Soraya hadn't even realized it, but she was indeed dangerously close to unleashing a burst of magical power once again. If she had done so in her current state, there was no telling what sort of damage she would do... It would hardly be on the level of when she transformed, but considering she was more nervous in that moment than when she saw her changed appearance for the first time, the level of destruction would have been beyond just a shattered mirror. Thankfully though, Asha saw to it that Soraya calmed down before it ever got to that point, and frankly not a moment too soon.
It wasn't but a moment after Asha made her way over to Soraya that the young girl saw the hypnotic silvery glow of her Mistress' eyes shine. It was only for a brief moment or two, but what a powerful moment it was... Before, Asha had been able to calm Soraya and lull her into a state of peace with just the slightest of touch. And an embrace or other sign of affection melted her of all emotions entirely and leave her in the most wonderful state of bliss. Seeing those eyes though, even for as brief as it was proved to be the most powerful experience yet.
Soraya's body instantly seem to freeze in place and her attention fell swiftly and precisely on Asha's eyes. Inside her soul, all sense of fear and worry vanished without a trace and were instantly replaced with feelings of peace and bliss. Her gazing eyes, once filled with so much fear faded to a look of peaceful submission mirroring the state that Soraya seemed to be quite comfortable in. She had only been exposed to Asha's hypnosis for a single moment, but that was all it took to jar Soraya out of her fearful state and put her in a blissful state she found herself most comfortable in.
As Asha's eyes faded to their natural color effectively ending the hypnosis, Soraya could still feel the affects of them on her being long after. She felt so submissive in that moment that she didn't hesitate in the slightest when Asha gently lead her into the room. Though, Soraya did move about this time with a much more relaxed form with tension no longer being present in her body. And quite honestly, Soraya almost seemed like an entirely new person once she made her way into the open room to see the lovely placement of the furniture.
A soft smile spread over Soraya's lips as she blushed, looking around the lovely space. Her innocence showed incredibly strong when Asha explained in what should have been a questionable statement that the girl that lived here had moved out of town for now and that they were free to stay here where it was perfectly safe and sound. Before, Soraya might have questioned it a bit more thoroughly, but Asha's hypnosis along with her still transitioning being made her accept her Mistress' words without even the slightest hint of doubt. That gentle innocence of hers...just seemed to radiate more with each passing second.
"...I'm glad that it's ok for us to stay here." Soraya softly replied as she looked about the beautiful room as if she were staring into a mansion full of wonder. "...I really wouldn't want to be rude and intrude in someone's home... That's not...how I was raised to be. As long as it's ok that we stay here while your other Maiden is out of town, I think I would really like that. It's such a big and lovely home... I've never lived in something so grand before..."
With a smile spreading over Soraya's lips, the young girl gently did a little twirl along with a feminine giggle showing just how happy she was to be in this house. She felt like she had just won the lottery or something and got to actually live in this beautiful home. Best of all, she was going to get to live here in perfect safety with her Mistress all by themselves. It was just so perfect in her eyes! It...truly was astounding what Asha's hypnosis had done to Soraya and just what shined through the young Maiden when she was in her most peaceful state.
After doing her little spin, Soraya suddenly stopped and glanced towards Asha with a slight frown on her face. She bashfully hid her hands behind her back and stood meekly before her Mistress as if she had just realized something was seriously wrong... While this might have brought alarm to Asha initially, Soraya's words or...request rather would inform her that there was nothing to be alarmed about other than Soraya's own personal sense of hygiene.
"Mistress... Would it be all right if I were to freshen up and get a change of clothes...? I went through a lot yesterday and I'm a mess after all of it... I haven't changed since yesterday and...I really would like to get cleaned up and change into something cleaner if...that is ok?"

“Yes, it is quite a nice abode,” Asha said, leaning back into a nearby couch. It was rather homely, she supposed, as far as Cambridge went. Asha had seen more palatial residences in her days, some her Maidens had lived in actual palaces back in the day, but, alas, those days were long gone now. Asha watched Soraya carefully, feeling for tension in her spirit, but, after that moment of nervousness in the entrance, she seemed to have calmed down entirely. Asha allowed herself an indulgent smile. She had managed to suppress Soraya’s fears at just the right second to keep her from another outburst. Asha was pleased to see Soraya smile, twirling in place as she took in her surroundings, gazing at the bright, yellow walls, light streaming in from the slim windows. Asha leaned back in her seat, letting out a relaxed sigh, finally feeling at peace. Soraya wasn’t ready to save her sister just yet, but at least now they were in a safe place where she could be trained.
When she looked back to Soraya, she was momentarily alarmed to see Soraya looking nervous again, a bashful expression on her face. Asha thought for a second that her nerves were already starting to return to her, but, upon hearing that Soraya only wanted to freshen up, let out a little chuckle. “Oh, certainly Soraya! There ought to be a bedroom upstairs, you can take whatever’s up there that fits. I should warn you,” she added, with a wry smile. “They might not be the most fashionable clothes, these days.” Asha giggled to herself, imagining how distressed she would have been, to learn that fashion had left her wardrobe behind. She watched Soraya make her way out of the room, and allowed herself a moment longer of reflection. Listening for a moment to make sure Soraya was away, she slid down from the seat, landing on her feet, stepping cautiously forward, making her way back to the entrance, to stare once more into the family photos, her eyes fixing on the same brown-haired girl she had looked at so intently when she and Soraya had first crossed the threshold.
