The music continued, soft, infectiously soothing, and Ravenna found herself enjoying the gentle tones more and more as they continued. It echoed across the stone walls, the wooden floor, ringing in beatific harmonies, more wonderful sounds than the young thief had ever heard, or indeed even contemplated before.
As she continued to listen, her body began to react more and more to the inviting trills. It was an upbeat little carol, practically begging to be danced to. And dance Ravenna would. The slight sway that had begun in her shoulders continued, moving down, sinking into her hips, as her body wheeled and whirled in easy turns, obeying the music’s implicit instructions, wordless commands to sway in time to its blissful sounds. Even as Celaine’s potent power took hold of Ravenna’s body, the young thief’s mind continued to buzz with activity, as she strained to understand what on earth was happening, a task made harder as the continued rings continued to soothe her, continued to murmur in her ears that there was no reason to think so hard, there was nothing at all wrong with what was happening at all.
It was clearly magic of some kind, though Ravenna had never heard of any magic that could do something like this...she’d never heard anything at all that sounded so lovely, so…
She closed her eyes, shaking her head like a dog trying to clear its head of water, and while the abrupt, atonal movements did something to make her feel a little more herself, her shut eyes did nothing to shut out the continued tones as they eased their way easily into her mind. That was it, she realized suddenly. The way the music affected her body, making her dance and sway to its whim, that was all distraction. The magic’s true target was her mind, making it so that the wily would-be robber was not only incapacitated physically, but mentally, entranced.
But that wasn’t any kind of magic she’d ever heard of. It wasn’t like the slowly deepening madness of Vision of Heaven, it was...much nicer.
“Hey, chain girl,” Ravenna called up, and she was displeased to hear that she sounded far less frantic than she felt, if anything she sounded somewhat sleepy. Her body continued to slowly spin, arms outstretched. “What sort of magic is this?” She asked, already feeling the cracks in her intellect starting to show.

The sight of Ravenna's body starting to sway and dance to the song of the bells was more than enough to bring Celaine the sweet smile of satisfaction. Even when Ravenna attempted to shake the affects out of her mind and showed a bit of resistance to what was happening to her, Celaine knew it was too late to fight now... She had the girl falling into the power of her own little magic, and she was going to use it to the absolute fullest...
With Ravenna clearly affected now, Celaine eased up on the amount of energy she was expending to produce the hypnotic sound. She still kept the power flowing naturally and continued to conduct the bell-choir with her right hand. However, she had enough freed up concentration to will the chain still latched into the ceiling to lower her to the ground... Once down, she fully retracted the chain into it's talisman and proceeded to walk ever so gently towards the stunned guest...
"This kind of magic is a byproduct of the talisman given to me by my Mistress... A...manipulative magic that is produced by the Eye of Mirage..." Celaine softly commented as she proceeded towards Ravenna, still softly waving her right hand too and fro, conducting the bells above to produce their siren song. "...And...you get to experience the effects of it first hand..."
Celaine would continue to move along quietly until she was right in front of the slightly taller woman. Once this close, she made sure to look right into Ravenna's eyes at which point her magical eye began to glow brightly again. In the eye itself was something of an illusionary, hypnotic swirl that would manifest itself. Like with the bells, Celaine would use this to emit more hypnotic energy that would enter into Ravenna by sight now along with sound through the bells.
"...There's no getting out of this situation now or what you're going to experience for your crimes." Celaine softly commented as she started to sway her head a bit back and forth ever so lightly. "...However...if you promise to be good for me, I'll make this experience a pleasant one for you. What's happening to you can...be very nice and fun even...if you'll let it be... Will you let it be...?"
Celaine's question of whether Ravenna would let this happen or not was a bit more rhetorical than anything else... However, there was also a small part of her that looked for an actual answer for reasons easily relating to selfish satisfaction... Ravenna clearly didn't have a choice one way or the other at this point. And the way things were going, she wouldn't have one at all soon enough. Still...Celaine was curious just how she might answer in the end...

Even from several stories below, Ravenna could see Celaine’s smile, if only for a split second, as her body turned away, gliding and twirling towards the center of the room, drawing the helpless girl away from the exit that she had gotten so, so very close to.
There was a quiet *thunk* from beside her, and she turned, startled, to find Celaine returned to the floor, walking slowly towards her. A spark of fight of flight ignited in her body at the sight of her drawing near her and, for a split second she wasn’t dancing, but stepping nervously, shying away from her opponent, her eyes wide with startled fear. But the moment passed and, with another shower of blissful rings from above, her body was back to dancing and twirling to the melodious music, as Celaine stalked nearer to her.
Ravenna looked at Celaine, and the sight of her closing in towards her helped drive some of the bliss from her mind. The girl’s angry shrieks from only a few seconds ago still rang in her ears, and focusing on them helped remind Ravenna that the good feelings she felt now were a facade, that she was still the danger she had been when she’d been shooting at her.
