Kaa gestured with his tail. "Well? Can you see your way home?"

Lily took a few steps closer towards the end of the branch but due to the thick foliage of the other trees, it was hard to tell where the jungle ended.
The girl lowered her head, "I can't," she said.

"Oh dear..." Kaa lamented. "And it's getting dark out. We certainly can't have you going to your home through the dark. What if you run into a tiger, or a leapord, or a bear? *Gasp* Oh my!"

Lily raised an eyebrow at that.
"I maybe lost Kaa but I'm not that ignorant," Lily said firmly and she took a few bold steps closer to the serpent's head. "I still have plenty of time before sunset, there are no leopards in this jungle, and there hasn't been a tiger sighting in weeks." after saying this, Lily realized she was too close and her timidness returned. She took a step back. "Although if you have a suggestion on how I can get back to civilization, I would appreciate that very much,"

Kaa decided to change tactics. He turned towards Lily and looked her directly in the eyes. "Yes, I do know. It's a long way from here," he hissed, a single spiral passed through his eyes. "It's dangerous to travel in the jungle alone," a second spiral. "Perhapssssss it would be better to wait for the night," a third.

The rings passed quickly through Lily's eyes and they made his words seem reasonable but the girl barely noticed.
"Why should I wait?" Lily wondered.

"Becaussse," Kaa hissed. "If you go into the jungle now, you will be out with the predators, and maybe even a tiger will catch you." A few more spirals flew out of his eyes.

The rings drilled the information into Lily's mind.
"I- I suppose that's true," Lily said. "Oh, what should I do?"

"Wellll," the python and his spirals suggested, "you could stay here with me for the night. I really don't mind." He was now pouring a gentle, but steady stream of spirals in Lily's direction.

Lily's eyes began to reflect the spirals slowly and her mouth hung agape.
"I... I wouldn't want... trouble." Lily stuttered.

"Oh, it's no trouble at all," Kaa hissed. "You will be safe and sound, wrapped in my coils, and sleep the night away... "

Lily's knees began to buckle as she stared into Kaa's eyes. The spirals in her eyes began to pick up speed.

Kaa caught Lily by her waist to keep her from falling. "Yeeeees, man-cub. Go to sleep..." His tail gave her waist a tight squeeze, then began to slide he coils around her body, her hands disappearing within the folds of his coils.

The snake's tail saved the girl from falling over but if Lily had a clearer mind, she would have resisted. Lily tried to move her head but her gaze was trapped staring at Kaa's eyes.

Kaa began to sway back and forth in front of her. "Rest in peace, man-cub," he hissed. His coils wrapped around her torso, and slid beneath her chest, trapping her arms to her sides.