She didn’t need the photo, she remembered every single Maiden, each one of the women who had made the bond with her. But, all the same, it was nice to see her like this, smiling with her family, happy, at ease. Asha could almost hear her laughter echoing across these familiar halls. This was how she deserved to be remembered, how Asha wanted to remember her. Still, she couldn’t help but think back to that dark and drizzly evening, all those years ago. She closed her eyes, trying to force those memories back, taking a deep, steadying, breath, before turning, making her way back to the living room.

As Asha went on to tell her young Maiden that it was totally ok that she got herself cleaned up, Soraya couldn't help but smile happily. However...when Asha pointed out that there were some clothes up stairs in a bedroom she was welcome to, Soraya suddenly got silent. At first, she seemed like she might be getting a little nervous, but inside that pretty head of hers, she was actually starting to feel happily anxious. Soraya...wasn't exactly well off as her previous living conditions would have clearly demonstrated and the only clothing that Soraya had with her were second hand pants and shirts from a thrift store. When she heard that there were actual clothes here in this house that she was welcome to wear, whatever she wanted, she started to get really excited.
Soraya did her best not to let her emotions show, but it was obvious that she was ecstatic at the opportunity to wear something other than her common, every day pants and shirts. She gave Asha a gentle nod of her head to show her Mistress the respect she deserved before slowly backing out of the room. Once Soraya was out of site however, she zoomed up towards the bedroom as fast as she could anxious to try on the 'new' clothes up stairs. Though her initial demeanor would lead Asha to believe she was just happy to have something to wear, the...sound of feet swiftly running up the stairs made it clear that Soraya was as excited as a young girl on Christmas Day.
Once up stairs, the first thing Soraya did when she found the bedroom was open the closet door to see a closet full of beautiful, though somewhat dated dresses. Despite being hung up for quite a while, they were still in pristine condition. Just the sight of these dresses alone was enough to make Soraya feel all manner of joy. She let out a girlish squeal followed by a giggle as she rummaged through the various dresses. And a glance into the tags in the back revealed that they were ALL her size. Whoever this girl was that had lived her previously had a figure similar to Soraya meaning she had to have been someone in their early to mid twenties as well, or took extraordinary care of herself.
After several minutes of browsing through the various dresses, Soraya finally found one she REALLY liked. Pulling it out of the closet, she blushed intensely at just how beautiful it was. She wanted to try the dress on right away and show it to her Mistress, but...she remembered that she had came up here to freshen up first and THEN change. Considering she hadn't even washed her face since yesterday and cleaned up her body, she decided that changing into the dress could wait at least a little bit.
Soraya made her way out of the bedroom and took a quick detour to the bathroom just down the hall. It was a slightly bigger one than the bathroom she had in her old apartment, but still modest in some ways. She took several moments to wash her face and give her body a light sponge bath just to get herself cleaned off. All the while she wiped herself down, Soraya's attention would often look to the mirror before her to examine her own reflection again. Earlier when she had seen herself, she was startled by her appearance to the point of bursting her magical energy out. At this point though, her light blue hair and matching powder blue eyes were actually starting to grow on her. Towards the end of her little sponge bath, she even smiled at her reflection starting to grow quite fond of her change.
"...At least my hair isn't black..." Soraya softly whispered to herself before letting out a soft giggle. "...I think I can live with my hair and eyes this pretty shade of blue..."
Concluding her business in the bathroom, Soraya made her way back to the bedroom where she eagerly removed her clothing from the previous day and slipped into the beautiful dress she had laid on the bed. As her slender form slid into the dress with perfect ease, it fit on her to absolute perfection. The dress was neither too tight, nor too lose on her body and wrapped around her form comfortably like it was hers to begin with. Soraya felt so beautiful in this dress and the way she wore it felt so natural...so right. She was so excited about how the dress felt on her that she just had to show it to her Mistress!
Eagerly, the now barefoot Soraya swiftly made her way down the hall and once more down the stairs. Once at the base of the stairs, she composed herself and politely entered the room in the same manner that she had exited by showing Asha the sincerest quiet respect. As she came into view, Soraya was beaming from ear to ear with absolute joy. Quietly, she called out to capture her Mistress' attention so she could show her the absolutely wonderful dress that she had found. She hoped...that Asha would think she looked pretty in it!
"Mistress, I'm back and all clean now!" Soraya softly called out with a giggle. Once Asha's eyes were on Soraya, the young Maiden did a couple of twirls to let Asha see how perfectly she fit in the beautiful dress showing it off like a child might to their mother. "I found an absolutely beautiful dress up stairs I really liked and wanted you to see! What do you think of it, Mistress?"
The dress that Soraya had chosen to wear was rather simple in nature, but beautiful in design. It was a royal blue dress with the skirt portion of the outfit extending to just beyond Soraya's knees. The long sleeves from the shoulder down to the cuffs at her wrists were a bright shade of white along with a v-neck collar that was also gleamed with the white fabric. Around Soraya's waist was a thin stretch of white cloth sewn into dress that made it look like she were wearing a sash around her waist. This addition to the dress sas little more than a decorative piece to the outfit to add some light to the otherwise solid royal blue outfit.
