Ok guys! I know it's been a little bit since we had an update on the contest and...I kind of feel like now would be a good time to get something out there. Little late perhaps, BUT better late than never, right?
So for starters, as most of you know the original deadline for the contest was going to be July 1st, 2018. However, our little mishap with conforums kind of sent that into a tail spin. So as a result, the contest had been extended to July 15, 2018 to make up for lost time. It's come to my attention though that even this amount of time may not be enough for most of us to get our projects done. So because of that, the judges and I are looking into a possible extension for the contest to sometime in August. However, if that is going to happen, I need to hear from the participants.
Thus far 5 out of the 7 teams that signed up have been cleared and are currently working on their contest entries. The other two teams I am still waiting for confirmation on. At this point, I'm assuming you either haven't made it over or aren't participating anymore? The individuals I have yet to hear from in this thread or otherwise include...
1. Sparkles_7_7 & HypnosisBliss - Status: Pending
2. Souleater Keyblade Master (SKM) & Karasu Status: Pending
For these two teams, if you don't get back to me soon and get your projects started/rebooted, you aren't going to have enough time to complete your work. I know a little under a month isn't a lot of time, but we are looking into an extension. Speaking of that...
In this thread (Or at least part of it), I would actually like to hear from all of the participants in regard to where you are in your contest entry. You don't have to give me specifics to your plot or anything. HOWEVER, if you are participating in the contest, I'd like to know roughly how close you are to being in completion. It doesn't have to be anything major, just a simple ballpark percentage figure is all I need. EX: 50% done, 25% done, etc.
If you guys could take some time to post how far you are along and how long you think you will need, the judges and I will consider an extension for you guys. If you would also though like to give a bit of feedback as to how you are enjoying yourself or what you think of the contest thus far, that would help me a lot. This is our first contest and we are still in the process of ironing out the kinks. Anything you are willing to share would help us with contests in the future!
That's about all I have for you at the moment, but there is one thing that I do need to state which...I probably. should have done in the very opening of this post. Again though, better late than never...
So!
Unfortunately, while I wanted to work as a participant in the contest, unforeseen circumstances have made my involvement as just a participant nearly impossible... I've already had to step up a couple of times because of the conforums thing and a few other areas, and as a result, I won't be working in the contest as a participant any longer. I did have a blast working in the event and I'm grateful to my partner, Jojo for working on the Arithian Tragedy with me. Truly wish I could have finished that project, but he understood the risks of working with me. And what I feared might happen came to be. I have to step out of the contest this time around to help bring this event full circle. As a result, instead of 5 teams that were actively participating, we will now have 4 unless the unconfirmed teams get back to me right away.
So yeah, that's my main announcement. I'm stepping back up into the judge panel to help bring this thing full circle and will no longer be working as a participant. I do though need to hear from you guys and get some feedback on where you stand in regards to the contest. If you could be so kind as to give me some updates, that would help me and the other judges tremendously. Thank you all for your engagement and support thus far. I look forward to helping to decide who the winners will be in due time!