But, as she drew closer, Ravenna noticed the girl’s newly exposed eye, gleaming with the same bright blue she’d seen when Celaine had first enchanted the bells. It shone, practically sparkled with that light, and Ravenna felt the same ease that came with the sound of the bells.
Ravenna let out a helpless, nervous little squeak as Celaine stepped right in front of her, that eye gleaming maliciously with that soft, soothing power. Her words seemed very distant...indeed, everything seemed a little distant...except for the sound of the bells, and the gentle blue sheen of the girl’s eyes.
“The Eye of Mirage…” Ravenna repeated, hazy now that she was so close to it. “mmmanipulative magic...manipulative magic,” she repeated to herself, trying to force the words into her head, trying to spark that same moment of fear that had enabled her, for that brief second, to avoid her control, hearing in the slur of her voice that she was already falling much too quickly.
The Eye of Mirage moved slightly, from side to side, and Ravenna’s whole head swayed with it, even as the rest of her body continued to sway to the tune of the bells, as she angled herself so that, despite the fact that she was taller than Celaine she was gazing up into her eyes, her long, dark, slightly curly hair shaking a bit as she continued to stare.
Only bits of Celaine’s words made it to Ravenna’s head, as the guardian spoke, continuing to tease Ravenna into a more and more blissful state. She tried to focus on the bad ones, tried again in vain to spark fear within herself, but Celaine seemed to already be working to avoid that, for as she tried to focus in more, nicer words began to float into her head.
pleasant...nice and fun...be good for me…
Ravenna bit her lip, trying with all of her might to resist the words, but she could feel that it was a fight she had already lost.

Ravenna's lack of a response didn't exactly give Celaine the answer she was hoping for. However, it also wasn't any sort of sign that she WASN'T willing to let things proceed... It seemed as if Ravenna were somewhere in the middle of struggling to retain her consciousness while also falling into the depths of bliss. Celaine knew sooner or later, she was going to fall and she didn't need to necessarily help that along... What was the fun though in just letting things happen like that? Celaine was still a bit miffed at Ravenna for making a fool of her earlier and thinking she could get away with what she had done... Carefully disguising that fact however, Celaine decided to push things along a little at a time...
Instead of showing her true emotions, Celaine instead offered the thief the sweetest of smiles to her entranced guest. As she did, her sways began to grow ever so slightly forcing the poor Ravenna to move with her if she were to keep gazing into that hypnotic eye of hers. The sways though would soon enough move into a sort of slow, circling dance as Celaine herself started moving around quietly putting herself in the dance right along with Ravenna. All the while, she continued magically manipulating the bells overhead with her right hand...
"...It's ok if you're scared... You've picked a very dangerous occupation after all and...choose literally the worst person to steal from. We both did some terrible things to each other, too..." Celaine softly replied as she twirled about temporarily taking her eye off Ravenna's just to tease her a tad...before returning it to her gaze and swaying once more. "...But...That doesn't mean this has to end on such a negative note. All you have to do is be good for me and enjoy yourself. If you do that...I promise it will be wonderful...to the very end..."
For added measures, Celaine forced a tiny bit more magic into both the spiraling of her magical eye, and through the bells playing overhead. As a result, the energy emitted from these two sources would temporarily blare out with double the effect they had previously before fading down to the normal levels they had been emitting earlier. And in that moment of hard hypnotic energy emission, Celaine made sure to sink something hard into Ravenna's brain...
"...You must be lonely as a thief... It gets lonely up here, too guarding this place day and night... We could just...let go of all of that and forget it for a time... Just for a bit...let go and forget all that...for just a little while..."
With her words, Celaine offered Ravenna yet another smile before moving next to her entranced guest to give her one hard stare into that hypnotic eye of hers. Like before though, she would tease her again by spinning herself away from Ravenna until she was facing in a whole other direction... Celaine made sure to keep facing away fro the thief where she walked a short distance away before turning back to the intruder. With that smile still present on her face, she gently beckoned for Ravenna to come to her and be with her...if she chose to... Celaine was offering to help her forget everything and really enjoy the experience...but only if Ravenna came to her 'willingly'...

Celaine gave Ravenna an indulgent grin, and she quailed internally, not because she didn’t trust it, because she did. Celaine knew her craft intimately, and it seemed she knew exactly how to win victory against her opponents. The faint anger when she spoke, the memory of her rage, those thoughts had been all that Ravenna had been able to tether herself to, the only things that kept those final bits of her mind under her control. With the wide smile, and that new encouraging voice, Celaine was working to undermine even that, until Ravenna would associate nothing with her enemy but happiness.