Soraya was so pleased with the dress she had found and that pleasure was radiating strongly from the smile on her face. It was the most beautiful dress she had honestly ever put on in her life and she was adoring every moment she got to be in it. In her heart though, she hoped that her Mistress approved of it and liked how she looked in it, too... Honestly, Asha's opinion was so important to Soraya that she could instantly have a change of heart regarding the outfit she otherwise loved if her Mistress didn't like it... Soraya was so hopeful that Asha would approve.

Asha arranged her face into a curt smile as she heard the sound of Soraya making her way back down the stairs, casting all thoughts of *her* to the back of her mind. Now was not the time to dwell uselessly on the past, not even she, with all her grand, cosmic powers, was able to change it. No, now was the time to prepare this new born maiden for the fight of her life, what may well be the battle between light and darkness that would define this entire generation of mankind.
Then she saw Soraya, dressed in that deep blue dress that fit her almost perfectly. Asha gaped at her for a few seconds, her eyes wide. The resemblance truly was uncanny. Her bare feet, the white sash tied around her waist, the way she practically bounced with excitement as she twirled in place. It was just like her, and the name came flooding back to her, so viscerally that she almost shouted it: Samantha Rogers. She had been a powerful maiden, had fought and made Cambridge a haven of light for many bright years. The fact that this new girl was just as pure, just as bright as Samantha, it ought to have reassured Asha.
But it didn’t.
She felt only a deep, unsettling dread as she was reminded exactly how unprepared this girl was for the task that awaited her, not only on a physical and magical level, but an emotional one too. There was a war that would be out there for Soraya, the second that Druj wanted to test his new enemy, and it was all but guaranteed that he would, and she was nowhere near ready for it. Asha’s head turned to the window for a second, calculating. It was still morning, noon drew closer with each passing second. They had lost practically the entire morning, and every second they spend chatting was wasting daylight.
Mumbling something noncommittal about Soraya’s outfit, clearly at odds with the way it had stunned her, Asha rose to her feet, her wings twitching slightly as she gazed into Soraya’s eyes, a fire burning within Asha’s own eyes. She reached out, and let a hand rest against one of Soraya’s shoulders.
“Thank you,” she murmured, her voice quite quiet. “You have taken on the mantle of the Maiden of Cambridge. This is not an easy job, this is not a safe job. You knew that when you agreed to that, but know this Soraya.” Asha’s eyes blazed with radiant fervor. “I will do whatever I can to make this as easy and as safe for you as I can. You have potential, more potential than anyone I’ve seen in many, many years, my dear, but even the finest of metals must be forged, must be put under immense heat before it can be shaped into the weapon that will push back darkness itself.” Asha’s lip curled, as her eyes sparked, glowing an angelic white, instantly captivating, her magic glittering, glowing in her pupils. “Druj’s maidens will not wait for you to be ready to be ready before they begin their hunt. I must not wait to prepare you for them.”
With a quiet flutter, Asha’s wings spread open, rising up, though the spirit remained firmly on the ground, her eyes glowing, as she held Soraya in her gaze.
“My dear Soraya, the time has come to begin your training.”

Soraya was so proud of the dress she had found that she anxiously stopped twirling to see how her Mistress might respond. While she was hoping her Mistress might display the same feelings of pride and joy that she was feeling, Soraya was instead...greeted with something entirely different... At first, it seemed as if Asha were indeed happy to see Soraya in the dress, but her look of joy quickly faded into a glare of serious concern... Seeing that look of concern on her Mistress' face rather than a look of being pleased brought a gentle frown of disappointment to Soraya's lips...
She gently lowered her arms to her sides and watched as Asha turned her gaze away to glance out the window taking in the time. When she did this and offering only an inaudible mumble about the dress, Soraya's cheerful spirit was instantly crushed. She quietly looked down to the floor at her feet and did everything she could to keep from letting tears flow. This dress...it was so pretty and how she looked in it was so important to Soraya... All she really wanted was to know that Asha thought she looked nice too and felt pleased with her. That naive innocence inside of Soraya though was EXACTLY the reason why Asha wasn't pleased... And Soraya's childish response was proving just how right the angelic being was to worry about her Maiden's lack of preparedness...
Soraya stared down towards the floor silently for as long as Asha remained sitting. When her Mistress rose to her feet though and gave a flap of her wings, Soraya's attention instantly rose as well. She still had the saddest gleam in her eye, but did her absolute best not to let it show in the slightest. However, when Asha made her way over to Soraya and gazed into her light blue eyes, it was as clear as day how she was feeling... Even if Soraya was able to keep herself from physically showing her disappointment, her eyes couldn't lie about how she was feeling... And yet...Asha seemed to realize that time was of the essence and that they didn't have the luxury to worry about things like this right now...
The young Maiden listened quietly as Asha went on to explain pretty much what she had been told last night... About how she had taken up a huge responsibility and was in for a very hard, dangerous job. Her Mistress' reassurance that she'd do anything she could to keep her safe was comforting in some ways. However, Soraya's mind was still on the dress she was wearing rather than Asha's pep talk of how she intended to forge Soraya much the same way a precious metal was purified by the flames. In fact, Soraya was actually JUST about to say something when Asha's eyes suddenly started to glow with that beautiful, angelic white hue once more...
