"So how many people have you helped over the years?" John continued his questioning, still not finding the time to eat his food just yet. "Sam here isn't the first you've helped, right? So how long have you been at this?"

"For as long as I can remember."
"I'd say you are alright," Tracy says. She then goes to her plate and cuts off a small piece of her steak and ate it. It was at the edge and was lucky it didn't have any of the hairs on it. "I don't to be rude but I don't have too much of an appetite right at the moment. Just means more for you later on." "John I just thought of something. If Shenon knows this desert and is helping people maybe we should have her join our team. To keep on the lookout here in the desert and we can come and pick them up if any are found."

John had just cut off a piece of steak and was about to eat it, but stopped when he heard Tracy's idea. It wasn't half bad of a thought, provided that the rest of his suspicions could be put at ease.
"That sounds pretty good." John answered with a nod. "So long as she's okay with that and willin' to answer some more questions from the higher-ups."

"Work for them?" her mind shouted. No she can't do that, what would keep the humans from finding out what she is. Higher ups, answering their questions. No she will no leave her home to where she is unprepared. "No thanks, from your friend I can tell we wouldn't get along." Shenon leaves the room and back into the kitchen. She was gonna have to come up with a new plan. The guest weren't eating the poison and don't seem in a hurry to do so. If she doesn't do something quick they'll take her prey away.

Shenon walking away further delayed John from eating his steak. There was something very strange about this woman, he was positive about that now. Even Sam stopped eating and stared after Shenon, confused as to why she was acting so weird. And why would she decline an offer to help people even more than she had ever before?
"Shenon?" Sam called. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," she said not wanting anyone to enter. She needs to hurry and find another plan.

"Are you sure?" John chimed in, sitting down his plate and walking toward the kitchen. "Do you need help with anything?"

"Just peachy. Don't worry just getting more water." Water. Maybe that will work.
"So Sam you ready to head home?" Tracy asked. "You seem to be alright for travel."

Sam nodded eagerly. "Yes Ma'am. And do you guys have any way for me to call home. I'm sure everyone's freaking out over me."

"We have a sat phone in the jeep. You can make the call once we get outside. John can you help me get him up?"

"Can do." John said as he sat his plate down and walked to the side of the bed. He gently but firmly grabbed under Sam's arm, then gave Tracy a nod.

Tracy helps too. "Hold on for a moment," Shenon said coming out from being the curtain. "I have filled a cantine for Sam and I can refill for you both as well. Do worry about me. I know how to hunt for water here in the desert it won't be a loss for me."

John looked at the canteen that Shenon was holding. He was kind of thirsty. Surely a moment could be spared for some water. He looked at Sam, who was already eagerly trying to reach for the canteen.

Tracy grabs it for him and clips it to her belt. "I'll hold it for you. And that's kind of you for all of this. Maybe some day we can work together, when you feel more comfortable of course. And I don't suppose it would hurt to get a top off. Just give us a second to get Sam here out to the jeep."

"You ready to go?" John asked Sam, able to see that part of the boy was still a little reluctant to leave so soon.
Sam nodded and gave one last sorry look to Shenon. "I guess this is goodbye."