Celaine moved, contorting Ravenna’s body as the helpless would-be thief swayed, struggling to keep a direct line of sight with the bright blue eye, all while the bells continued to echo around her, soothing, quieting all those noisy alarm bells in her mind, all those pesky thoughts, snuffed out one after another.
Celaine twirled, and Ravenna’s head froze, pupils dilating in that split second, but the twirl was quick, and a second later Ravenna was happily gazing back into the bright blue eye. That split second was important however, the power of the eye was still on her, but her gaze had moved to take in, for that brief moment, the rest of Celaine’s face, her soft features, her shoulder-length hair...she was quite beautiful, Ravenna had to admit, smiling down at her like that, and Ravenna found her own lips curling, reflecting the girl’s smile.
Celaine’s voice was soothing, gentle, as she continued to coax her deeper and deeper into bliss, further and further into submission to her.
Be good for me...it will be wonderful...let go...forget…
Celaine’s words were ordinary, and yet, accompanied as they were by the purr of bells and the peaceful glow of Celaine’s eyes, they might as well have been an arcane incantation, so powerful they were on Ravenna’s mind. It was true, she had been lonely all the time. Only now did she feel happy, blissful, only with her, only with her.
Celaine withdrew, drawing back, stopping her own movements, though the music went on, and with it, Ravenna’s hips continued to sway helplessly. She reached out a hand to her, and Ravenna gazed at it, her pale fingers beautiful, the eye breathtaking, her smile seductive, her very essence enchanting.
She returned the smile, and, without another thought, stepped forward, reaching out to take Celaine’s hand.

Celaine wouldn't have to wait long for the little thief to muddle her way over to her and take her hand. With Ravenna's hand now clasped in her own, the seductive girl knew it was all but over... The intruder might have had a little fight left in her on some level, and she wasn't so far gone that she couldn't resist. But...coming to her willingly like she just had, placing her hand trustingly in the hand of the woman that had twice threatened and attempted to kill her gave Celaine all the information that she needed... Ravenna was hers for the taking...
Without wasting a moment, Celaine happily took Ravenna's hand and gave the thief a soft twirl before pulling her in and holding her close... Resting her head against Ravenna's chest softly, the room guardian let out the happiest of giggles to make it seem like Ravenna had made her the happiest girl in the world. What seemed like a loving embrace however...was something far different... For while in that embrace, Celaine quietly moved a hand about Ravenna's pockets taking back the treasures she had stolen earlier.
Once the treasures were back in hand, Celaine quietly spun herself out of Ravenna's embrace and 'danced' just a short distance away to put the treasures away in a nearby display case for safe keeping. To make it seem like this was just part of their fun, Celaine would 'dance' her way back to Ravenna and take her hand once more in her own. There, she would softly sway from side to side in a rhythmic dance along with her partner preparing for the next phase of what was to be done...
"Thank you for being good for me, and being my partner today..." Celaine smiled as she continued to sway back and forth with Ravenna's hand in her left, conducting the bells with her right hand, and staring hard into Ravenna's eyes with her own magical eye still swirling hypnotically. "...I don't often get to have fun quite like this, so you can understand my eagerness... But...I'm afraid that I don't know your name yet... I wouldn't tell you mine earlier because I don't associate with liars. But...if you could give me your name, and do so honestly...I'll tell you mine... How does that sound...?"
Celaine made it seem like she wanted Ravenna's name for entirely innocent reasons with the offer of a trade. However...the seductive woman secretly wanted the thief's name because she had full intention of reporting this to Saveria once this concluded... Still, she didn't want her entranced guest to know the truth and instead continued offering Ravenna sweet smiles and girlish glances to make herself seem as innocent as possible... All she wanted was Ravenna's name... Would the mesmerized thief have any reason to keep it hidden?

Celaine’s hand was cool, and squeezed with a reassuring power as she gripped Ravenna’s hand, leading her into a subtle twirl, bringing them close together, until her warm, small body was pressed against to Ravenna’s own, her head against her chest, forcing Ravenna’s own face to move rather comically as she struggled to continue to stare into her gleaming blue eyes. She smiled down at her, her heart fluttering at being so close to the source of her bliss, the person who had made all these wonderful feelings possible, the music slowed, the energy of the dance slowing as the two of them swayed together. She never even noticed Celaine plucking back the handful of necklaces she’d taken from the case. It seemed so long ago...why even had she come to this lovely, peaceful hall.
Celaine broke away with an elegant twirl, as Ravenna stayed swaying in place. Even as she watched Celaine return the items to one of Sevaria’s cases, she didn’t even notice it. She had eyes only for Celaine, for the way her blue eye shone like the stars, the way her body swayed seductively, the way her lips curled into that adorably powerful smile as she closed back in on her prey, taking hold of her hand once more.
The two of them danced for a few more blissful moments, Celaine leading, Ravenna following, the bells singing along to their intimate moments, Ravenna’s hand held still by Celaine, as her blue eye burned its dominance into Ravenna’s mind, into her very heart.
