Thousands of years in the distant future, humanity had progressed far. They had travelled throughout the vast expanses of space, and discovered life beyond their own. Many races existed, and they proceeded cautiously with exploring and getting to know these races. Eventually, intergalactic travel and communication became commonplace. Things were wonderful as humanity progressed more and more. Then, a new race was discovered by the other intergalactic races.
A race whose lives centred around hypnosis. They called themselves the Mesmerii. A fair and beautiful humanoid race, with green skin that loved mesmerising and hypnotising people. Unfortunately for the intergalactic space council; of which humanity was a part, there was an elitist faction among the Mesmerii that believed themselves superior to all other races in the universe. And thus, they sought to turn all other races into their slaves.
When this was discovered, it was an intergalactic apocalypse. War broke out, and no one knew who to trust due to the Mesmerii's hypnotic powers. Years and years of bloodshed happened, and some races were even wiped out completely. All the other races joined together and sought to destroy the Mesmerii. Even the innocent Mesmerii were taken and wiped out. Shaken to their core, the Mesmerii struck back even harder. But, in the end they failed. And every last Mesmerii was slaughtered. Or so they thought......
The end decimation of the war was horrendous. Several entire solar systems had been destroyed by the aftermath. Horrified at the devastation, the intergalactic council banded together once more to decide what should be done to prevent such a thing happening again. The decision made was that hypnosis was to be outlawed in all the reaches of space where the intergalactic council's influence reached. And it did help. The galaxy was deemed safe once more. To reinforce this, the council spread secret agents among all races, to be their eyes and ensure that no Mesmerii lived, or hypnosis performed by anyone.
Unknown to them, the Mesmerii had interbred with another race. The Serelei race, another green skinned race that lived in dense forest planets. The other trait, unique to the Serelei, was the tribal markings on their bodies that they were born with. Every person could tell what tribe they were from, based off of the markings. One might say they were born with tattoos.
The Serelei knew the dangers facing them, since they'd interbred with the Mesmerii. They had recently discovered that the interbreeding had granted them the hypnotic prowess of the Mesmerii, albeit very slightly diluted. This was a grave thing to happen to them. Their entire race faced utter destruction if they were discovered.... Thus for many generations after the war, they kept their secret close. They also made very strict laws among themselves, that if any hypnosis was to be done, it was to be consensual and ethical to the highest degree possible. It was heavily encouraged to keep any hypnosis performed extremely secret, as well. Which they found difficult, since part of the Mesmerii culture that they'd adopted included hypnosis in their romantic relationships.
Many years passed once more, the secret still kept. Unfortunately for them, their secret is about to be discovered........

A girl who was around the age 20 was checking out a village. She had dark curly red hair which was put into a ponytail and light teal eyes. She was one of the agents sent to make sure none Mesmerii where left, which was the soul reason she was here. She didn't seem the type to keep secrets, she acted open and cheerful but she was much more then what people thought of her. This is the reason why she joined, she wanted to keep peace, she wanted everyone alright. Nothing more and nothingless but she had no idea on what would happen to her when she first signed up to join.
The village was rather small for her taste but it would have to do for the ginger, she had just gotten a room in the hotel thinkjng she wouldn't be staying for long, boy was she wrong. She walked down the busy street passing people of many genders and races, then turned into a small cafe. Just to get a drink. Unfortunately the line was long so she would have to wait there, her least favorite thing to do. 'At least i get to look around.' She thought looking around plainly. As she was about to move in line, a something or someone chought her eye.