Upon seeing Asha's eyes, all the thoughts that Soraya had just suddenly faded away... All of her emotions, worries, concerns...everything just faded away leaving only Asha's hypnotic power center stage in her mind. That's when Soraya heard Asha for the first time. By that, she could really hear just what her Mistress was trying to say to her this whole time. Soraya wasn't ready for the dangers that was coming and Druj's maidens would be coming for her and destroy her if given the chance... Soraya hadn't realized just HOW serious it was until this moment, but...she understood just how dangerous her current situation was now...
Quietly, Soraya continued to stare deep into Asha's eyes no longer thinking about anything but the situation at hand... Even as Asha's wings spread open and rose up, Soraya paid it no mind. She just gazed deep and hard into Asha's eyes for as long as they glowed that hypnotic glow, nothing else mattered. Asha's eyes were like a god to Soraya and her Mistress' words anytime she found herself gazing into those eyes was law... It was so powerful that when Asha insisted that it was time to begin their training, the only movement Soraya could offer was a gentle nod of her head. That nod, was naturally weak due to feeling immobilized by Asha's hypnotic glow, but it conveyed the message Asha needed to know. Soraya understood what time it was and was ready and willing to start her training...

Soraya’s glum expression took Asha off guard, but it was only on the girl’s face for a few seconds before it faded, washed away by Asha’s hypnotic aura. Asha paid it little mind, though she was admittedly surprised that her spirits had dropped seemingly instantaneously. Regardless, it was much, much too sudden a shift for any Maiden who stood a chance at surviving an encounter with Druj’s minions, much less Druj himself, who, after all, had taken a personal interest in Soraya before she had even become a maiden.
Maidens, whether for Light or Darkness, drew their power from within, and their attitudes and emotions played a crucial role in how well they were able to control their own magic. An overly emotional girl like Soraya would have no shortage of magic, if she was able to meter it out properly, but it would be much too easy for her to use up far too much magic far too quickly, and be helpless to whatever force she might not have been able to subdue. The thought worried Asha to know end, and she frowned slightly, concentrating on Soraya entirely, her hand gently moving up to stroke the girl’s cheek, as she leaned closer still to her Maiden.
“Soraya,” she whispered, her voice faint, but still more than audible to the girl, just a few inches away. “You are…” she paused, trying to come up with some way to phrase this without hurting her feelings, before pressing on. “you are emotional, my Maiden. That is good, your emotions are your power, but you must learn to control them. You must be more careful. When you face a foe, you must keep your emotions in check, or you will quickly burn out.” She paused for a moment, before realizing what she had said. “Not, not literally, of course, my Maiden, but...you will be out of energy, unable to fight, and you will need to fight, my Maiden. Night after night, you will need to keep your emotions under control. You will face Druj’s servants, you will face Druj himself, but...” Asha paused, before speaking again, her words a little louder now. “But it will be the only way you will be able to save Nur. It is the only way to save your sister.” Her words echoed with hypnotic authority, as her hand gently moved down to cup Soraya’s chin, gently holding her little head in her palm, keeping the girl’s eyes fixed on hers.
“Do you think you can do that for me, my Maiden?” Asha asked, looking for a response. It was enough for Soraya to take in Asha’s hypnotic aura when she had been becoming a Maiden, but now, now that she needed to be trained, she would need more responses from the girl. This would be but the first of many of these hypnotic sessions, as she trained Soraya for the combat that awaited her, and she needed to have some way to keep the girl in the right state of mind, accepting of her words, but not passively under her spell. It required some skill to keep someone in just the right state of mind, Asha believed, but, she thought with a smile, she had had quite a lot of experience with this.

Soraya was so lost in Asha's gaze, and found herself falling further and further into it with each passing moment. She had only been staring into the angelic being's eyes for what amounted to a couple of minutes, but to her it felt like an eternity. In Asha's eyes, time seemed to just stand still making the minutes seem like hours. All the while that she stared, Soraya could think of nothing on her own and was utterly blank beyond the silent meditation on Asha's words. In this state, Soraya was basically a blank canvass that could be formed and molded with incredible ease, and it seemed Asha was already planning to use this state of Soraya's to their ultimate benefit.
The young Maiden's ears instantly perked up when Asha started to address her with her concerns for the very first time. Soraya listened intently as the angelic being revealed how she was a very emotional girl and while that emotion gave way to great power, it was critical for her to control it. Failing to do so could result in anything from carelessly putting herself in harm's way against Druj's minions to burning herself out of energy. Soraya NEEDED to control those emotions of hers if she hoped to not only survive the tough battles she had in store... Her success and very life were all riding on her ability to keep her emotions in check...
The information that Asha relayed to Soraya didn't fall on deaf ears. In fact, Soraya was so open and accepting of what was spoken to her that she took every word to heart without a second thought. She remained rather calm all things considering until...Asha reminded her of why she had became a Maiden of light in the first place. Somehow from the process of being transformed to where they were now, Soraya had nearly forgotten what compelled her to keep living and to fight against forces beyond her comprehension... She had forgotten all of it just seeming to be content to have a mother figure in her life. In this state of clarity and peace, she was able to remember again and restore her conviction to save Nur...