Thank you for being good...for being my partner…
Ravenna grinned down at her with a silly smile as she spoke, complimenting her, rewarding her. Her soul took flight, these words of affirmation were all she needed, all she craved, as she continued to sway, continued to spiral deeper and deeper under her spell.
But Celaine seemed to be asking her something, and Ravenna’s eyes narrowed something, struggling to concentrate on her words, the little left of her mind that wasn’t filled with bliss struggling to put the words together. Her name...she wanted her name...she hadn’t trusted her before because Ravenna had been a liar. How silly of her, trying to keep secrets from someone so lovely and perfect as this. Ravenna did not so much as pause, there was not so much as the slightest hesitation, and even if there had, the promise of learning this perfection’s name was more than enough motivation to have Ravenna spill any personal information.
“Ravenna...I’m Ravenna,” she mumbled, wholly unaware of the danger she was placing herself in, the danger she was already deep in.

"Ravenna..." Celaine replied, her smile turning slightly more devious.
That devious smile of hers would only last for a moment before Celaine let out a feminine giggle. With Ravenna's hand in her own, the seductress gently moved the two of them in a soft circle keeping their wonderful dance going. It was also around this time that Celaine began to manipulate the bells above to play a somewhat slower song. The tempo they danced too gradually began to slow setting up for a much slower dance.
"I'm so pleased to meet you, Ravenna... You know, it...wasn't kind of you to lie to me earlier and...doing so almost cost you this... Time in blissful harmony with me... But...I believe that you're being honest now, and I appreciate honestly more than senseless lies... So as promised..."
Before Celaine uttered another word, she moved in as close to Ravenna as she could and positioned herself right next to the thief's ear... It seemed as if she were going to reveal a tantalizing secret to her guest and...indeed she was. But...that wasn't the only thing she had planned... Before revealing her secret, Celaine used the moment of seductive surprise to wrap her fingers around Ravenna's coat. As she gently slid it off of her body, she finally whispered what she had promised to her mesmerized guest...
"...My name...is Celaine..."
The mesmerizing woman gently gave Ravenna the softest of kisses on her cheek before moving back into her field of vision and smiling sweetly. She took Ravenna's hands back into her own and softly lead her away from the coat that had now fallen to the floor. Figuring her coat was where Ravenna kept most of her magical tricks, Celaine had intentionally used this opportunity to get the thief out of it. Figuring that she was now totally disarmed, Celaine smiled knowing that this thief was now as helpless as a lamb...in spite of her state...
With the task of getting back the stolen goods, learning her identity, and effectively disarming Ravenna, Celaine's business was pretty much concluded... All she needed to do at this point was finish the job and present the corpse to Lady Saveria when she returned. But...while she knew that was her duty, for some reason Celaine couldn't do it... At least not yet... She knew it was what she was suppose to do...it was what she NEEDED to do. However, she herself couldn't deny she had been enjoying this tranquil moment the same as Ravenna. And she found herself wanting it to continue...just a little longer...
For the first time in perhaps a truly genuine way, Celaine offered Ravenna a faint smile and pulled her into a very slow waltz. She continued to conduct the orchestra of bells overhead with her right hand, that magical eye of hers still glowing with a hypnotic swirl. As she lead the slow waltz, Celaine gazed kindly towards Ravenna and just...danced, very much enjoying the moment while it lasted. While she did, she couldn't help but ask the girl a rather odd question... It was a question that had both a selfish, but also dutiful purpose...
"Ravenna, I...If for some reason you were...unable to leave this place...would anyone miss you? Do you have a home to return to or...maybe a family that you'd miss...?"

“Ravenna,” Ravenna repeated after Celaine, with a smile. Even her own name sounded better coming from her new friend’s lips, even as she watched those same lips curl into a wicked smile. Had there been anything left of the thief’s mind she would have immediately been terrified. Ravenna was aware of the power of names when it came to magic, and her name, combined with Celaine’s enchanting magic, made the young mage extremely dangerous. But then Celaine let out another happy little giggle, which Ravenna echoed, gazing at her affectionately as the two continued to dance. She didn’t mind that she new her name, why shouldn’t she know everything about her. It was only fair, after all, for her to give a little information, after she’d made her feel so good.
Celaine closed in against her, as the music slowed, and their dance grew more intimate, so that Ravenna was swaying slowly against her hypnotist’s form, leaning against her as Celaine held her close, her grip warm, welcoming, as she murmured sweet nothings to her about blissful harmony. Ravenna smiled blankly, blindly, her body still obeying the toll of the bells, her mind completely ensnared by Celaine’s magic.