Na'vi liked to think of himself as a ladies man. Despite his average height and somewhat plain looks among the Serelei, he'd been more than active in seeking female companionship. It helped that he was quite skilled in hypnosis, doing what most young hot blooded males do in their teens. He'd gotten into trouble for it while growing up but after some discipline, had mostly sorted himself out. Mostly.
He had been reprimanded many a time by the Elders for using his hypnosis in public, but he shrugged off those warnings as only the youth can do. 'A little bit here and there isn't going to kill anyone.' He thought to himself as he sipped his drink. The litchi juice was an imported favourite of his from the faraway planet Earth. He was itching for a little action though. He stepped out onto the dance floor of the small cafe; dance floors in cafe's were all the rage. Noticing a pretty Serelei woman, he smoothly danced over to her and started flirting. "Care for a little romance, pretty lady?" He said to her, wriggling his eyebrows up and down playfully.
"Mayyyyyybe. But I've heard of you, Na'vi. And I'm afraid that in order to get this girl, you're gonna have to be very...... persuasive." The woman flirted back, giving him a little wink and sliding her arms around his neck. She brought her eyes close to his, wanting to taste of the lovely hypnotic power that many a woman had already claimed felt heavenly.
"Is that so...." Na'vi droned, his voice dropping into his hypnotic lilt. The green-skinned self proclaimed gift to all women framed her face in his hands, leaned in close, and his lilac eyes very briefly glowed. He somewhat infrequently used his hypnosis powers in public, which was far better than his youth. The Elders of the people had done their very best to beat it out of him entirely. Unfortunately, all they'd seemed to have done was to make the scamp more cautious about how often he did it.
"Try not to think of me deeply mesmerising you." He continued in his soft hypnotic lilt. His eyes gently pulsated and glowed once more for a few seconds before fading to their normal lilac hue. Unfortunately, it wasn't until later that he'd realise what a mistake he'd made. A mistake that he would regret very soon.....

The red head watched this happened and gasped a bit loud, when people started looking her way she turned and pretend to be on her phone which she had just pulled out, to message-'wait, I chould handle this on my own. I know what to do.' She seemed to have made her mind up and put her phone back, thinking to herself. She nodded and order some random fruit drink, once she got it she walked over to the boy who she assumed was 'Na'vi'.
"Hello! I'm Harumi." The ginger greeted to the boy with a smile, she looked over at the other girl and gave a smile even though she felt bad, she hoped the girl knew what the boy had just done to her and wasn't gonna let him get away with it. "I'm new, maybe you chould show me around?" She asked the two, but her question was more for Na'vi then the girl. She then took a sip of her drink as she awaited their repiles to her question. Her eyes watching the two carefully.

Na'vi was surprised when another girl came up to him, forcing him to lose his concentration. He hid the surge of irritation that bubbled up in him, and smiled at Harumi. He instantly ceased all such attempts to get the other girl, of whose name he had yet to find out.
"Hello there Harumi, I was just getting to know this lovely girl here and trying to get her name from her." He said, with a sly wink at her. The girl blushed and turned away, red in the face now.
She tended to be shy due to her unusual blue eyes, which were very rare among the Serelei. Purple, brown, green and black were much more common than blue or grey. Her ebony hair ran straight down her neck, ending at her shoulders.
"I go by Rena to my friends, but my name is Serena." The girl said shyly, a little irritated at Harumi herself. The girl had trouble talking to guys usually, and her friends had told her about Na'vi who frequented this restaurant occasionally. She figured that given his reputation, for once she'd be able to talk without being shy. Rena looked at Na'vi, wanting to take his cue in this matter.
Na'vi gave a dramatic bow. "More than happy to show you around, Harumi. Any particular type of environment you'd like us to show you?" He asked, slipping into his roguish brogue, which he used occasionally.

Harumi frowned and shrugged. "No, but if i interupted something I'll go." She red head gave a crooked smile and took a sip. She then looked at the girl and smiled slightly. "Go get him tiger." She joked and turned starting to walk away cursing in her head. 'Guess I'll have to follow the two.' She thought and pulled her phone out starting to type something into notes, she sat at a different table and seemed annoyed about something. She took another sip before sighing. "Stupid job." She mummbled under her breath, she then tried calling but the line was full. "Agh!" She made a loud noise and put her phone away heading to the bathroom with an angry look on her face, leaving her drink there.
Harumi came back out with her hair down, she looked clammer but still annoyed. She sat back down and got back on her phone but this time, she was watching the video feed of the cafe using a hacking Progarm, she watched the two carefully planning out her next move after the little problem she had with the agency.