When Soraya remembered why she was fighting, her fists began to clinch tightly in anger. Not at Asha, but at Druj for what he had done to both her and her sister... She could feel the hatred for the forces of darkness growing inside of her and how she wanted to destroy that which had tormented her all of her life... None of these emotions could be seen on Soraya of course, as she was far to mesmerized by Asha's eyes to show any sort of physical emotions. In her eyes though, Soraya's spirit was burning with passion and strength. And the light inside of her being wanted to unleash all of that on anything she deemed as an enemy...
Soraya understood perfectly what Asha was trying to say and rediscovered the reason for why she needed to fight. It...may have taken Asha's hypnotic powers to get the young Maiden this focused and determined, but at least she was in the state she needed to be in in order to properly learn and fight. There were still a lot of uncertainty and questions for Soraya moving forward into the future. At least for now though, she was focused enough to start training and determined enough to see things through.
When Asha gently cupped Soraya's cheek into her hand and held her face, the young Maiden instantly felt compelled to lean forward into her grasp. Her Mistress' hand was so nice and she loved the way she touched her like this... Almost as much as how wonderfully powerful her eyes were. Despite how much she loved being under Asha's influence, Soraya seemed to somehow read her Mistress' mind in that the response that she needed to give had to be more than just her passiveness... She knew what her Mistress desired, and did her absolute best to present a proper response to Asha.
"...Yes, Mistress..." Soraya softly replied as she gazed happily, but determinedly into Asha's eyes. Soraya took extra care to make sure that her words were firm and sure while at the same time being respectful and gentle. "...I understand what needs to be done, and...I will do my best... No matter what it takes... Please...teach me... Teach me how to use my abilities so I can save her... So that...I can save...my sister..."

Soraya was an open book to Asha. Even if the spirit hadn’t been able to view her maiden’s very being, she would have known, her face, when so hypnotized, wasn’t able to hide the slightest thing. She could see every little emotion, the fluttering awe of Asha herself, the burning desire to submit, to follow Asha’s every little suggestion, and, as she mentioned Nur, a rising fury, blazing rage at Druj, that sinister spirit who had taken so much from her. She spoke slowly, the hypnosis perhaps making it a little harder for her to reply to Asha, but each word was firm, unwavering, so unlike the way the anxious little human that she was when unhypnotized. Each word made Asha feel more and more satisfied that she had made the right decision in making this girl a Maiden. She was driven, determined to achieve her goal, to save her sister. If there was a way to send this girl, this version of Soraya, against Druj, Asha was certain that she would do better. She wouldn’t be able to beat the serpent himself all on her own, of course, but she had the potential to fare fairly well against-
Asha froze, her eyes widening. It was true, this girl had potential, but Soraya still did not have the knowledge of her own magic to use it in any sort of way, beyond the unintentional explosions that had shattered her mirror back at her own home. Asha was silent for a moment, pondering the best way to explain it to her.
The spirit took a step forward, her hands reaching out to take one Soraya’s own between her palms. She raised it up. “Magic exists within everything, Soraya. Every living creature has some little bit of it within them. Humans have more than most creatures, and Maidens have more of it than most humans.” Asha leaned over, so that her eyes bored into Soraya’s for a few seconds longer. “I can sense your magic within you. It glows off of your being, off your very soul Soraya. You can feel it too, can’t you, my Maiden?” She paused, for a short, quiet moment, before speaking again. “Close your eyes, my dear. Feel the magic within you and then...see it. See it blazing there, just under your skin, magical energy, potential to be the greatest Maiden of the Light this city has ever seen.” Asha shivered at the words, gazing somewhat apologetically towards the entrance room, where Samantha’s photograph still smiled blankly into the hallway. She turned back to Soraya, and continued to speak. "Focus, Soraya...focus...and see."

Despite the resolve that Soraya had in her mind and in her heart to save her sister, she didn't one time let those feelings inside of her disrupt her from gazing deep into Asha's eyes. As long as her Mistress' iris were glowing with that silvery hue, Soraya didn't dare take her eyes off Asha's or show even the slightest hint of disobedience. It was by this power that Soraya felt most connected to her Mistress. While that valued connection was important to and for Soraya, the young Maiden was actually missing the bigger picture all together. It...wasn't necessarily Asha that Soraya needed to be magically connected to as much as it was something much more basic, yet critical...
It was only a moment after finding that sweet state of emotion along with the proper resolve she needed before Asha finally brought to light one of the fundamental aspects of what she needed to understand about being a Maiden. Soraya listened intently as Asha explained to...the best of her ability about how magic worked. She explained how all living things on the planet had a source of magic within them that would flow. Humans had more than most creatures while Maidens had a greater deal of it than most other people. This stuff...was all very basic and nothing necessarily new to Soraya considering Asha had explained this to her in a way the night before. The young Maiden though was about to have her eyes open to the truth about magic.
A gentle blush spread over Soraya's cheeks as Asha leaned in to bore her hypnotic powers into the young girl. Somehow with Asha's eyes closer to her own, Soraya could feel the hypnotic state she was in somehow deepening... She once again starting to lose herself in the beautiful trace she was in by letting her mind give way to the bliss. However, she was snapped back to attention when Asha once more offered her words of wisdom to her young Maiden to keep her focused and mentally present.
