he kept up with reassuring her that he was a friend and that he could help her relax. Emiko took a few short steps forward to seemingly take in even more of the python's hypnosis. It was when he once again assured her that she could trust him, that he finally elicited a response from her.
"That's good, I would like it if you could trussst me as well." Kaa spoke softly and continued to keep his slowly spiralling eyes fixed on Emiko's. "You know, you seem much less stresssssed than you did a few minutes ago. I could help you relax even further you know? That is...if you would like to" Kaa used the tip of his tail and ran it across the top of Emiko's feet, before looping it around her bare ankles a couple times. "Oh, I hope you don't mind my tail. I just like how soft your skin feelsss." Kaa wound his tail up even higher, going up around he knees. "Now...where was I? Ahhh yesss..." Kaa brought his face even closer to Emiko's. If he had flicked his tongue out, he'd have been close enough to touch her face.
Kaa had Emiko in a compromising position, seemingly open to his words and starting to fall under his hypnotic power. He decided to press his advantage. "You just need to keep staring into my eyesss. Thisss will help you relax even further, I asssssure you. Can you see the colors as they spiral through my eyesss? How one color flowsss into the next? It's important to keep your eyes focused on them. Even if it might appear that the colors are flowing fassster, don't stop watching." At this moment, Kaa let the rings of color in his eyes speed up to a medium level of speed. "I promise you that if you just keep looking into my eyesss, that you will feel so much better." Kaa kept his eyes locked onto Emiko as he tried to get her to take in more of his hypnosis. Kaa dared to let his tail creep up even higher on Emiko, around her waist. "It's so easy to get lossst staring into my eyes, but that'sss...perfectly natural. It feels so nice, and it's so easy. And if you keep staring into them, I can promise you that soon you will have no worries or even thoughtsss at all."

The hypnosis that Kaa was pouring into Emiko was proving to be very effective. And the longer the poor girl stared, the weaker she seemed to become...mentally speaking. She was already prone to the python's suggestions at this point and for whatever reason that would have been obvious to her had she known what was going on, she found the snake's words like music to her ears... In fact...everything Kaa did from how he spoke to her to how he touched her was inviting... Emiko just couldn't stop herself from admiring this snake...
While Emiko continued to helplessly stare away into the python's eyes, she listened to how the snake would love for her to be able to trust him and that he could help her relax even further than what she was already feeling. His words were briefly interrupted when the python let his tail run across the tops of her exposed feet before looping around her ankles casually. Kaa insisted that he just liked the feel of how soft her skin was, but...there was clearly more behind his actions than he was letting on. Unfortunately in her current state, Emiko...couldn't exactly argue that she didn't like the feel of his scales touching her...
Kaa's coils became something of an afterthought when the python's eyes started to gradually pick up in pace. She watched as the rings before her began to grow steadily in speed until they were at a moderate speed keeping her focused and captivated beyond all reason. With the hypnosis flowing so smoothly, yet effectively before her, all poor Emiko could do was sit quietly and stare into the snake's eyes... Even his words for a time didn't seem to register in her brain as she was too busy absorbing those colors. While Emiko's body couldn't do much on it's own, her eyes...were starting to suddenly change due to the hypnosis before her...
Without even realizing what was going on, Emiko's own brown eyes began to gently shrink down to the level of a mere pin-prick. Her pupils would remain small like this for a moment or two before gently blossoming open to flow with colorful rings all their own. Having been exposed to the hypnosis for quite a while already, it was honestly a miracle Emiko's eyes hadn't shifted like this before. Now that they were flowing with spirals, she was starting to feel the effects of them quite strongly...
Each color that flowed through Emiko's eyes swept over her mind and eroded portions of her conscious mind much like the ocean washing away layers from the land. Each time a piece of her mind was washed away, it became harder and harder for poor Emiko to consciously think of anything on her own. Instead, she was developing a growing submissiveness towards Kaa's eyes and words to the point that...whatever he said was basically law... She hadn't even had her eyes swirling for more than a minute when Kaa was able to put out the promise that soon she would have no worries, or even thoughts at all which at the time sounded delightful... Emiko had no idea just how dire her situation was and was totally oblivious to it... She didn't even seem to feel the coils steadily rising up on her body to coil her up going as far as to her waist without being noticed...