She drew even nearer to her still, their bodies pressed against each other in the dance, as Celaine whispered back her own name to Ravenna, her breath hot against Ravenna’s ear, her voice sweeter than even the hypnotic tolls of the bells above them. Celaine...such a perfect name for such a perfect girl...Ravenna thought not about where she might be from, or what the name meant. She simply repeated it in her head, marvelling at the lovely sound of it whispered into her ear.
Celaine...Celaine...Celaine…
The name echoed across Ravenna’s empty mind, filling her with warmth, with affection for this newly named angelic figure.
As Celaine revealed her name, her hands moved swiftly for Ravenna’s long overcoat, and, with a single, seductive motion, tugged it off, sliding it away from Ravenna. It landed on the wooden floor with a clatter as Ravenna was stripped of a great many of her magical artifacts. The Holy Fire, the returning stone, even Vision of Heaven, now lay in a crumpled heap at Ravenna’s feet, along with who knew how many other magical tricks.
Ravenna let out a little gasp, not at the loss of her magical arsenal, but at the suddenness with which her coat had been drawn off of her. She felt Celaine’s lips press against her cheek and immediately felt them grow hot, as she blushed deeply. There was no denying these rather flirtatious beats in their dance, even deeply entranced Ravenna grew faintly flustered, though she never slowed in following Celaine’s lead as the two danced away from her coat.
Without her coat, more of Ravenna’s dress was exposed to Celaine, and she would, in her dance with the thief, get a look at her dress from all angles. She was dressed rather simply, with a white, somewhat wrinkled undershirt with long sleeves under a tight corset that shone a pale shade of gold. She wore long, light brown brown pants tucked into those large, rather unseemly boots, though they did nothing to slow Ravenna’s dance, as the tune continued to slow into a waltz.
She smiled down at Celaine, her beautiful face, that single breathtaking blue eye that dominated all of her thoughts. The two women’s bodies swayed together, as Celaine reveled in her victory, and Ravenna was only too happy to oblige her.
Celaine’s question cause Ravenna to frown. It was hard to think back, most of her didn’t want to think back to a time before the soft sounds, before the bright blue sheen of Celaine’s eye, but she had instructed her to do, and so, with some effort, and a thoughtful expression that was rather comical, Ravenna struggled to respond.
“I...I don’t think so, Celaine.”
Celaine...Celaine...it was such a lovely name, and Ravenna smiled widely down at her, almost forgetting to finish answering her question.
“I-I don’t have any family, or a home I...I liked to move around.” It seemed like so long ago...why even had she wanted to move around so much. Why had she taken so long to get to this place, why had she wasted so much of her life not gazing into that blissful, beautiful eye?

With Ravenna's coat now off of her body and the dazed girl distracted attempting to access her memories, Celaine couldn't help but...take the opportunity to glance over Ravenna's figure now and then as the two of them danced... From the seductive actions she had employed through this encounter to the act of finding beauty in her current dance partner, it should have been obvious what kind of girl that Celaine was... Even though her 'sinful nature' as the church put it lead her to feel a certain amount of shame and even heartache, she couldn't deny her nature... Especially in this moment out of the view of prying eyes and with someone who, at least in trance, wouldn't reject or...betray her...
Celaine's focus on the morality of her actions would immediately shift back to the situation at hand as Ravenna went on to reveal that she didn't have much in the way of home or family to return to. While from a dutiful standpoint this was a good thing, it also in some ways made her sad. Celaine knew all to well what it was like to have no one to really return back to and could sympathize having no family to speak of. She didn't exactly know what it was like to move from place to place, but...she understood Ravenna's plight more than not.
It would take a bit of effort on her part, but after Ravenna's words, Celaine pushed her personal thoughts and feelings aside for the moment realizing that she had to fulfill her duties... With Ravenna in this helpless state and knowing she would not be missed Celaine had everything she needed to finish this... She could finally perform her ultimate duty of protecting her Mistress' treasures and do away with this would-be thief without anyone knowing. It was honestly the part of her job that she hated most, but...it was her duty; a duty she had sworn to uphold in contract long ago to Lady Saveria... There was also the matter though of this magical stunt of hers beginning to really take it's toll on her body...
Having expended a vast amount of energy controlling the choir of bells overhead and projecting her hypnotic powers through her magical eye, Celaine was starting to feel the effects of this immensely. Beads of sweat began to form on her forehead as her body began to tremble slightly showing weariness was creeping in. While exhaustion was very much present, Celaine still continued to smile at Ravenna knowing what she had to do, but...not willing to do it just yet... Just a little longer...that was all she wanted...
Celaine gave Ravenna a soft little giggle to help clear the girls mind of the sadness of her situation. To help her further forget it all, Celaine took turns gently twirling Ravenna a couple of times with her hand before following suit with a couple of twirls of her own. This would in turn lead back to them slowly swaying with each other until Celaine moved close enough and embraced Ravenna once again. Here, she just swayed with her dance partner just...enjoying the moment... As she held Ravenna close, she again began to whisper in her ear oh so seductively just...to ease her mind...
