All around the world there are criminals that use methods both smart or plain dumb in order to obtain what they want. Some have all the right equipment to do a clean job. Others do so bad it's drop down hilarious. Towns that have these criminals will also have heroes to stop them. The police, but sometimes a vigilantly will step in and save the day.
In one bustling city there was a criminal that had yet to be caught. Dressed in slim one suit, a cat burglar called Mirage was at the museum. It was closed and security was on watch. Big on the WAS. Right now they were taking a nap either in the camera room or in the hallway. None were hurt or struck to be knocked out. They had just dropped and were sleeping like a baby with his pacifier. Mirage was in the vault room; the museum was holding onto some rare gems from a foreign country. With the code she got from the guard before he went to sleepyland, Mirage entered the vault and was getting to work at checking the inventory. She was a bit picky as not every gem was satisficing to her taste.

Soaring high above the city, a young man was on his way to the museum. A single security guard had just managed to put out some sort of alert, but then went silent. And yes, he really was flying. In this world full of super heroes and villains, people with extraordinary abilities seemed more common by the day.
This particular hero went by the name Blue Jay. The only power he had was to fly. No super strength, no energy projection, or anything else, just the power of flight. But flight alone was a great enough gift to make a difference and save people, even if it didn’t help much with fighting super villains. It was for this reason that he had taken up martial arts, and had become quite skilled in hand to hand combat.
Blue Jay’s civilian name was James Rooker, a handsome but shy eighteen year old boy fresh out of high school. He had short but shaggy black hair, and blue eyes. But when facing crime or saving people, he wore a blue bodysuit with white accents, a bird logo on his chest, and a blue eye mask in the shape of a pair of wings.
Arriving at the museum, Blue Jay opened a window and flew inside, landing on his feet. No sign of the burglar in this room, though there were a few guards fast asleep in the floor.

Mirage was busy at the time. Checking the gemstones and when she liked it, she would place them inside a black soft bag with a pull string. Finished with her work she had about six gems that were all the size of a US dime. Grinning with a white smile, Mirage pulls the bag away safe in her suit and was ready to leave. Her exit would be easy as the guard will sleep the whole night away and the alarms are disabled. She comes out of the vault..

But sleeping guards weren’t the only ones out in the room when Mirage exited the vault, as Blue Jay was waiting out there as well, floating a few feet off the ground with his fists up in a fighting pose. But he lowered his guard slightly when he saw that it was a young woman exiting the vault.
“You know the jewelry store is just a couple of blocks away, right?” he quipped with a confident smirk.

For half a second Mirage thought a guard she missed had spoken to her, but found it wasn’t. Instead before her was a young man in tight clothes floating in the air. A super. Mirage gave a teasing giggle. ”Are you among the tour guides of the museum, or to advertise the hot spot of town? Well you needn’t bother. I already found what I was looking for. And now it is getting really late. I know it was closing time, but I wasn’t going to be long. I’m finished and I can let myself out.” Mirage knew well the risk of taunting a super, but she’s no ordinary cat burglar. Play her cards right and she’ll get her way.

“Or I have a better idea.” Blue Jay retorted as her floated toward her, still seeming confident but not foolish enough to let his guard down entirely. She didn’t seem all that tough in terms of combat, but he knew he had to consider the possibility that she had powers, especially considering she had apparently put every single guard to sleep. If she managed to set him down for a nap, there would be no preventing her escape. Not only that, but in this line of work being put into a defenseless and vulnerable state could prove deadly.
“How about you return whatever you took, and we can have a little chat with the police. It doesn’t look like you’ve hurt anyone, and it’s not too late to make things right. I’ll put in a good word for you, and I’m sure you’ll get off easy.”

"Sorry dear. As nice as you can make it, I'm going to decline your offer." Mirage reaches into her bag and pulls out a gem she just stole that was clear as glass. She tapped it with one finger and held it to her ear. She then pulls out a mini flashlight and shines it on the gem. She weaves the gem back and forth making the beam of reflected light shine at Jay's face. One would think its a blinding act, but she wasn't aiming for his eyeball. Instead the light was hitting around the eye. It wasn't a blinding act, it was something else

Blue Jay chucked and folded his arms, clearly not impressed with whatever she was trying to pull off.
“Yeah, yeah, cool little trick.” he said condescendingly, floating even closer to her. Sure, the light effect was unique and honestly very pretty, but he could still see just fine and he didn’t know what she was trying to accomplish.
“Well, now that you’ve had your fun, why don’t we... why don’t... we... why...”
For some reason, he was having trouble finishing his sentence.

Seeing the hero dazed a bit by a lost of concentration, Mirage lowers her sleeve a few inches on her left arm. Tucked under it was a tiny spray bottle no bigger than a tube of lipstick. She sprays it in his face. The formula was getting low, considering it's tank was small. But there should be enough for another use. Inside was a formula made from various plants that all have one thing it common; an opiate to mild sedative. With fragrance of lavender.

The unexpected spray of gas in his face was enough to break his focus on the light, as he closed his eyes to cough. The gas was relatively light, but it still tingled inside his lungs.
“Hey! What did you- woah...” his sentence was cut off by a wave of dizziness hitting him. It was nothing too overwhelming, but it was enough to make it harder to balance while floating. His body wobbled unsteadily in the air, like someone in the water struggling against a current. “What... was in that...?”

"Nothing you need to worry your suit over, for its not toxic. Unlike most bad guys out there, I have no use to kill. But I'm no bad guy..." Mirage reaches out a hand and grasps the collar of his suit. She pulls him close and passes her free hand to stroke behind his ear. She had already made two hits against him and both succeeded in throwing of his balance. Now was a new step that will further mellow him

Given the fact that she was stealing precious stones, Blue Jay wasn’t exactly in agreement that she wasn’t a bad guy. But as she pulled him closer and touched him, he was starting to think maybe she wasn’t so bad after all. If nothing else, he was certainly enjoying being in her company.
His shoulders slumped as his eyes became a little droopy from the gas. He was floating much lower now, as his feet were only mere inches of the ground.
“You... you’re a...” he interrupted himself with a yawn, then finished saying, “a... thief...”

"You know if you go farther. The so called owners of the stones stole them from the earth. And now they want them to be placed behind glass and only certain few can see them. I'm not greedy and I'm just going to honor them for the beauty they truly are. I bid you a goodnight." Her finger behind his ear changed as it pressed a spot from the line of his ear to neck. Pushing on a pressure point. With him this laxed won't take long for him to go unconscious.

Blue Jay moaned as he felt her apply pressure behind his ear, and felt his body go numb a second later. His eyes rolled back to where only the whites could be seen, before they closed completely and he fell to the floor with a thud. The last conscious thought he had was that he hoped she didn’t notice him placing a small tracer on her suit when she pulled him by his collar.

"Bu Buy," Mirage said and left the hero where he laid. Without trouble she left the museum, knowing well no evidence of her being there will be noticed. The guards were such good boys following her...requests. Now it was time to find a place to lay for the night. First to make sure not to draw attention. Mirage ducked out of sight and changed out of her costume. She was out of her outfit and in a slim white top and gray pensile skirt. Her hair was let out that was brown and reached just passed her shoulders. She tucked her costume in a purse that was an expensive brand. It also matched her outfit, showing how fashioned forward she was. Mirage then flagged a cab that kindly took her to a three stared hotel. She could have gone up the chain but it was late and she rather not got through so much hassle. She paid the cab, who gave her a discount. She then went in and the desk clerk gave her a nice room. With that all done, and jammies provided by the gift shop, Mirage settles into bed for the night.