Rena blushed even brighter as Harumi told her to go get him. Which distracted her from her susion that she gained from Harumi frowning. She watched Harumi leave and made a mental note to try talk to her later to be friendly. Turning back to Na'vi, she shyly smiled. "So, what should we do now?" She asked him, softly.
Na'vi frowned inwardly himself, as he watched Harumi walk away too. He didn't have any problems with humans, but her showing up with her timing made him susious. 'Maybe I should be a bit more discrete and call it a day for now.' He thought to himself. He saw Rena's shy smile and it made him grin. "Well, I suppose we can keep dancing, and maybe meet here tomorrow for more flirting. Unless... you'd rather take things into a private room." He winked, while doing his best to flirt seductively.
Rena's shyness however took its toll on the poor girl, as her face and neck went completely red. Her eyes fluttered softly as she fainted, collapsing gently to the floor. "Oh crud. Maybe I overdid it." Na'vi said, face-palming himself. He quickly picked up the girl and took her to the reception to ask if they could get her a room.
Having secured a room, he gently laid her on the bed. After checking to make sure she was alright and comfortable, he wrote a note explaining that she'd fainted and that he'd check up on her tomorrow at around the same time. He then went back to the reception to thank them, before returning to his own home.
Still susious about Harumi, he began trying to research her. But of course, there were hundreds of people with the same name that he had to wade through. He sighed, in frustration. "Somethings not right about her timing. Why would she all of a sudden walk up to me. I only have a reputation among my people. I tend to avoid other races, since the last fiasco with the Elders. Why would a human girl walk up to me, wanting me to show her around... This doesn't make any sense." He muttered to himself.

Harumi watched what had happened and frowned. "So it is true. Just you wait." She stood up and left, she was on her phone and walked down the street, then turned trowds a alley, once she reached it she started trying to call. Worry and fear written all over her face. "Come on. Come on. Come on. Damn it." She cursed and sighed. "I'll try back at my room." She mumbled and headed to the hotel. She entered and started walking to her room, the hallway empty. "God i wish i knew this place better, along with the people." She whispered to herself pulling out her keys, she then pur her room key and started turning it, not knowing what was soon comming.

Na'vi hadn't been able to discover any information about Harumi on the internet despite spending at least an hour looking. But he had a sinking feeling that she was someone who he should be very wary around. Following his gut instinct, he made a phone call to the Elders. "Hello Elder, Na'vi here. I am just calling to report that when I was flirting with a girl and persuading her, a human girl came up to me asking for us to show her around. The words themselves were innocent, but I've never had a human girl do anything like that. And since then, I've had a sinking feeling in my gut." He rapidly spoke, unloading his thoughts on the first elder he talked to.
"We'll take care of it. You don't have to worry about a thing anymore." The Elder replied. Na'vi heaved a huge sigh of relief. 'Now that the Elders are taking care of it I can relax, can't I?' he thought to himself. He felt marginally better, but the sinking feeling in his stomach still persisted.
The Elder on the other end of the phone had a grave expression on his face. He could also access the cameras and thought that she was suspicious as well. He'd rather wipe her out than try suffer the consequences of a potential secret agent finding out that they were related to the Mesmerii. "Assemble the guard. Capture this woman if possible. If not, kill her." He said, sending out a message to the Guards via wrist communicators and sending a picture of Harumi to them.
Moving swiftly, the guards assembled outside Harumi's room, guns pointed forward.