It was in this moment that Soraya heard Asha proclaim how she could feel the magical energy glowing out of the young Maiden's body, flowing from her very soul. However, when her Mistress asked if Soraya were able to feel that very magic, silence was the only response the young girl could give. She...honestly couldn't feel anything flowing or glowing out of her as Asha put it and her silence was confirmation of that. What Soraya couldn't feel though was what she couldn't see. She may have been in the dark right now figuratively speaking, but Asha understood that she needed to really be in the dark in order to see the light...so to speak...
When Asha instructed Soraya to close her eyes and feel the magic within her, the young girl didn't hesitate to obey. She slowly allowed her eyes to shut and did her absolute best to feel what was flowing just under her skin. For several moments, Soraya stood perfectly still trying as hard as she could to feel, or...see something as Asha instructed. Yet initially, somehow Soraya couldn't see or feel anything. All she 'saw' was the darkness under her eye lids and all she 'felt' were the normal sensations of her body. There was nothing out of the ordinary to Soraya right now that she could see or feel. however, when Asha insisted that she focus harder, it was then that she finally started to truly see it...
It was so faint at first, but little by little, Soraya's deep focus allowed her to see a trail of light flowing in the darkness. Its initial faint glimmer gradually grew brighter and brighter until she could see what looked like a stream of light flowing much like a river with a swift current of magical energy. Seeing this current also allowed Soraya to FEEL the energy as a source of warmth and brightness that came with the light. The flow was so powerful and positive that it left Soraya feeling indescribably wonderful...
Somehow in that moment, Soraya's body seemed to just know what the young Maiden needed most. As a result, the magic within her actually began to work in Soraya's mind to form a perfect mental image of just what Soraya was seeing. In that mental image, Soraya was looking at what seemed like an outline of herself. Inside of her body, the young Maiden could see the magical light energy flowing from her beating heart and traveling all through her body. The energy was flowing along the various currents of her body much like blood flowing through her veins. She could see it all so clearly now and began to finally understand what was happening under the surface. And seeing the light for the very first time was understandably breathtaking to say the least.
"...M-Mistress... I..I see it...I feel it..." Soraya softly whispered as she smiled in disbelief. This sight, these feelings...they were all so amazing to her. "...It's...so beautiful, so warm... This is...all in me...?"

Asha watched, with a satisfied smile, as Soraya’s eyes stared into her own, eagerly and obediently taking in the sharp, hypnotic glow, reflected just so slightly in her own eyes, so that her pupils sparkled and shone. She felt Soraya’s trance deepening, bit by bit; she was submitting as quickly as she could.
At Asha’s words, Soraya’s eyelids gently slid shut. Asha watched her tranquil face. Her eyes narrowed slightly behind her quiet lids, as she tried to obey her, as she began to visualize the magic that seeped out of her very being. She could see realization as it dawned on her, as she began to see past her closed eyes what Asha could always sense, the magic that flowed through her. Asha beamed at Soraya’s smile of recognition, as she realized that the flows before her very eyes were magic, in its purest elemental form. She could see it, shimmering in the darkness, warm as life itself.
She let out a little chuckle at Soraya’s question, and gently shook her head. “No, my Maiden. It is not in you...it is from you. You are not a vessel of magic, my dear, you are a source of it.” Asha leaned closer, raising a warm, faintly glowing hand up to press to Soraya’s chest, her tone growing quieter, gentler still. “Feel it, Soraya. This magic, it comes from you, you radiate magic. It comes from your very soul. Feel it, right here, at your very center.” The glow to Asha’s hand grew slightly brighter, slightly hotter against Soraya’s delicate frame. “All that beauty, that warmth that feel, Soraya? It is you. You are that beauty, that warmth.” Gently, she pressed her hand ever so slightly against Soraya. “This...this brightness you feel within your soul...this is what it means to be a Maiden. This is the magic that you can rely on, Soraya, the magic of your own soul. And it is this magic that you will learn to channel when you fight for me.” Slowly, Asha pulled her hand away from Soraya, her eyes on her face, trying to gauge her expression. “Do you understand this, my Maiden?”

Seeing and feeling this magic inside of her for the very first time, Soraya couldn't quite come up with the words to describe the feelings... It was so faint, yet so powerful... It was so delicate, yet so firm... The magic flowing through her, seeing it and feeling like this left the young girl lost in a state of both curiousness and wonder. In fact, her emotions seemed to be as mixed in nature as the very magic flowing within her being.
Soraya's 'vision' of the magic inside of her initially only showed her the faint flow of her own powers. However, when Asha gently laid a hand onto her chest and radiated her own magic against her heart, somehow Soraya could see it. In her vision, she could see a blinding flare of light being emitted at the center of her magical flow. While this left her feeling astonished all on its own, it was nothing compared to what she saw Asha's magic do to her own magical flow.
At Asha's magical touch, Soraya's heart seemed to beat faster displaying an obvious sense of joy at her Mistress' touch. What stood out however, was that somehow the magical current within Soraya's own body seemed to react by picking up in pace as well as intensity. It was erratic, almost wild at first, but once the magical flow had 'stabilized', Soraya was stunned to see that the magical flow inside her body had seemed to double in strength. That flow only grew stronger the more Asha poured her magic into her heart helping the maiden to see just how strong and powerful this all was. It helped to also instill the point that her heart was the center of it all and the magic wasn't so much something flowing out of her as much as it was HER!
