"The courtyard?" Felicia asked, shining an eager smile. "I think that sounds lovely. And please, at least call me Fel. I hear Princess almost a bit too much I almost forget my own name." She held her hand out daintily to be led by the great general. She was graceful and elegant, like a feather drifting alongside him. "Any particular reason why you choose the courtyard? You do strike me as a peaceful soul."

"Fel...as you wish..." he gave a smile and blushed further as he led her to the other side of where they entered the castle from. "Well, it is a peaceful place, in my opinion. It's also a spot for some of the art bought or donated from people in and out of the kingdom..."

"Oh? Quite the lover of the arts. You're already a bag full of surprises, general Grant. I can't wait to see what's there." Felicia couldn't help but look him up and down as she was led to the courtyard, admiring his composure as well as a few other attributes.

"Yes, I'm quite fond of art..." he replied with a smile. The courtyard had small trees around several places and vines growing on the walls. There were several statues, busts, wall engravings, many sights of created art. Some in tribute to the queen, the knights, the towns, even some commonfolk. "I can see passion, talent and expression from the people who make them..."

"That's a deep trait to wield." She lost herself in the decor. "Have you created some yourself? These are spectacular works. I might have to create myself a courtyard like this one of these days, though I don't have near the reputation you have."

"No, not my own," he replied, finding a bench for the both of them to get a good view of the art. "I have my own duties, but I am a bit fascinated at how some of these were made. As for you, your good reputation may only be a matter of time. Celebi did have quite a long time to build one. But, from what I've heard about you, you may be well on your way to a fondly remembered rule..." He turned to her with a smile.

"Really? Well, you're not the first to mention it. I must not be seeing the fruits of my labor like I should." She found herself bashful as he smiled to her, trying her best not to tear her gaze in her nervous knack. "I'm not an artist by any means, but you might find something in this," she said, pausing as she gently folded her sleeves up to her shoulders. One of her eyes turned from a fluorescent green to a soft gold, matching the ring patterns along her fur, as something similar to ooze began to pool out along her arms towards her fingertips. Upon closer inspection, it crawled with the size of vein-like tendrils, bonding together like thin strands of rope. Once it reached her fingertips, it flowed like warm honey to twist into the air in front of her. Black, with flecks of green and hints of her purple and gold fur morphed. Thin root shapes weaved from her fingertips, arcing into a stem as an intricate flower, like a combination of a rose and a daisy formed before his very eyes, pulsing along with her breathing. The bud was a little larger than her face as she now cradled it in her cupped hands, pivoting so he could have a closer look. "I haven't really shown this to anyone. Andy hardly ever leaves my side, but I have used it in the most pristine places I can find back home. If I'm not anxious about the piles of duties to be done, which has been weightier as of late."

Grant gazed in wonder as she created the gorgeous flower from her arm, seeing such a power not even he was capable of. "Oh my! That's...amazing! How is it that you can do such a thing? I'm a grass type and even I can't create a flower with the techniques I have..."

"W-well it's not a living flower.. or it won't be if it were to be severed from me entirely. It would keep it's form, though." She gently plucked it from her hands, the flower of sorts hardening as she gently laid it next to them on the ground, gathering some soil to perch it up. "At least it won't need watered," she lightly joked. The substance meshed with every curve of her arm it was almost impossible to tell the difference, save for the difference in color. "I found this deep within one of the pyramids back home. Well, more like it found me. It was before Andy was adopted, so I was very young. One of the ledges of the pyramid collapsed when I was out playing. To say the least I was pretty battered and couldn't find a way out. It was a labyrinth of darkness. I was lucky that darkness wasn't a problem for me, but I was losing hope of getting out when I came across a lagoon. This black muck was everywhere. Of course my young curiosity got the best of me, and I touched it. In a matter of minutes my limp was gone, and I could move my shoulder as it washed over me as you saw it do. Only it didn't leave me, but it embedded itself in me. It's like having a guardian inside you I guess you could say, though the past few years I've been able to control it how I see fit. Though I do think part of it has to do with my dark heritage, though I usually keep this to myself I don't know if there is even a history about it. I'm content not knowing for sure, though. I already have enough on my plate."

"Well, so long as you can control it and there are no ill effects, I believe the origin wouldn't be much of a problem..." he replied, giving a reassuring smile. "Besides, with you describing it as a guardian, it seems like it's all beneficial."

"It took some time for it to be fully beneficial. Though I'll spare you the details." The ooze softly sank back into her skin as she rolled her sleeve back down, her eye returning to normal. She stretched briefly, rubbing her neck. "Now, besides art, what else does a sophisticated individual such as yourself enjoy here in Dial? I'm sure you have more to tell me, and I am more than eager to hear from the top of Queen Celebi's forces."

"Well, I'm sometimes involved in training with the other knights and warriors in the royal army, I've grown a friendship to the other Serpent Knights and Squires..." he explained, placing his tail to his chin. "Alone, I read mostly novels and plays that I gain an interest in."

"A well rounded general to boot. I'll have to see your skill in action." She sighed as she scanned the courtyard once more. "Silence, something I haven't heard in a long time."

"Well, I'm glad you could finally get some time to relax..." he replied, giving a sigh. "But I can relate. I've worried quite a bit about my warriors and worked rigorously during my early years as general. If it weren't for the Queens insistence, I'd probably be working myself to death...though I still worry from time to time. I know I can trust my fellow warriors, though."

"We have something in common there. Though there are only six of us, and I've heard there are seven of you. It's a shame one of your own doesn't have a guest from my kingdom to share this with as I do with you." For the first time, Grant could see her shoulders slack as she leaned back on the bench, closing her eyes with a gentle breeze ruffling her fur, her tail swishing to an fro.