"...You don't have to be alone and without a home anymore... Your home, your place...can be with me here in my arms... I would really like that... You have no idea...how much I would love for that to be the case..."

Focusing on Celaine’s shining blue eye, Ravenna was only dimly aware of Celaine’s other eye as it scanned her, taking in her figure, her form, and Ravenna’s blush deepened slightly. While she felt a little embarrassed, she felt more of that blissful happiness, and was happy that her body was pleasing to Celaine in some way.
The bells continued to sing their sweet song, and the two of them continued to dance, their body’s gliding across the room artfully, Ravenna happy to gaze into Celaine’s eye, to feel her hand lead her along, twirling her body, pressing tenderly against her. Although Celaine might have started to tire in her task, the bells seemed to Ravenna as beautiful and gentle as they had been when they’d started. There was, to Ravenna, no sign of exhaustion in Celaine’s face, not the slightest flaw as she began to tire from the magical display. The only thing Ravenna noticed was the slight tremble to her fingers, though the firmness of her hold did not waver, Celaine was still entirely leading, dictating each of their steps, each sway of Ravenna’s body as they pranced across the reliquary.
Celaine moved in to take hold of her again, and the music slowed again, as the two of them swayed slowly together, bodies pressed warmly together, Ravenna’s breaths slightly unsteady, unused to this kind of physical exertion. She let out an excited whimper as Celaine drew nearer to her, to continue to whisper into her ear. Every word she spoke was law, was canon for the girl, but there was something about when she whispered, the intimacy of it, the way she felt each word against the skin of her ear just as she heard them, that made her feel an even stronger level of devotion to her.
My place...can be with her...here in her arms…
She let out another mumbling moan, words growing harder by the second for the deeply entranced girl. To spend her time, her life like this, at peace, with nothing but Celaine holding her like this...it was beyond anything she had ever dreamed of. This was what she wanted...this was all she could ever want.
“I...I would love for that to be the case,” she mumbled. It was easier, when saying something, to say what Celaine had just said, and she agreed with all of her heart with what she said, gazing worshipfully at Celaine’s face, holding her just as Celaine held her. That Celaine wanted to hurt her, was building up to it...the thought was inconceivable to the helplessly hypnotized Ravenna.

'I would love for that to be the case...' Those were Ravenna's words to Celaine which brought a genuine smile to the seductress' face. In that moment, Celaine felt a warm sense of acceptance and joy unlike anything she had ever felt before. Someone...wanted to be with her and actually stay in her arms. It was quietly something she herself wanted for so long but had denied herself for so many different reasons. And yet...while what Ravenna said was exactly what she wanted to hear, Celaine knew it wasn't real...
Ravenna was just acting under the influence of trance and simply responding in obedience to Celaine's own selfish desires... The dance, the tender moments, the soft words... All of it were a byproduct of the magic Celaine had unleashed through the manipulation of her magical eye. None of it was genuine or real and...she knew on some level it was foolish of her to even pretend like these tender things meant anything more just being a means to an end...
While she longed for it to continue on, Celaine knew she couldn't fool herself any longer. Nor did she have the energy to continue using the properties of her magical eye and was weakening with ever second that passed... There was no more time for her to drag out this precious fantasy of hers and so...she quietly released herself from Ravenna's embrace and quietly made her way behind the young thief.
Once Celaine was behind Ravenna, she lightly wrapped her arms around the girl's waist and held her warmly from behind for a gentle moment. Resting her head against Ravenna's back, Celaine tried, but failed to keep a lone tear from falling down from her right eye, her left incapable of producing any tears at all. Though clearly sad, she smiled through it and spoke to Ravenna in a way that would not even remotely hint what she was about to do...
"...I wish this could go on forever... Having someone to hold, to accept you is...so nice... But...nothing ever lasts forever, does it? Sooner or later, the dance...has to come to an end..."
With these words, Celaine gently reached over to her left wrist and activated the metal chain talisman once more. Silently, she drew a small length of the chain out from the talisman and shed yet another tear as she prepared to use this to end the job. Her plan was to use this length of chain to wrap around the helpless Ravenna's neck and strangle her to death. It would be a bit agonizing even in trance, but...this was the only way and...she had to do it now...
...Unfortunately for Celaine...the fantasy she had put herself through had made a sincere impact on her heart... And it had unnecessarily drained her of the ability to use any other sort of magic including her magical chains... Celaine ended up hesitating every time she would feel the urge to move, but...held back in compassion. She would only get two 'opportune' moments before she expended all she had and the chain was forced to retract due to her own lack of energy... Those moments of indecisiveness yet again...proved detrimental which once more spared Ravenna for a time... However, that wasn't how Celaine saw it...