Soraya's magical current only flowed at this extreme magnitude until Asha lifted her hand from Soraya's heart. As this happened, Asha not only removed her own magical presence, but physically separated the two of them as well naturally causing Soraya to feel a soft sense of disappointment at having something so grand taken away. As a result of this action, the vision in Soraya's mind put the consequences of this into full display. Her magical current, once flowing so bright and strong rapidly dwindled until it was but a small stream, if even that... It was when this happened that Soraya came to realize two very important things...
The first thing Soraya came to realize was just how potent her emotions were when it came to her magical powers. She had felt both the feelings of joy and disappointment and saw how each one had a dramatic effect on her powers. It definitely reinforced the critical truth about how her emotions affected everything considering that her powers were essentially her soul. More important than that however was the realization of how Soraya was connected to Asha... Asha had used a fraction of her power against Soraya's heart to whether intentional or not, change and control her magical flow. Seeing the results of this action inside of her, Soraya understood that...however Asha had brought out her powers, it had connected Soraya soul to Asha. It...started to make sense why Soraya had the seemingly natural urge to look to the angelic being as her Mistress, or...find notions like fighting FOR her a natural and acceptable thing.
As all of this knowledge and wisdom sank into Soraya's being, the young maiden gently allowed her eyes to open where they instantly went back to Asha's warm, silvery gaze. With a new understanding of what was happening under the surface, and exactly how it was happening, Soraya own eyes seemed to dance with enlightenment displaying that she clearly understood what Asha was trying to teach her. If her eyes weren't enough to confirm the truth for her Mistress, Soraya's soft words she uttered certainly did.
"...I understand, Mistress..." Soraya softly whispered as she smiled submissively to the angelic being. "...I understand that the magical flow is...my soul... My emotions control that flow depending on how I feel, and...that flow...is connected to you... It is my duty, my purpose to fight for you...to channel this flow and use it for the benefit of the light..."

At the being’s words, at her mere contact with Soraya, Asha could feel the magic within her spiking, rising up like a tsunami of pure energy within the girl’s very being. Even as she drew slightly away from her, breaking physical contact with Soraya, and as Soraya’s magic dwindled, Asha could feel that potential burning within her, so much boundless potential.
With the lost contact from her mistress (a title that Asha was coming to realize she would have no choice but to accept), Soraya’s wide slid slowly open once more, the dazzling blues of her eyes shining silvery as she was immediately captivated by Asha’s own radiant, glowing visage. As Soraya’s mind slipped back down into that peaceful trance state, Asha saw understanding in the girl’s expression. She seemed to understand, more fully, what it meant to be a Maiden of the Light, what it meant to have magic, to be magical, not in the way Asha and Druj were, but in that remarkable way only humans, it seemed, were capable of. Asha smiled, nodding encouragingly at Soraya’s words, as the girl confirmed what Asha had read in Soraya’s face, and reached forward, taking one of her hands into her own again, squeezing it gently.
“Of course you understand, my maiden.” she said, smiling down at her. “Deep down, in your very soul, Soraya, you have always known.” Gripping Soraya’s hand slightly more forcefully, Asha guided the girl up to her feet, wrapping an arm around her waist to help the tranced Soraya from flopping over. “But, my dear, as I’m sure you’re aware, there is a difference between understanding and actual performance.” Once she was convinced that Soraya wasn’t going to slump over onto the floor, Asha gently let her hand slide away from Asha’s, and, silver eyes still locked on Soraya’s blues, she took a step backwards.
“Different maidens manifest their magic in different ways. Because each of you are different kinds of sources, it only makes sense.” Asha took a deep breath, casting a quick glance around the room. It was full of breakable things, irreplaceable paintings hanging from its walls, not exactly a great place for Soraya to try manifesting her magic for the first time, given her track record of magical destruction. Asha’s gaze shifted past the room, through the windows, for the first time since she’d returned to this house recalling a small garden. High walls, low houses surrounding the lawn, it made for the perfect place for a maiden to train with her in secret.
Asha leaned forward, her arms wrapping around Soraya’s shoulders, her cheek nuzzling against Soraya’s for a moment, as she murmured “bear with me for a moment,” into her Maiden’s ears. With a swoosh, Asha’s wings unfurled, long, majestic, feathery wings. Although her wings had reared up, it was only a moment later that Asha’s body began to quite smoothly glide upwards, taking Soraya’s frame easily up with her. Asha’s wings did not flutter in the slightest, and yet she and Soraya continued to float along with ease, as Asha slowly guided the two of them out of the room, through a narrow hallway, and out into the garden.
Asha’s heart sank as she quickly glanced away from Soraya’s face onto the garden. It was still the perfect place to train a Maiden in secret, with high, brick walls, but the quiet order of the garden that had once been here was long gone. Rogue weeds had filled the once glistening flowerpots, an invasion of ivy coated much of the walls. The desolate branches of the lawn’s single tree reached upwards like a skeletal hand, devoid of leaves and petals. It was so overgrown, so wild, so chaotic, but Asha would have to mourn another time. “You can still feel your magic flowing within you, can’t you Soraya? As strong as ever?” Asha asked, slowly descending, until Soraya’s feet had landed gingerly on the ground.

