"Don't worry about that, we have a vehicle. Soon you'll be back in civilization and then home. First I'd like to take a look at those injuries just to be sure." Tracy takes off her backpack and fishes out a fist aid kit.

Sam waited patiently for Tracy to check out his wounds, sitting up and ready to make it as easy on her as possible.
"I think it's just really deep bruises, mostly. Maybe a couple of burns."

"Even so, we will need to make sure there are no internal injuries. They can be nonthreatening for days but will eventually become serious if left unnoticed. Do you feel any parts of your body that feel like their filling with jelly?" As she said that she poked around his waist and gut, checking for damage of bone for blood vessels that have been from the crash.

Sam winced a bit at his aching body being poked, but he was able to tolerate it for the most part. Certainly nothing felt excruciating.
To answer her question he shook his head. "No, can't say I feel anything like that. That's good, right?"

"You may still need a trip to the hospital for a proper look at. But if you not feeling dizziness or any other symptoms that good for the time being." "The food still has a few more minutes to go, just wanted to let you know," Shenon said popping in to give them a heads up. "Good thank you. I think after a good meal it should give you the strength to handle the trip back. I don't mean to make this sound like a eat then run. It's that we have a job to do, and thank you for helping him." "Can't let someone die in the sand."

Sam gave Shenon a smile and nodded. "I really do owe you my life. And I kind of hate having to leave so soon. I'm in your debt and I could never do anything that would really pay you back."

"Don't worry about that," Shenon said. If only he knew how much he had paid her with his own years. Now all she had to do was postpone his, deparcher. Maybe even take a sip from the other two for icing.

Sam vehemently shook his head. "I can't help but worry about it. I don't ever want to forget what you've done for me. I want to find a way to come out here and visit you again sometime soon. Maybe even help you out with your daily chores."

"You people were always to much on your generous side." Shenon almost slipped on saying humans instead of people, unless others were just optimistic. She ducks back into the kitchen to finish up. After a minute or two the meat was done cooking all that was left was plate it. However one more thing was needed. On two of the steaks she added a sprinkle of the hairs from the bottle. It was an irritant to the throat and stomach. Some would see this as like a prank but Shenon believed this would be a decent aid to help her overpower the two. Sam is still injured so he won't be trouble. But the rescue team were another matter.

Sam was practically drooling at the sight of Shennon returning with plates of food. The smell of them even grabbed John's interest, who up until now had mostly been silent since Shenon returned. But now he eyed the steak hungrily.
"You two are really in for something special!" Sam bragged on Shenon's behalf.

"Well thank you," Tracy says as she accepts a plate from Shenon unaware her food was tainted as was John's. Same's and Shenon's were untouched as was part of her plot. Tracy takes a drink of her water from her pouch and continues her looking over Sam. "You can eat Sam, don't mind me. I just want to finish a last look."

Sam gave Tracy a nod and began cutting into his steak, keeping in mind to be as cooperative as possible with Tracy giving his injuries one last check while he ate.
John looked down at the food on his plate. It did indeed both smell and look good, but he wasn't ready to dig in just yet. Something still felt off to him.
"So you live out here?" John asked Shenon. "Did your parents live out here, too? And your grandparents?"

"I don't remember having family. Only that I have been here in the desert. Learning how to survive and keeping an eye out for any people that get lost out here." Shenon said. It is true she has no family. Her kind is similar to some species that just are born alone and must learn to survive completely on their own.

John raised an eyebrow in suspicion of Shenon's answer.
"So you don't remember anyone raising you? Then how did you learn how to survive, how to cook? How do you even know how to talk for that matter?"

"Self taught, and some of the ones that I find here have helped fill in the rest of the blanks. And is it so strange I don't have a family, a lot of people are orphaned or abandoned? Throw a stone and someone is missing a family member." Shenon acted as if she was on defense but really wasn't. It didn't bother her that she was alone, all she needed was humans to keep her youth going.