Realizing she didn't have it in her to end this girl, Celaine held Ravenna slightly tighter with an obvious tremble from behind. She let a couple of more tears shed from her face which...this time dripped every so lightly onto Ravenna's shirt. As she wept, the power she had over the bells along with their songs began to fade along with the power she held over Ravenna herself. Still, she held this girl warmly from behind so she couldn't see her weakness and uttered her last words while the hypnosis was still in effect.
"...I won't hurt you...I can't hurt you... For giving me just this moment...even in fantasy...I can't thank you enough... Please...just sleep for now... You've done so much and been through a great deal... You'll have more...to contend with later. So please...just rest for now. Sleep for me and...I'll take care of you as best I can... I promise..."
It was Celaine's hope that...with what little manipulative power she had over Ravenna, she could put her to sleep and let her rest long enough for Lady Saveria to return... Celaine didn't have the heart to go through with her duties and she knew the only thing left to do was report this to her Mistress... She didn't know what Saveria would do to Ravenna, or...even herself for failing to conclude the task at hand, but...it was easier than finishing this herself... For now, all she wanted to do was let Ravenna sleep and...take care of her for as long as she could...

Celaine gazed at her for a long, peaceful moment. At least, it was a long, peaceful moment for Ravenna. Even as she stared at Celaine’s face blissfully, watching it contort with emotion as Celaine tried, and failed to find it within her to hurt the thoroughly ensnared Ravenna, Ravenna could think of nothing but of how beautiful her captor was, unable to fully grasp the meaning of the tear gently sliding down her cheek. Still she could tell, through the hypnosis, that she needed some form of reassurance. And so, as Celaine wept quietly into Ravenna’s shirt, Ravenna leaned down slightly, nuzzling her cheek to Celaine’s, and the girl broke down, holding Ravenna’s body tightly as she cried.
The music died, and Celaine’s bright eye dimmed, but effects of the hypnosis were not so easily cleared from Ravenna’s mind, and she continued to listen with breathless obedience to Celaine’s words, as she tearfully thanked her for what she’d done, feeling warm, grateful that she had brought Celaine a happy moment, even if Celaine’s happiness seemed to have ended with this tight embrace.
Ravenna needed no promises of protection from Celaine, and, even before the words had been spoken her body had obeyed the order to sleep, and she slumped peacefully against Celaine, eyes sliding shut, blissfully asleep, thinking only of Celaine, and her wonderful music.
~~~
Ravenna blinked, and shivered. She felt...cold, and a bit...hung over? She was in a sitting position, slumped against cold stone. She attempted to move, to rise, but immediately went crashing back down to the floor. The clang of metal against wood echoed, reverberating across the otherwise silent hall. The sound, and the impact with the floor, helped wake her up faster than usual.
She squinted down at herself, and let out a shriek of surprise to see not the usual dark cloak but the pale white of her undershirt and corset. Even less welcome than the lack of overcoat, and the myriad of magical artifacts within its innumerable pockets was the presence of long, cold metallic chains around her elbows and knees, those had been what had led to her falling over. She swore quietly, gazing up, as her surroundings slowly came to her.
The first thing she noticed, high above her, was the metallic gleam of the bells, and memory began to flood back to her. The reliquary. Saveria’s reliquary. She’d made it in, she’d been doing so well, and then…
And then there had been that girl with the gun.
Celaine…
The name floated into her head, soft and gentle, and she frowned slightly at the warmth she felt at remembering the name of the girl who’d shouted and shot at her. Why did she feel so...fond of her? She grimaced, and rocked her body in place, testing how firmly the chains were around her, and was satisfied to see that they were not exceedingly tight. Whoever had done this had been trying to not hurt her, and had left enough slack for her to be able to, with some difficulty, escape from. Still, she made no efforts to escape, not yet, anyways.
She was still in Saveria’s hall, and there was no way that her captors would have left her here with all of these magical artifacts mere feet away by herself.
She coughed, and shivered again, feeling vulnerable, naked without her coat. She cleared her throat, and called out nervously the name that had immediately come to mind.
“Celaine?”
...It seemed as if after Ravenna had fallen asleep, Celaine had dragged the thief to the corner she now was and shackled her there for...unknown reasons. And sure enough, that was exactly what she had done. Though the reason she had done so was more to prevent another episode like the one that just played out more than to confine the intruder until her executioner arrived. Still...Celaine had obviously done so with great care and true to her word, made sure nothing happened to her until she woke up...
Hours later, into the twilight time of the day, Ravenna finally woke up and was greeted with nothing but darkness and silence. The fading lights from the nearby windows would signal to the young thief that she had pretty much slept the day away. But instead, the first words that came out of her mouth was the name of the girl who had tried to kill her, seduced her, and chained her to her current location...