Soraya's understanding of what she was along with the the nature of her powers may have been a bit of fresh, new knowledge to the girl who had seemed to have known nothing prior to the events of last night. However, when her Mistress affirmed that on some level Soraya had always known the truth, she couldn't quite shake the feeling that there was a grain of truth in Asha's words. Soraya couldn't explain it, but...she did seem to have an instinctive knowledge about what exactly magic was and a Maiden's ultimate duty. The evidence of this came by the fact that Soraya only needed a small amount of guidance to fully see, comprehend, and understand things with very little explanation. This attribute, probably right to be viewed as a natural talent was far from a bad thing and helped to showcase the enormous potential this girl had. But as Asha rightfully explained though, understanding and manifesting were...two VERY different things...
Asha made a point to explain how people manifested their powers in different ways which completely made sense. It was true that Soraya hadn't seen another Maiden prior to meeting her sister as one last night. From just that simple encounter though, Soraya was able to deduce that her sister, like Druj seemed capable of utilizing some form of darkness or shadow magic. Comparing that to herself and her Mistress who were capable of wielding a form of elemental light, it made sense to Soraya that both forms of magic would naturally require different ways of being manifested. What it took for Soraya to manifest her own magic though wasn't something that came as clear to her... The only time Soraya had manifested her magic for either offense or defense was by pure accident. It seemed learning HOW to manifest her magic was the next thing on Asha's agenda.
Soraya's gaze had remained firmly on Asha's own hypnotic gaze for the entirety of the instruction in the art of being a Maiden. While the hypnosis was mostly being used as a tool to help bring peace to Soraya's mind so that she could better grasp the concepts her Mistress was trying to teach her, it also seemed to bring out an unusually high level of observance from the young Maiden. Her level of observation was so incredible thanks to her peace of mind that when Asha performed the simple act of glancing around the room to examine the atmosphere, Soraya seemed to just know that her Mistress was looking for a place for them to train. Where...that place Asha had in mind didn't quite come as clear to her, but Soraya wouldn't need to wait long to find out.
Without much warning, Asha gently broke the gaze between the two of them and leaned in to hug the young girl every so softly. While initially confused by these actions, When her Mistress just rubbed her cheek along her own and whispered to just bear with her, Soraya needed no other words or explanation. She quietly gave a soft, submissive nod of her head rubbing her cheek against her Mistress and softly allowed her eyes to close. The act of closing her eyes was, in part to show the trust she had in Asha, but also to help maintain the trance she was in until Asha was ready to shine that blissful gaze on her once again.
As silent as ever, Soraya made no sound, nor showed any form of emotion as Asha's wings flapped open and both of them began to gently float into the air. Her light form was gently carried through the halls without any sort of resistance, her limbs limply dangling in the air as the pair made their way outside. It was only when Soraya's bare feet made contact with the cool ground under her foot that any sort of life seemed to come back to her body. When she did start to move and show emotion however, the first look that came to her face was that of an almost overwhelming sadness.
Soraya hadn't opened her eyes yet, but honestly didn't have to in order to see where she was... Somehow the young Maiden could just feel that the garden they were in was devoid of life and light in general. Most likely due to the blissful state she was in heightening her sense of observation, Soraya could feel in the air faint traces of magic that helped her to understand where she was right now use to be a place of training and beautiful life. Yet...the remaining traces of magic was so faint, and the area had such a cold, almost bittersweet feel to it... Soraya hadn't been with Asha long, but this atmosphere was a far cry from anything the young girl had known from the comforting warmth of her Mistress...
With her eyes gently opening, Soraya slowly turned to glance around to get a better view of the garden. Sure enough, it was exactly as she had felt it to be... A place that was indeed well hidden and secluded from the public eye, but one that had since lost all form of life. Weeds covering the ground and once vibrant plants in flower pots, leafy ivy now mercilessly climbing the brick walls, and that single, sad little tree that was now a shadow of the beautiful thing it use to be... Soraya, like Asha felt an overwhelming sense of sadness with her own heart sinking just as her Mistress' had. The reason that Soraya felt this way though was for reasons far different than that of her Mistress to be sure...
Able to control her emotions impeccably, Asha was able to push past her sadness and continue to instruct and teach Soraya in her lessons. Without even the faintest hint of sadness, Soraya heard her Mistress inquire as to whether the young Maiden was able to feel the magic inside of her along with how strong the flow of her magic currently was. To Asha's voice, Soraya submissively turned herself back towards her Mistress only to initially offer her that look of sadness. What followed moments later however was an answer that was sure to be as satisfactory as it was bittersweet.
"I...I do feel the magic in me...flowing very strongly right now... But...I feel it out here, too...what use to be..." Soraya softly explained as she gently turned her attention back to the garden once more. "...I can feel the residual traces of past magic that radiate off of the brick walls...off of the ground...off of the plants... I can...also feel the faint traces of light and life in this space so clearly... I can...feel all of this...both inside of me and out..."
...Soraya's ability to sense magic within herself was a cornerstone lesson she needed to learn if she were ever to manifest her powers properly. Not only was this girl able to sense what was flowing inside of her however, she could also sense the presence of magic outside of her as well. This ability to sense magic emitting from others was considered a more advanced technique that took most a great deal of time to master. Yet, not only was Soraya unintentionally utilizing this ability, she had taken it a step further by showing the potential to detect the oldest, faintest traces of magic from years past and even detecting the presence of life itself in the area... Her current sense of observation and magical sensation were beyond that of normal talent, boarder lining that of insane prodigious levels.