Harumi at the time was in the bathroom getting ready to go meet someone, once she finnished she got her side bag on, she then opened the door looked surpised once she saw the guards, she looked confused and scared, taking a step back. "Why are you here...?" She asked confused lifting her arms up as she watched them. Did they know she knew or was this something more sinister. She wasn't completely sure and didn't want to find out at all. Een if she did get away what are the agency gonna say? Are they gonna think she was insane? She would most likely never find out the awnser to her questions.

Na'vi couldn't seem to shrug off the bad feeling no matter what he tried. So, he used his hacking knowledge to hack into the cameras of the hotel complex. It was then that he realised the source of the bad feeling. It was the Serelei guard out in force. And he had a feeling he knew exactly why they were there. To kill Harumi....
The guards lined up and prepared themselves as the head of the guard sweated slightly. The Elder was coming shortly, and he could not afford to screw this up. Who knew what would happen if this woman escaped? The Elder had told him the situation roughly, and that he was to employ all his skill to ensure no escape. Whether that be by hypnotising the girl, or killing her outright, the choice lay in his hands. Due to the sensitive nature of any leaked info, he felt it might be best if he shot her to death. Just as he was about to give the order to shoot something happened...
Na'vi knew that he wouldn't be able to live with himself if Harumi got shot, no matter what her reason was for approaching him earlier. Being the mischievous scamp that he was, he had quite a skill for getting out of sticky situations. Grabbing a bunch of smoke bombs and flash bangs, he quickly made his way to the room where Harumi stayed. He saw the guards outside and knew they were about to do something. Not wanting to give them the chance, he threw an entire hand of flash bangs into their midst.
Blinding light went off within the Serelei guard, catching them completely off guard. All of them flinched away, and closed their eyes being effectively put out of commission for the next thirty or so seconds while their eyes recovered. A loud voice was then heard. "Harumi, run!!" Na'vi's voice rang out, completely unfamiliar to the guard.

Harumi then did what she was told, pushed through the guards roughly before running down the hallway and turning the corner, taking a second to breath before running again, like she had done this kind before which she had. Panic ran through her head but she kept her cool not wanting the gaurds to hear her.
She then got outside and into alley out of sight taking the moment to actually breath for once, thinking over her situation over for once. 'Did they know why did they come if they didn't know?' And-well 'Who saved me?' She seemed to be overwhelmed by her thoughts but slowly claimed down, looking around to see if they had followed her knowing she was not completely safe at the moment. She then called out quietly "Who's there?" Searching her bag for something she could use to protect her

Na'vi felt the dread finally leave him as Harumi managed to escape from her encirclement. He faded into the shadows of the twisted streets to keep an eye on her. He could hear her heavy breathing, as she raggedly drew breath. 'She survived. That's the best outcome. Now, what to do with her though...' He thought to himself.
He was surprised that she seemed to sense him in the shadows as she called out. He still was somewhat suspicious on what she wanted, but he felt she didn't deserve to die because of a stupid phone call and a feeling of uneasiness from him. He slowly left the shadows, appearing before Harumi. "It's just me, Harumi." He said softly, still being careful of the guards finding them.

"Na'vi?" She asked softly, seeming to claim down slightly, pulling her hand away from her bag slowly still not clearly trusting him. "What are you doing here...?" She asked suspicious of him. She kept her bag as she studied him making sure it was him and not someone or something else, mainly because she had delt with shift shapers and creatures of the sort. "Are you the one who sent them after me?" She asked, her grip tighting on her bag as she stook her other hand back into her bag.

Na'vi wasn't surprised one bit by her line of questioning. "I came to save you. Also, I didn't personally send them after you, but it is because of my reporting of your suspicious behaviour that that ended up happening. So, I apologise for that. I didn't think that they'd send out the guard to kill you." He said, showing sad emotions for what had happened. His head hung down, his expression sad, his voice quiet.
He did give her a puzzled look at her reliance on her bag, but that was neither here nor there. "So, truce?" He asked, offering a hand to her. He'd honestly just had enough and wanted a friend at this point.