Ravenna's call was met with silence for several long minutes making it seem as if there were no one else in the room. And the longer the silence went, the more dark the room became thanks to the setting sun just outside... The room was mere minutes from becoming a pitch black dungeon when suddenly...the sound of foot steps could be heard slowly moving about in the distance...
At first the steps were faint and hard to tell who was making them... Even more ominous was that...as the sound of those steps drew closer to Ravenna's location, the illuminating light of an oil lantern could be seen moving along with their sound. Flowing as if a ghost light in the dark, the holder of the lamp remained lost in the shadows for a time and crept closer towards Ravenna...step, by step... Ravenna would not be able to see who held that lantern until she was finally upon the chained youth. Who she saw was a familiar face though...a in a light she hadn't seen her before.
Before Ravenna was Celaine once again looking down at her quietly. Her...magical eye had once again been covered up by an eye patch and hidden behind her bangs. Unlike before when Ravenna saw her, Celaine was pale and sweating profusely despite the room otherwise being very cold at this point... Even as she held the lantern, she was trembling weakly and her breathing was heavy and deep... It seemed...like she had just been through or...was going through something horrible. And yet, she didn't show signs of weakness on her own, nor malice of any kind...
Celaine quietly knelt down to where Ravenna was and placed her oil lantern down on the floor beside them. Quietly, she unfolded a blanket that she had hidden behind her and softly wrapped it around her chained guest. Making sure it covered her entirely so that she wouldn't get cold, Celaine offered Ravenna a smile and spoke to her warmly. Though her voice...was so weak and trembled as she struggled to form the words...
"...I-I kept my promise... But soon...you'll have to m-meet her... And s-she will dec-cide your fate... Ravenna...If you...value your life...p-please...don't do anything rash..."
Celaine's words were probably as chilling as her appearance was right now... Was she honestly that terrified of Lady Saveria to exhibit this kind of physical reaction? Or...was there something more at play here that Ravenna didn't know about...? Regardless of whatever it was, it seemed as if unlike before Celaine was concerned for Ravenna's well being. And...in spite of how she was feeling, she was tending to the captive in a warm way... What was all this about...? Only time...would tell...
Ravenna shivered in the silence frowning up at the dark room. She couldn’t have been knocked out for very long, and yet it was as dark as night up here. Had she been asleep for hours? It didn’t seem possible, and yet, as a cloaked figure drew closer with a pale lamp, it seemed to confirm Ravenna’s worst suspicions, that it was in fact the depths of the night.
“C-Celaine?” she said, very voice quivering fearfully as the figure drew nearer in silence. She heard a rattling sound from close by, and jumped, only to realize that it was the chains against her own body, crackling against each other as she shivered, only partly from the cold. She’d heard legends, everyone had, of grisly specters who haunted very ancient sites, slain warriors of battles long forgotten, victims of horrible crimes that had gone unpunished, and it didn’t seem at all unlikely that one of Saveria’s little prizes was taken from such a place. There plenty of large cases on the far wall, any of them might hold the bones of a spirit doomed to haunt whomever they encountered.
Ravenna let out a sigh of relief as the face drew closer, and she recognized it as Celaine’s. Ghosts weren’t real, after all, even Saveria couldn’t compel the dead to rise. Celaine drew nearer, and draped a blanket over Ravenna’s form, chains and all, and Ravenna gave her a curt nod, trying to push back the odd warmth she felt for her. It was because of her that she was stuck here after all, and not miles away from this place, safe, and with an unimaginable treasure. She glared at her face, and found that her eyes were drawn every so slightly towards the eyepatch. She shivered again, even though the blanket had made her warm enough.
As she glared, Ravenna began to notice more things about Celaine’s appearance. How tired, down right exhausted she seemed, the way her body quaked, the cold sweat on her cheeks. She barely seemed able to talk, let alone shout the way she had a few moments ago. Or...was it hours ago? What on earth had happened to her.
Her…
The way Celaine said it, that horribly sick quiver to her voice, set Ravenna on edge, and she heard the chains around her start rattling again as she trembled.
“She? Who’s she?” she asked, hearing that nervous quaver return to her voice, even as the name came to her immediately. “Is it Saveria? It can’t be her, she left just a little bit ago...it...what time is it? Did she do...this to you?” she asked, gesturing from under the blanket at Celaine’s body, the questions pouring out of her as she felt her neverse spike.
Ravenna would have preferred a beating to whatever this was. Celaine had been aggressive the moment they’d met, shouting that she would kill her, and she’d known how to deal with that. But this Celaine, this weak, sickly, tender Celaine, was almost worst, and immediately set Ravenna wondering what on earth had reduced this vicious creature to tend to her so dearly. What had she endured, and what did she know that Ravenna did not. “What’s happening, Celaine?” Ravenna asked, her voice a quiet, terrified whisper.
